Oysters are very good. Price per oyster was a bit much
I was greeted at the door by the manager, who made sure we got tables in an area that we liked. Our waitres, Demetria, was great. It took us a while to make our selections; she was available for us when we needed her without hovering or rushing us. I always like the food. It was a very pleasant evening.
Tom's Oyster Bar is a great respite at the middle or the end of the day, whether for an exquisite meal that hits the right notes or a specialty cocktail that enlivens the start of a great night on the town. The staff is extremely attentive, friendly and well versed with the offerings on the menu. Check out their daily/weekly specials like the Scallops and Creamy Risotto. I would recommend their French 77 with its surprise of elderflower. It's a place that beckons for many satisfying visits.
Summer night out with friends. Good food, good drinks and excellent service! Wonderful experience as always
Took over 30 minutes to get our food. Basic fried perch and lobster roll for lunch. Food was decent once it arrived.
The food was excellent. The scenery was nice and the drinks were amazing. The waitress was not really friendly and was not hospitable at all.
Our appetizer was not presented well (oysters and peel and eat shrimp) the whole bowl was basically water and oysters were room temp.
Mahi was good- service took a very long time but it got better.... when we got our bill in the end. Will be back again to give it another try because it’s not usually like this.
Great soup, good service, but the food is mediocre.
Very good seafood selections that go beyond just oysters. We had a range of food with lobster mac & cheese, scallops, poor boy and pasta. All were very good. Drinks were good. Great service. Prices aren't cheap but also not overpriced for what you get. Overall a great experience.
The food was great but the waiter was not very attentive. Also it was Father’s Day and they did not seem prepared for the traffic at all.
We love Tom's. It is our go to Friday Night Date Night place. Food is always fresh and excellent. The service is excellent and the server we usually have is a lot of fun and friendly. I highly recommend Tom's. Never had an "average" meal. Also, I have only had seafood here, therefore, I don't have any idea what their "turf" is like.
Way too loud and chaotic. We went friday night so might be why so busy.
the food was good but the drinks are very week and over priced. if you want to drink stick to wine or beer
Girlfriend said the Jumbalaya needs to be spicier. Service was great and a really cool atmosphere!
Fresh Oysters, fantastic Oysters Rockefeller ,Fresh catch perch, good dinning experience,Good service
Love the decor. Food was delicious and LOVED the Mexican coffee!!!!! Our server was professional, efficient and polite. Will be back for sure!!!
Great Food, very good service, attentive and prompt. I will definitely be returning, Oysters Rockefeller was on point!
Venerable venue gets even better with time. Great seafood selection
The food was great and the service was Fantastic.
Kim did a wonderful job. Also the young lady that helped with the setup was very helpful.
Great food and great service. Thiught this would be a very dressed up type of place but it was pretty laid back.
It was a special occasion for myself and my group, we had a wonderful time, casual atmosphere. The food was served hot and with very quick and responsive service. I will come back.
Tom's Oyster Bar was so extremely accommodating for our holiday lunch on the patio with our dog! (They can't take/guarantee patio reservations.) The service from a hopeful reservation request through our meal was fantastic.
The table was ready when we got there.. the service was great, the food was perfect and the price was not overpriced. Enjoyed the meal.
Great oysters and seafood. If you like oysters, it's a must to stop in and try.
My friends and I came to dinner on a Tuesday night. We had a reservation and got seated within 10 min. However, everything else took forever. We placed an order for drinks and received them 30 min later. The food took even longer and was not worth the wait. The oysters were the only thing I would come back for. The lobster roll was not good. The filet mignons medallions were over cooked. The seafood paella was just ok. Not a great experience.
The service was great but this was our second time eating at Tom's and, again, the food was just average. We made sure to order different things than what we did the first time in case we just chose the only two things on the menu which were average, but all of our group thought the same. Of particular note, based on our two visits there, the paella isn't a paella at all - it is just rice with seafood placed on top, and the jambalaya was more like a risotto than a jambalaya.
The food was great, and our waitress was very attentive. This is one of our favorite restaurants and we will definitely be back!
If advertising gluten free, make sure you at least have that soy sauce in stock. And if you're out, let the diner know before food order arrives.
Delicious food, fabulous service, great drinks! Can’t go wrong!
Friendly service. Fish tacos are alright, probably wouldn’t order them again. Not a very intimate dining experience. Couple sitting next to us felt like they were at our table. That’s the reason I probably didn’t like this place that much...they were super annoying and literally felt like they were dining with us. Other than them, I would visit again and request sitting outside.
The food was excellent. The wait time was normal. Can't wait to come back.
Excellent service! Lobster Roll was fantastic as was the Shrimp & Grits - can't wait to come back.
Fun night out with friends. While two had been there before, it was new for the other couple. We all enjoyed the evening and the food. We had different menu items from fish dinner, salad, sushi and classic lobster rolls (as good as in New England!). We especially enjoyed the Spanish Coffee. The waitress was great (as were my waitresses there in the past).
First time I tried raw oysters and they were fantastic. Tender and delicious. Can't wait to go back. Our table enjoyed a slightly spicy mac and cheese, perfectly cooked salmon, amazing seasoned fries, crunchy fish and chips and excellent crabcakes. The lobster roll was ok but we probably wouldn't order it again because there are better things on the menu. Don't be afraid of oysters- they are amazing!
Great Oysters. My fish in fish and chips were a bit soggy from resting on the paper and almost got sent back. The fries were amazing. Brussel Sprouts were amazing as well.
Lovely experience with fantastic service.
Food was delicious, only complaint was the drink prices and sizes.
Love the remodel and expanded menu, fantastic spot in Royal Oak!!
