The food was decent, and the waiter was great. Wish they served oysters casino, since that’s my favorite and the only restaurant I know that served it closed. That’s why i tried here thinking they’d serve it too. In all I had a great time
One of my favorite Dinning Venues.Great Food!
Had a great time at Tom’s the staff from the hostess to the waitress to the manager, they were all extremely kind and helpful! The oysters were amazing- will definitely be back!
The service was excellent. The food was good, the drinks were ok. I thought it was a little overpriced. Not sure I would take a b\large group anymore.
Decent seafood restaurant. Oysters are great! Server was nice. Went for my grandmothers birthday and she enjoyed it. Ask for the bread when you go!
Toms is always good! Looks like they recently renovated inside and updated the menu a bit, everything was great!
Our servicer was very good and friendly . She was pretty-much the only thing that was good. I did enjoy the Martin and wine . But asked for window seat , didn’t get one , dat us next too two screaming kids who were actually standing on the table.
Dirty bathrooms, restaurant all over had a
Unorganized massy look . My entire meal was just bad . Didn’t like the Cesar salad , very skimpy with the anchovies. Oysters Rockefeller - missing the oysters. Crab cakes not very warm close to cool temp and bland .
We skipped dessert just not up to another disappointment.
unfortunately 3rd time was not a charm.... service was deplorable. the place was not even busy as there was a monsoon when we arrived. it took the waitress 20 minutes after we were seated to even recognize us then another 10 minutes to even get water. the last 2 times services has been deplorable. I am not sure who trains these waiters or they are scraping the bottom of the barrell for help. Food is good once someone can take your order and actually deliver it in a timely manner to your table. I would suggest doign takeout.
Lobster Carbonara was excellent! Got a free Oyster for my loyalty.
Oysters were good but too small for the money spent. They also said the Chesapeake Bay is in Massachusetts which it’s not...enough said.
The service was great, but the food was not so good. Batter for the fish and chips was undercooked and the perch was tasteless. The management comp'ed both meals and apologized to us. Will return next month.
My colleague and I enjoyed a tasty meal and fantastic service.
Fresh seafood find! We decided at last minute to dine out and enjoyed a sampling of oysters (a specialty), mussels and other dishes. The Donut and Lox special was a deconstructed sushi dish, fresh and delicious. The crab cake dinner was good, but mildly flavored and the sweet corn relish provided a positive addition. The Filet Mignon Medallions were apparently good as I didn't get to sample them; my guest finished his meal so quickly! I plan to visit Tom's Oyster Bar the next time I visit Royal Oak!
Great happy hour
I was in Michigan visiting my dad and we wanted to try a new place. The reviews and ratings on Open Table were very good so we figured we give it a shot. Our server, Sara, was great. She answered our numerous questions and gave recommendations. The recommendations we chose were excellent. We had the crab cake, lake perch, crab cake sandwich and key lime pie. All were great. Definitely recommend it for a casual evening out. As an aside the beer selection was very good.
Met Kim, Manager, who was my Server, and took very good care of me! She and I exchanged stories about wonderful restaurants we have encountered throughout our travels. She was certainly on point with knowing her guest and how to make them feel comfortable. Thanks again Kim and staff!
I had never had oysters I ordered 1 and liked it I came back two days later for lunch and ordered 6 and love them now I'm hooked😁
Oysters are very good. Price per oyster was a bit much
I was greeted at the door by the manager, who made sure we got tables in an area that we liked. Our waitres, Demetria, was great. It took us a while to make our selections; she was available for us when we needed her without hovering or rushing us. I always like the food. It was a very pleasant evening.
Tom's Oyster Bar is a great respite at the middle or the end of the day, whether for an exquisite meal that hits the right notes or a specialty cocktail that enlivens the start of a great night on the town. The staff is extremely attentive, friendly and well versed with the offerings on the menu. Check out their daily/weekly specials like the Scallops and Creamy Risotto. I would recommend their French 77 with its surprise of elderflower. It's a place that beckons for many satisfying visits.
Summer night out with friends. Good food, good drinks and excellent service! Wonderful experience as always
Took over 30 minutes to get our food. Basic fried perch and lobster roll for lunch. Food was decent once it arrived.
The food was excellent. The scenery was nice and the drinks were amazing. The waitress was not really friendly and was not hospitable at all.
Our appetizer was not presented well (oysters and peel and eat shrimp) the whole bowl was basically water and oysters were room temp.
Mahi was good- service took a very long time but it got better.... when we got our bill in the end. Will be back again to give it another try because it’s not usually like this.
Great soup, good service, but the food is mediocre.
Very good seafood selections that go beyond just oysters. We had a range of food with lobster mac & cheese, scallops, poor boy and pasta. All were very good. Drinks were good. Great service. Prices aren't cheap but also not overpriced for what you get. Overall a great experience.
The food was great but the waiter was not very attentive. Also it was Father’s Day and they did not seem prepared for the traffic at all.
We love Tom's. It is our go to Friday Night Date Night place. Food is always fresh and excellent. The service is excellent and the server we usually have is a lot of fun and friendly. I highly recommend Tom's. Never had an "average" meal. Also, I have only had seafood here, therefore, I don't have any idea what their "turf" is like.
Way too loud and chaotic. We went friday night so might be why so busy.
the food was good but the drinks are very week and over priced. if you want to drink stick to wine or beer
Girlfriend said the Jumbalaya needs to be spicier. Service was great and a really cool atmosphere!
Fresh Oysters, fantastic Oysters Rockefeller ,Fresh catch perch, good dinning experience,Good service
Love the decor. Food was delicious and LOVED the Mexican coffee!!!!! Our server was professional, efficient and polite. Will be back for sure!!!
Great Food, very good service, attentive and prompt. I will definitely be returning, Oysters Rockefeller was on point!
Venerable venue gets even better with time. Great seafood selection
The food was great and the service was Fantastic.
Kim did a wonderful job. Also the young lady that helped with the setup was very helpful.
Great food and great service. Thiught this would be a very dressed up type of place but it was pretty laid back.
It was a special occasion for myself and my group, we had a wonderful time, casual atmosphere. The food was served hot and with very quick and responsive service. I will come back.
Tom's Oyster Bar was so extremely accommodating for our holiday lunch on the patio with our dog! (They can't take/guarantee patio reservations.) The service from a hopeful reservation request through our meal was fantastic.
