Outstanding atmosphere, staff and meal. A fabulous evening.
Everyone’s whispering, the lights are off.. it felt like we were in a library. Can’t take pictures of/with the view or you get shushed?! Awkward.
For the expectation set by the location and price, there were some disappointments. One was the wrong pasta being brought to me twice, and the server did not know what it was. Then the shrimps were over cooked in another meal. The gelato flavour promised was not delivered. However, there was an effort to ask for feedback which was appreciated.
Service was great, food was good, and view is fantastic. The only complaint was that I ordered the seared scallops as the apple on the Prix fix menu and although tasty, it was one, tiny scallop on a dollup of risotto. The menu stated “scallopS”... So, the rack of lamb was nice, but I was still hungry afterwards.
Horrible experience! The food was terrible the service was really bad and for the wine list all wines under $ 100 were not available and the only wine available at $ 95 is a wine that you can find at the lcbo at $ 12. worst experience ever i really don't recommend this place
I should of trusted the reviews online because food was bad, service was bad and sitting was bad. I regret going there on christmas. It ruined my christmas. The asian host was so rude. I reserved a table that is NEXT to the window because I want to enjoy the view. However, they put us to a table not next to the window and the asian host was like, "is this not close to the window enough?" What kind of service is this? So basically I was starring at people eating and people's head through out the whole dinner. Next time if you can't accommodate this when I requested for it. please notify the customer so we dont have to waste our time coming and wasting money here. The table was super squished for us can even eat comfortably. Guess what, Im having a stomache right now. What a christmas! Also, I didnt even want to give them much tips. But they already included the gratuity in the bill.
Very nice to spend Christmas here with friends. The restaurant wasnt busy but we were sat directly next to a large loud family which was a poor choice by the hostess. Service wasn't as attentive as we would have liked we had to flag someone down for every request. Update your ability to split the bill! It's 2019, this isnt a favour to customers it's the norm for big groups that don't all drink, etc. Nice views though and food was great
First time here in years. First off didn't know it wouldn't revolve anymore. And never thought about asking or maybe they would state somewhere. Bit of construction going on as well which made if harder.
Food was amazing. Service was so so. Wasn't crazy busy but seemed like they were rushing us through everything. Didn't get offered coffee till after all was done. Usually goes with dessert. Then sat around and waited for our bill.
Was for Xmas dinner so a little disappointed all in all.
Christmas Dinner 2019. My son and I went to have what was referred to as an Italian Feast, so we were a bit surprised to see a menu that included a choice of appy and main and the dessert was the same for all (mini panna cotta and tiramisu). I chose the scallop on a bed of risotto which was cooked to perfection and delicious. My son chose the pasta fagioli soup which he enjoyed as well. I chose the salmon as my main and again it was cooked to perfection and delicious. My son chose the Cornish hen and really enjoyed his as well. The panna cotta was delicious and and tiramisu was good but a little strong in coffee flavour. My issue is not with the ambience, quality or taste of food or the service, all of which met my expectations. The issue I have is that when I booked the reservation I was under the impression this was an Italian feast so was expecting more courses and more pasta dishes, as I recall the only pasta choice for a main was a squash ravioli. At $60 per person I would have expected more food and more Italian options. That being said, we were satisfied and not hungry when we left. We also felt a bit rushed but understandable since it was Christmas Day and undoubtedly they were trying to keep to a limited amount of time per table to make room for the next guests. All in all we enjoyed ourselves and my main complaint was that it was not as advertised.
The food was okay for the price. A bit taken aback about the $9 for a bottle of warm water. Best part of the meal was the view (great table) and the service was outstanding. Everyone was friendly and accommodating.
The view was nice. The food was ok. The service left something to be desired.
It's a nice place with good view of downtown toronto with towers and lights.
Waitress was polite and caring.
All foods came cold, soups/appetizers to the main courses.
Windows were dirty but I no one to be blamed, it's winter anyways
We had heard/read many negative reviews about this place but decided to go for the Christmas Eve prix fixe dinner at Toula as we wanted to have lamb and a nice view. The 0 star reviews were right... The food was so cheap and low quality. Scallops appetizer (2 pcs) was not fresh, tasted like a cheap frozen thing. The lamb was tiny and so old you couldn’t tell it’s lamb. My partner’s “10oz striking sirloin” was pretty much served rare (asked for medium rare) and in cubed chunks. Who serves sirloin like this? My partner’s “cheese & salumi” appetizer was hilarious. It was basically 3 cubes of cheddar cheese that you could get from Loblaws. The service was attentive, view was great but being foodies we will definitely not come back here on an empty stomach. You pay for the view and that’s all.
I would recommend, however the food was really cold and the fish was raw. The service was good and the lady was very polite.
The prix fixe menu for Christmas Eve was fairly basic and the restaurant was very outdated for the price. The food was petty good but I felt like the value for money was a bit high. The drink menu was fairly limited too and prices were steep. I feel like they are getting away with the view compensating for areas such as decor that could use some serious refreshing. Probably won’t go back again unfortunately. Our server was very good though!
It was okay experience with Toula Restaurant on Christmas Eve Dinner. Couple thing that I want to mention is: Only thing that I like about this restaurant was view.
