Very nice, but felt a bit rushed. Food came out real fast and was very good fresh sushi.
Having lived in NYC for a few years and experienced some of the better sushi there (Azabu, Nakazawa), I'd say the quality here at Tomo was pretty good and compared fairly well. The restaurant is in a hotel and the ambiance reflects that. I made the mistake of coming here to celebrate a birthday with my wife, and it just isn't a date night type of place - more appropriate for business dinners, hotel guests. The manager sitting at the sushi bar working on his laptop didn't help the atmosphere much either.
Food was great and the server was attentive. I even appreciate the chefs saying hi and pet to patrons. This is my new favorite sushi in Atlanta.
Whenever we get the opportunity to stay in Atlanta we make sure to visit May at Tomo. She takes care of all of our needs. We put everything in her hands and the food arrives beautifully displayed and equally delicious. Great experience!
Food was superb ! Yumi, our server was amazing. Best dining experience I’ve had in a while
Great experience. Will return.
Best sushi I've ever had. The quality and flavor of the fish is second to none. The customer service was outstanding. All of the recommendations from our waitress were spot on. I must go back soon. A little overtime at the job is worth every single bite.
Exquisite as always. Our favorite sushi in Atlanta.
Loved this restaurant. my favorite was the black cod fish. the cod melted in your mouth like butter. Yummy
Excellent, as always.
Perfect place to go before Prom!
Highly recommend the omakase with Chef Tomo. It was personal and amazing. I was able to try so many dishes I hadn't had before, as well as things I have had but never at such high caliber. Will be coming back soon!
Excellent service! Food is always fresh and perfectly prepared!
Needs more roll options on the menu but generally a great experience. I’ll be back.
My family and I had a wonderful meal. We had Kobe beef, sashimi a nice portion and eel was so tender that could melt in my mouth. Most impressive is that our waitress Mae was very knowledgeable about the menu items. Mae also was informative. She showed my son, who tried variety of the dishes the ways to maximize the flavor of each dish. The dinner not only was delicious and enjoyable, it’s also educational to us. I will definitely go back and will recommend this wonderful restaurant.
Food was great! Service was great! Only issue I had was my asparagus was not cooked fully and was
tough. All of our table experienced that. Dish was from the Tomo Sampler. Other than that everything else was great.
We love sushi, and at Tomo the food is always so fresh and tasty!!!
the prices are fair and service is excellent!!! the only thing is missing is the ambiance....
The restaurant has a great potential - if just they were adding white drapery all over it would change
the ambiance completely!!!! something with the seating set up needs to be changed.
Excellent food, presentation, and staff
Delicious food and great attentive service.
The seating is very, very tight without much room between tables and to allow the wait staff to have access to serve. We enjoyed our sushi, but would recommend sitting at the sushi bar to get more of a dining experience without feeling crowded.
Food and service were amazing. The only issue I had was that our table was located extremely close to two other couples.
Best sushi in the city!!! Try the negitoro roll! Nothing better!
I would have expected a higher level of service, from the hostess to the waiter. I made reservations for my husbands birthday and the hostess did not know how big the party was. The waiter has a dismissive attitude and it seemed like he was annoyed. The service needs to step it up it to compare to the quality of food.
Plastic menus, no atmosphere, mediocre service, average food; in a few words that sums up my recent experience on a Saturday evening at Tomo. Years ago I recall having a vastly different experience but compared to Umi, MF or even Eight Sushi Lounge, Tomo no longer measures up. When I pay top dollar for sushi my expectations are also elevated and sadly, in this case, were not met. I will likely not return but if you go I hope your experience is better than mine.
Some of the best fish this side of the Pacific. Great service, outstanding presentation and worth every $$
The Omakase was fantastic. Highly recommended! Chef Tomo does a great job whether you are unfamiliar or an experienced aficionado. The best I've had outside of Tokyo.
Great food. Great Service. Lovely atmosphere. Great place to dine.
The food is amazing and the staff is very knowledgeable about the food and will make great recommendations. Ask for the server Mae she is THE BEST! She memorized our names and order by the second time we came in, and has been so friendly ever since. We ask her what she thinks we would like, and her recommendations have always been excellent. Anytime we travel to Atlanta this is a must stop for us!
Service was excellent and very helpful. Wide array of dishes that had a great variety of textures and flavors, all of which were very good
Saint Valentine’s dinner, really nice spot with a nice atmosphere.
Very mediocre, with one dish (the squid) being downright poor.
Amazing food and service which amplified the evening. The food was outstanding and definitely will be going again.
If you are looking for a “not your typical” sushi/Japanese restaurant, Tomo is it. We were pleasantly surprised by the options and the wait staff is very friendly. Can’t wait to return.
Spectacular sushi and Japanese food. Really high quality food, beautiful presentation, and oustanding service. Only complaint is the atmosphere...it doesn't feel as elevated as the food is (e.g. laminated menus, bright lights). Would go back for the food in a heartbeat, even with the lacking atmosphere.
Food was bland. Sushi was underwhelming.
Poor service. Expensive and wide sophisticated menue but not worth the price.
Awesome food, sexy ppl and cool owner that actually mingles with his patrons and treat them like family!
Best sushi in Atl. Yumi is the only Japanese waitress there and she’s the best. Manager is a true gentleman, knowledgeable and always teaches us something when we ask.
Our server was very sweet. However, We eat sushi everywhere and this quality was fair. We are used to far better, especially at these prices. The appetizer portions were minuscule and ridiculously overpriced.
Most outrageous of all was receiving $1 up charge on martinis for drinking them straight up, instead of on the rocks. The explanation we received was that we received more alcohol straight up. So, we were punished for drinking martinis as they are intended.
