Entertainment District Restaurants

We made the right choice coming to Minami to celebrate my mom’s birthday this year. The food and service were excellent! Minami’s Wagyu beef on a sizzling stone plate never cease to amaze us. The Minami maki rolls were very delicious. The beef was so tender that it was melting in my mouth. I would totally reccommend Minami for restaurant goers who want to experience fun and creative Japanese food!

Getting there was a pain with traffic, no fault of restaurant but mentioning because we called about the delay from reservation time and it was no problem when we arrived. Server was very nice and helpful with the menu, recommendations and even brought a small glass of champagne as it was an anniversary dinner. Food was delicious, perfect for sharing and enjoying different plates. We were seated close to the bar which also is used by hotel guests and being TIFF, some loud and inconsiderate drunks were making a nuisance but handled by staff fairly quickly. Overall a great experience for a special occasion.

Absolutely delicious meal. We shared the halloumi, short ribs, cauliflower and beets, then each of us had a dessert. It was definitely the best meal we’ve had here. The service was excellent; we were well looked after. I wish they’d expand to the west coast!

I had such a great time at Kost last evening. I was at a different restaurant and my friend and I who were waiting for our other friend looked to arrive. We looked at the menu and said...NAH! I went on OpenTable and saw that there was an availability for 6pm at KOST. I booked it and we left. My friends asked me "where should we go?' and I said I know a great place. We waited outside for our friend who had to make a detour in her UBER. We went upstairs and we were seated quickly. I wasn't expecting there to be any openings last night, much less a table out on the patio. I was pleasantly surprised. My friends absolutely loved KOST! They had no idea such a place existed in Toronto. They are avid, frequent travelers. While we were waiting a gentleman downstairs told us to try the fries with the aioli dip and that the salmon was really good. He also mentioned that since it was their first time that the cook staff would write something nice on our dessert plate! ZARA our server, was great. She is lovely and was gracious and kind and friendly. The 3 of us ordered the same thing; the salmon! The potatoes and carrots were cooked perfectly and the glaze around the plate was lovely. My friends were so impressed with the food, they talked about it all evening. We realized our fries did not come before our food did. Which was fine, so we received our fries and were eating them with our food. Then it came time to order dessert. We wanted to split it 3 ways, so we chose the Ferrero Rocher cake. To our delight, Zara said that we were going to receive that cake complimentary because the fries came late! We were thrilled, and then my friend asked if they could write something on it and she said it's already in the works!!! I mean come on!! what more could we ask for? We also ordered the cheesecake slice which was so delicious. It was such a perfect evening. I will be back again soon. We also saw actor Matthew Modine, come out of the elevator as we were leaving!! 10/10