1) they charge me a water bottle for $9 each. They asked Regular water or sparkling. I mean I don't pay $9 for a water bottle while I can just get a tab water. They didn't say about this and got ripped off since I drank 2 bottles that's about $20.
2) Ordered a lamb medium - over cooked, and burnt outside. Seriously.
It was an okay but probably not going to go here again. I can expect better in different restaurant.
We had a great Christmas Eve dinner. Our server was excellent.
I was very cold sitting by the window —could feel the chill coming through the glass—though the view was beautiful. Think I would request a table across the aisle.
Although notified well in advance no recognition of 40th wedding anniversary and the fact husband proposed at the restaurant. Service was bad.
The Buffett food was tasteless.
The shrimp and the steak were the only good part of the entire meal
It reminded us of a 3 star in Mexico.
Desert was terrible.
Mimosa was all tang .
Great views, great food, a little pricey but generally worth it for a nice night out
Food was greasy, and not very good.
Beautiful restaurant with amazing food and spectacular views of Toronto.
bad service, waiters were arrogant. bad service, waiters were arrogant.
The view of TO is beautiful, food is always delicious. I like their wait because they determine if you're a party that needs constant attention or require minimal for privacy.
The servers were outstanding and the absolute best! The food was pleasant and we loved the dessert too. Great environment and amazing view.
This was my first time having the holiday brunch at Toula. I honestly had high expectations considering the food is stellar however the food was somewhat cold like the eggs Benedict and the chicken was overcooked. The mimosa tasted like watered down orange juice. I only liked the freshly made omelette station and the seafood. The pastries and fruit station could have been better as I wasn’t a fan
Of the cheesecake, the creme brûlée was burnt and the fruit trays could have been better. I liked the tiramisu but I don’t think I will come back for brunch. The lunches and dinners are much much better
Sunday brunch was ok, just ok and a bit pricey. I think I would have enjoyed eating from the lunch menu instead.
I recently attended Toula for a Sunday brunch and was excited to go as I thought it might be good given it is at the top of the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel and has such a good view of Toronto - well the view was the best part of this restaurant.
First of all let me talk about the food - it was horrible - there wasn't much taste or effort that appeared to go into the preparation of the food. It reminded me of low end cafeteria type food not something one would expect from such a restaurant and at the prices they were charging. Also, not one of the hot dishes were even the slightest bit warm let alone hot which was how the were supposed to be. When we were leaving the restaurant we heard other customers making the exact same complaints we had made to our server (yes we informed them of this before leaving).
Let me also comment on accessibility for those who may have mobility impairments. I use crutches to walk and stairs are particularly difficult for me. (This is in my Open Table profile which I used to make the reservation so the restaurant would be aware of this even before I arrived). When we arrived I asked if we were going to be seated on the main level (same level as the food) and I was informed they were not seating anyone up there and we had to sit on the lower level which meant I had to do 3-4 stairs without a railing every time I wanted to go to the buffet. I also noticed the lady at the table next to me who also had a mobility impairment and used a cane to walk. About 1/2 hour after we started eating they now started to seat people on the main level which we were told we could not sit there when we first arrived. After struggling up and down the stairs many times the staff offered to help me and/or move me if we wanted but at this point we were almost done and I had my dinner companion get me any items I wanted.
Also, you need to be aware there are no accessible washrooms in the restaurant itself. When I asked how I got to the washroom I w
The view is exceptional and the service was very good. The food was lacking in the sense that the variety was pretty good. The taste was very bland. The bread station was either butter croissants or some kind of dipping bread that was about the 6th of a slice of white bread. The decor is very dated and there were leak marks in the ceiling. That being said for the price it was quite good. Again the service was very very good.
Enjoyed the view, spectacular, the food, excellent and the setting, top notch.
Great choice of food although the temperature of some of the hot food was a little too cool. Eggs Benedict was cold
Service Wes excellent. $5 for a cup of coffee was excessive.
The biggest issue was the washroom. Had to go down 2 flights stairs. Washroom was in disrepair. The food was good but not excellent but prices should have dictated excellent.
Service was not timely, drinks were delayed and we never had water. When we did have warm it was warm. The view was nice but the plastic chairs and decor was outdated. Food was super expensive for poor quality.
Food is very good and the restaurant is very nice although it was not busy at all for a Friday night. A bit pricey, charged $9 for water and $14 for a whiskey ginger but besides that it was good.
Loved the ambiance and the overall feel. Service was also friendly. The view alone is worth the money.
It was a wonderful meal and the service was excellent. We loved it!
Let me start off with the food was delicious. We were a group of 4 and all loved our meal. They also brought our bread that was warm and perfect. The downfall of this restaurant is for the price, it is 100% not worth it. It was a Friday night at 7PM and the restaurant was dead. There was no music playing for ambiance, so it was pretty silent. Our waiter also was not very friendly. For the price, just not worth it.
Amazing views, decent food and an outdated restaurant. Looks like it’s been a good 20 years since this place has been updated. Has incredible potential if some money got put in.
Great Thanksgiving Brunch. Great table with view.. will be back next holiday.
