Excellent food, presentation, and staff
Delicious food and great attentive service.
The seating is very, very tight without much room between tables and to allow the wait staff to have access to serve. We enjoyed our sushi, but would recommend sitting at the sushi bar to get more of a dining experience without feeling crowded.
Food and service were amazing. The only issue I had was that our table was located extremely close to two other couples.
Best sushi in the city!!! Try the negitoro roll! Nothing better!
I would have expected a higher level of service, from the hostess to the waiter. I made reservations for my husbands birthday and the hostess did not know how big the party was. The waiter has a dismissive attitude and it seemed like he was annoyed. The service needs to step it up it to compare to the quality of food.
Plastic menus, no atmosphere, mediocre service, average food; in a few words that sums up my recent experience on a Saturday evening at Tomo. Years ago I recall having a vastly different experience but compared to Umi, MF or even Eight Sushi Lounge, Tomo no longer measures up. When I pay top dollar for sushi my expectations are also elevated and sadly, in this case, were not met. I will likely not return but if you go I hope your experience is better than mine.
Some of the best fish this side of the Pacific. Great service, outstanding presentation and worth every $
The Omakase was fantastic. Highly recommended! Chef Tomo does a great job whether you are unfamiliar or an experienced aficionado. The best I've had outside of Tokyo.
Great food. Great Service. Lovely atmosphere. Great place to dine.
The food is amazing and the staff is very knowledgeable about the food and will make great recommendations. Ask for the server Mae she is THE BEST! She memorized our names and order by the second time we came in, and has been so friendly ever since. We ask her what she thinks we would like, and her recommendations have always been excellent. Anytime we travel to Atlanta this is a must stop for us!
Service was excellent and very helpful. Wide array of dishes that had a great variety of textures and flavors, all of which were very good
Saint Valentine’s dinner, really nice spot with a nice atmosphere.
Very mediocre, with one dish (the squid) being downright poor.
Amazing food and service which amplified the evening. The food was outstanding and definitely will be going again.
Spectacular sushi and Japanese food. Really high quality food, beautiful presentation, and oustanding service. Only complaint is the atmosphere...it doesn't feel as elevated as the food is (e.g. laminated menus, bright lights). Would go back for the food in a heartbeat, even with the lacking atmosphere.
Food was bland. Sushi was underwhelming.
Poor service. Expensive and wide sophisticated menue but not worth the price.
Awesome food, sexy ppl and cool owner that actually mingles with his patrons and treat them like family!
Best sushi in Atl. Yumi is the only Japanese waitress there and she’s the best. Manager is a true gentleman, knowledgeable and always teaches us something when we ask.
Our server was very sweet. However, We eat sushi everywhere and this quality was fair. We are used to far better, especially at these prices. The appetizer portions were minuscule and ridiculously overpriced.
Most outrageous of all was receiving $1 up charge on martinis for drinking them straight up, instead of on the rocks. The explanation we received was that we received more alcohol straight up. So, we were punished for drinking martinis as they are intended.
My first encounter with a Japanese restaurant that don't carry Miso soup... In the winter (What's up with that?)
The food is good, service is courteous and efficient, ambiance is questionable, especially the sitting arrangement that make you feel like you dine with at least two other couples. The tables are too close to each other.
Food and service, as always, was fantastic. Amazing fresh fish, prepared artfully-a treat for the eye and the tastebuds! It was unusually loud on Thursday, which made table conversation challenging, but that has not been the norm on other occasions. While lively, it is usually not as bad.
We've started going to Tomo once a week with a group from work. Fantastic food at a decent price for sushi. Everything is very fresh, service is top notch. Ask for May to be your server, she'll take care of you.
Simply the best Sushi in Atlanta. The food is like art. The kings and pharaohs didn't eat that good.
Great dinner and atmosphere.
Birthday dinner for 10 friends
As always dining at Tomo was spectacular. Jon, our waiter, is extremely knowledgeable about sushi. We asked Jon to pick the dishes for us and he came through superbly. The food was great tasting and the presentation was fantastic. Tomo is our go to place for sushi when we are in Atlanta.
Food quality has deminished, and restaurant smelled like cleaning supplies.
Server was great...Cliff stop by to check on us always an awesome time....
Food was okay but not as good as I remember it the past few times being at Tomo. I’m from out of town and had not been to the restaurant for almost a year, so maybe there were changes in chef/staff but overall I’d rate it as “good” but not great (as I felt it was in the past.
Absolutely amazing in all dimensions!!
Best in ATL and one of the best in the country
We loved the food. Shared the bbq eel bowl, sushi sashimi plate, tempura appetizer. Ask were excellent with large portions. It was busy and service was slow. However we will return! Good value for buckhead! Great authentic Japanese food
the drinks were a little weak and I was a little disappointed and the overall feel of the restaurant but the food was good.
My server was May and she was a fun, friendly attentive and knowledgeable person. The food choices she suggested were absolutely phenomenal. The atmosphere is a tiny bit more upscale than other sushi houses which was very nice but in no way stuffy or uncomfortable.
Tomo's has my perpetual kuddos. It is my favorite sushi restaurant in all of Atlanta... the fish is ALWAYS fresh, the dishes prepared with the upmost care and plating is a visual heaven. Whether you eat at the counter and watch the chefs prepare food with the greatest skill or at one of their many tables with others, the experience will be memorable. Do save room for one of their Divine Desserts.. my favorite is the Chocolate Cube and the Mango Sunny (a dessert pretending to be breakfast)! We've even gone to Tomo's restaurant to have just their dessert! I recommend Tomo for the best Sushi in Atlanta .. in fact... the best Sushi in Georgia!
Tomo is always excellent. Many different choices beyond traditional sushi.
Excellent sushi spot with a great location. Creative rolls and delicious appetizers with a large wine and sake list
First time and we will definitely be back.
