   Beautiful sunny day for Sunday brunch! Imaginative drink menu. Disappointed that only one oyster variety was available. Especially with those prices$3-5 each We were celebrating a birthday which was handled nicely by Caleb. Good service. Management should give wait staff the opportunity to taste everything on the menu.

   My girlfriend and I went to Tom's Oyster Bar for lunch. I had my usual Salt Life Sampler. The oysters rockefeller were so overdone that all I could taste were the breadcrumbs. I'm sorry that I didn't tell the server until halfway through our meal, but she just said she was sorry. We did enjoy their signature Spanish coffee. Luckily I used a Groupon so the bottom line wasn't as bad as it could be, but I don't plan to come back as the food has gone downhill over the years. BTW, the place was empty. I did want to give a shoutout to Cierra, our server. She was excellent.

   My daughter took me to Tom’s for Mother’s Day; first time I was there. Great food, service and I very much enjoyed the whole experience. I would love to come back again. Had a nice time.

   Tempura fish and chips. Definitely not tempua batter. Small pieces of fish that had a mild fishy flavor. Fish tacos were good. Salmon reuben was good. Expecting a lot more for the high price.

    Tom's Oyster Bar is our favorite in Royal Oak. We had reservations before a concert on a Saturday evening and everything was perfect. Table was ready, food and service exceptional, as always.

    Overall, it was a "nice" experience, not outstanding. Our server, Kim, was wonderful and made the whole evening. Food overall was bland and small portions. We paid a ton of money for our party of 6.

    My wife and I enjoyed my birthday dinner at Tom’s Oyster Royal Oak. Great environment, the service and food was good. The last time I was here was over 20 years ago when I asked my now father-in-law for permission to marry his daughter. I look forward to visiting again soon.

    Always enjoy Tom's. Quaint little restaurant with a bistro feel. Had a reservation for 630 on a sunday night. Not overly busy, sat right away and greeted fairly quickly. Our server was older but seemed new to the restaurant business overall. Ordered oysters, the lobster carbonara, the lobster roll, and split a side salad. Wife asked what the difference was on the lobster roll and the server had to look at it on the menu to let us know that it was two or three (server should know their menu). Server also had to come back and ask whether or not i wanted the small or the large. I ordered the small because normally pasta portions are large. The side salad came out first, she split that for us l, so that was nice. Then the oysters (6 of them) arrived, and they were tasty, although I would have liked to see something different than cocktail sauce. Probably 6 minutes after that, our entrees came out. Not really well timed out - even the server seemed surprised. The portion on the carbonara was small (yes, i did order the small but wow)... really small... like, I've had bigger side dishes of pasta. Probably 2.5oz of petite linguine with a watery cream based sauce. Unfortunately was hoping for true carbonara, not americanized carbonara and for $21 for the small, it really isn't worth the money. I should have just got the large for +$8 more. My wife had the Lobster roll and the portion was decent. Lobster salad needed salt, badly. Overall bill was around $90 for two. Included oysters, 1 cocktail each, 2 entrees and a side salad. In the past this place has been on point. This night was just meh. We'll chalk this up to an off day.

    This was not our finest hour at Tom's. For the first time in forever, it was just ok. Pretty, tasty, but nothing was memorable. The Oyster Rockefeller were small, the clam chowder was think as lukewarm. The main meals, while attractive, were just ok. I had mentioned in booking the appointment it was my wife's birthday, but there was no mention of it. Finally, there were some freaky people with cameras and iPhones shooting video through the window, right where we were sitting. Another table also was extremely uncomfortable, so we asked if someone could ask them to stop. They said they would ask the manager, but nothing was done. We had to leave to avoid a situation. Not sure what is going on, but this is not the Toms I've know for a couple dozen years.

    Our first visit to Tom's. The food was great, service was excellent. We are super keen to return and eat again and try some time at the bar in the very inviting bar stools. The bartender was looking super slick in his shirt and tie. Very classy. Will definitely be back!

    We had a delicious dinner last night. Lobster tacos were divine and a friend had the salmon Rueben, which she also raved about. The food passing us on the way to other tables all looked scrumptious too. Highly recommend!

    Kim, our server, was fabulous. Food and drinks were delicious and thoughtfully presented. I’ve never had a bad or even average experience at Tom’s. The freshness and quality of the seafood always brings me back. This is, however, the first time I’ve ordered the scallops. They had the most beautiful sear and were cooked to perfection. The texture was right on. I just loved their unique dish with diced sweet potatoes, caramelized onions and a fabulous sweet bourbon glaze. I was impressed. Yum and yum! Their presentation of a Spanish coffee is my favorite, never had a better one anywhere : )

    I came here specifically to celebrate my birthday. The food was great, but this is the second time I’ve come and been disappointed by the service. I had recently renewed my license and left the renewal paper at home. I understand the restaurant could not serve me alcohol because of this, but waitstaff and the manager lingered by my table most the night, continually staring at me throughout the night. I got the impression they thought I was trying to sneak alcohol or something. It was quite noticeable and made the whole experience unpleasant for our whole party. My friend had also ordered a second drink and it was never brought out.

    We have been going to Tom's for years. 3 drinks, a dozen oysters, and 2 fish and chips came to $167.00. Not sure we will be returning as it is becoming very pricey.
