Excellent service! Lobster Roll was fantastic as was the Shrimp & Grits - can't wait to come back.
Fun night out with friends. While two had been there before, it was new for the other couple. We all enjoyed the evening and the food. We had different menu items from fish dinner, salad, sushi and classic lobster rolls (as good as in New England!). We especially enjoyed the Spanish Coffee. The waitress was great (as were my waitresses there in the past).
First time I tried raw oysters and they were fantastic. Tender and delicious. Can't wait to go back. Our table enjoyed a slightly spicy mac and cheese, perfectly cooked salmon, amazing seasoned fries, crunchy fish and chips and excellent crabcakes. The lobster roll was ok but we probably wouldn't order it again because there are better things on the menu. Don't be afraid of oysters- they are amazing!
Great Oysters. My fish in fish and chips were a bit soggy from resting on the paper and almost got sent back. The fries were amazing. Brussel Sprouts were amazing as well.
Lovely experience with fantastic service.
Food was delicious, only complaint was the drink prices and sizes.
Love the remodel and expanded menu, fantastic spot in Royal Oak!!
I made reservations for a party of six. We had to wait a little bit for out table. This is a small restaurant. Our waitress was great but the food was average. I excpected more, especially for the prices.
Celebrating wife’s 50th
Good, a little bit slow service so don’t come expecting to get in and out when it’s busy.
very disappointing. Wife ordered lobster paella. Was to come with a lobster tail, mussels, shrimp and calamari. Lobster was fine, of the 4 mussels on the plate only 1 had a mussel in it. Server was very busy but brought out 4 more. We couldn't see any calamari. The server said it was mixed in with the Paella, it wasn't, she didn't want to deal with us. So, her meal was a flop. I had crab cakes. almost looked like they were bought not made in the store. Couldn't taste the crab really, a lot of batter and not very tasty. So my meal was a flop also. The place was very loud. We really heard good things about this place. One thing we did see, not very many people were ordering meals on a Saturday at 6 pm. Most were ordering drinks and appetizers? Maybe that's an indication. Were not going back, was going to talk to manager, but, we just wanted our bill and get out.
We had appetizers, soup, entrees and dessert. Dinner was awesome! It was a busy night so service was so-so. Otherwise it was enjoyable!
Went for the lobster fest. Had the ravioli. Good but I don't like the new copper table tops. The metal smell took away from the food.
Service was great, they didn’t have the pasta I wanted which was disappointing, but what I had was pretty good.
At 5:30 pm out of live lobster and lobster tails during lobster fest. How does that happen? Lobster roll was so-so...sauce overpowered lobster flavor. Very nice waitstaff.
Tried oysters for the first time! Yum!

#LobsterIceCreamwasnosogood-Disappointing But The Manager Took It Off Our Bill Too.
I didn't like the fact that everything is separately priced. Food was cold. I came for my birthday and was very disappointed. The best part about my visit was the Lobster Bisque. I can mark that off of my bucket list. Not A great experience for
Everything was great except he sushi. The rice was super wet and mushy (overcooked) They did take the sushi back and not charge us for it when we told them. Everything else was great!!
Excellent meal and staff! The four of us enjoyed ourselves! Great choices! Wonderful waitress! Will definì be back!!!
My sister took me because of my 50th birthday. I ate King Crab legs with a lobster on the side. My sister got lobster pasta, which came with a small portion of bread. I had a drink & pop. She had water. $89 bucks. Too costly, due to salad and bread are NOT included with the meals at Tom’s Oyster Bar. 😞 $89 bucks.
Not as good as it used to be. Oysters Rockefeller were gross. Hardly any toppings, and the waitress said she had to argue with the cook cause They were trying to give her one that was cold and one that was just heated. Went there for their February lobster fest. Ordered lobster which was good. Wanted to add on 1lb of crab legs to share. Was like pulling teeth. Waitress even brought out an extra claw for us cause she said the kitchen was being stingy. Come on. If red lobster can do it, ...we just ended up ordering another dinner. The waitress tried, but not what I expected.
Tom's has stepped up their game! We have always enjoyed it but they recently remodeled and changed the menu. Now, we LOVE it!
We made a reservation. Ended up running late of course, we called to make sure it would still be ok, as it was Saturday evening. When we arrived, it was very busy, but as soon as they knew we had a reservation we were seated right away. Awesome! The service and the food was great! The tables are pretty close, the other patrons were very friendly as well, we discussed what we each tried.
The food was not good they had to re do the order for 5 out of the 6 people I was with. Maybe the chef was just having a bad day. The manager went above and beyond to take care of us and fix the problem and our server was the best.
This was me and my wife's first Valentines Day. We got married Oct. 11, 2017. We felt the surrounding was very romantic, we were seated in the left corner and could see people walking down the street. I ordered king crab legs (they were a bit over boiled or under seasoned), but were still very good. I am a person that eats large qualities of seafood so I can tell a lot about how it is cooked, but I never send any food back to a cook. My wife had the steak and it was so tender and seasoned, that it melted in your mouth.
It took a long time for us to be seated by the hostess but the server was great. The food was average and the fishy smell was overwhelming.
This was my selection for our 18th anniversary dinner. Had never been here and this restaurant is awesome. from the open table reservation to the oyster shots. to the lobster bisque, lobster risotto, whole lobsters, lobster ravioli, surf and turf and lobster padella. Our waiter for 2 14 2018, West was just awesome. All of his suggestions, and attentiveness helped to make the evening just as magical as the day I married Malcolm. We will definitely be returning. I am still floating this morning as if I'm a newlywed again
Food was good! A little pricey but worth it overall. Will be back soon!
The food was excellent but it was a little tight where we was sitting but most part good for a date.
As always, food was delicious! They are having Lobster Fest for the month of February. So, ended up ordering the New England Lobster Roll and Lobster Pappardelle Pasta with a side of their delicious deep fried Brussels sprouts. Everything was just perfect.
My first experiance wasn't a good one. I had never been here before so i didn't know the menu. When i told the server Danetra that i needed just two more minutes she actually gave us ten. Then we had to flag her down to order drinks and later to pay our bill. She sat two tables over talking with another employee, only checking on us once. The food was great though.
It was extremely cold in the restaurant which made it really uncomfortable to dine. Our server was alright, excellent water service. This was my first time there and I wasn't impressed overall.
My opinion of the noise level ("quiet") may be a little skewed, as this was a late lunch and most of the crowd had departed. I chose both "cozy" and "good for groups" among several apt descriptors for this restaurant: "cozy" because it is, well, a bar, and the furnishings and layout are a trifle tight as you would expect; but also "good for groups" of six to a dozen or so, because there are long upholstered banquettes in parts of the room and in others the table layout is flexible. My friend and I had a couple of IPAs, clam chowder and lobster rolls. A $5 "cup" of the hearty chowder came in a good-size soup plate; for some people this would be a meal in itself. The lobster roll was authentic shore diner-style, generously stuffed in grilled toast; we had ours with french fries which came out sizzling hot. The slaw garnish was skimpy; I'd like to have had more of it. Scott our server was affable, patient and observant but not obtrusive; when we asked for coffee after lunch he brewed a fresh pot. Our check was $57.24. Even at only "$" prices as listed you'd have to be doing pretty comfortably to have lunch here every day; and there are far more expensive items on the menu than we ordered. But our opinion was that the quality, service and ambience at Tom's Oyster Bar made what we paid there a good value.
Were were shoved in the front window barely able to sit comfortably due to the high volume and seating arrangement. Our server worked her butt off taking care of multiple guests at once. She took care of us as best as she could. She was great. My lobster ravioli was not what I expected. It tasted like frozen stuffed pasta from the store. I overpaid.
Food was great. My waitress was exceptional...the hostess was a bit dry and reluctant

Great salad and great service!
Great drinks, great food, great service. Offers wonderful seafood, but other options for those who don't partake.
