The music was appropriate for a burger joint!
Terrible service. Waitress seemed to have no idea what she was doing and no one offered to help her figure it out. Didn’t know much about wine or food. Pricey for mediocre service and pasta dish very small portion. Would not go back.
Was there for a first date and there was a group of women for a bachelorette that were pretty loud, and took up all of the wait staff’s time so they didn’t really tend to us as well.
We each ordered the salmon with black rice which was over cooked.
Service and food were unfortunately very underwhelming.
Has the most romantic evening here with my husband. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. I will definitely be back
The scallops on saffron risotto was the best I have eaten! The cook on the Sea bass was also outstanding. The staff could not have been better. Will definitely return.
A quiet restaurant with an excellent view, however the food and service did not stand out--especially considering the exorbitant price point.
We had been there 3 years ago and had a great evening so decided to go back for our 40th anniversary. Despite noting this when I booked there was no mention of it when we arrived. I had requested a window seat at the time of the booking. We were not sat at a window seat so asked to be moved. The table where they originally sat us had lipstick on the water glass and an obviously dirty fork! Service was terribly slow and the food was ok. The waiter tried to accommodate with free wine and dessert but it was too late. Very disappointed and we won't be back. The place really needs a facelift!!
We were disappointed with the restaurant. It needs a complete renovation. Its rundown, carpets are worn and the ceiling is peeling and pieces missing. They were understaffed with our waiter tending bar, bussing tables while trying to manage his own tables. The view is spectacular and the food was good but pricey. It wasn't the venue we had hoped considering the hotel where its located.
Very nice view !
The food was delicious !
The staff was nice as well. Not to crowded and loud !
The hostess and waitress accommodated our request for a table with a view. The waitress followed up with us and was courteous. The food was excellent. I would definitely go back. In terms of value, yes, you are paying a little more for the view and the fine dining experience, but it is well worth it.
I went to Toula with my family (5 in total) for Mother's Day dinner. They had a prix fixe menu for Mother's Day, which was not there when I made the reservation, and was not allowed to choose from the regular menu. It was a bummer but I let it go. However, when I got the bill I was puzzled because they had charged a gratuity of 20%. When I asked why the server told me that it's because we had a big party. I've lived in Toronto for years and dined frequently in Toronto but never have I seen a situation where a restaurant calls a group of 5 a 'big party' that requires a 20% gratuity. Also nowhere on their menu or website says anything of such thing. I complained and the server got it off my bill very quickly which confirmed my belief it was on purpose to rip us off. I honestly think that if we were a white family who spoke English (We are Canadian and fluent English speakers but we speak Korean to my parents) they wouldn't have done this but I guess we didn't look/sound 'local' enough and they thought we would pay for the rubbish charge. I will never go back to Toula because there are plenty of restaurants in Toronto where they don't scam customers every chance they get.
The hostess were not welcoming at all .our waiter was the most unexperienced person we've ever had.
hard to find someone to ask.
in general was the worst .not friendly & 000000 points
The food was great no issue ther the service well that is another story. From only taking one of our parties drink order before dinner, to having to wait for water after asking, having no server come to the table after the food arrived, was hoping for pepper, to never been asked if we wanted dessert, and hearing other guest complaining of the lack of service, the one funny part was the waitress almost melted her fake finger nail while lighting a table candle , but not really funny, just poor poor service all around
For $266 for 4 adults and 1 child (who ate what seemed like a supermarket frozen pizza), I would expect better.
The place is old and outdated. Carpet is dirty and worn. Service was slow and subpar. Food was expensive and average at best. Very disappointed.
Food was acceptable, but definitely not worth the money. Restaurant was very short staffed. Will not be coming back again.
It was unfortunate that there was an event scheduled on the evening of our reservation. If I had been made aware of that, I would not have gone. My preference was for a view of the water and the entire section overlooking any portion of water was reserved for a fundraiser. The food was quite good and the service was just okay.
They've done a nice job with this formerly revolving restaurant. It is a tough space to work with, but they have maintained an airy and open environment.
The menu was varied and provided a good set of options for dining. Service was a bit uneven, with some basic finer dining flourishes missing -- staff refilling wine glasses, not clearing the table before the full party is done eating, etc. While the experience didn't really meet the up-market pricing ($150/person with wine and cocktails), the lack of pretense was was, in some ways, a nice change from many of the other downtown dining experiences.
My only real gripe was the decision of the staff to apply a 20% gratuity to the bill rather than presenting the option on the machine as is otherwise common for small group dining. Otherwise an enjoyable experience.
We had a great experience. The food was surprisingly great and service was attentive! The restaurant was quiet and excellent for good conversation. The biggest problem is that Toula really needs a renovation. The entry from the elevators and trip to the washrooms was ugly and run down. This should be an absolutely premier spot in the city! The view is spectacular and the room should be much more beautiful. The decor was a major disappointment. Unfortunately, it was quiet and, I believe the overall ambiance is a factor.
Great food and service and views of the Toronto harbour and islands. This location is the best place to see our beautiful Lake Ontario and the Toronto Islands & BB Airport.
It’s was amazing, the restaurant have a beautifuk view! And the price are okay
We booked early 5:30pm on a Tuesday evening, we were going to a play at the Elgin theatre that night in Toronto “Come from Away”(great play).
We were seated by the floor to ceiling windows to enjoy a great view of the Toronto waterfront and skyline from the 38th floor. All tables would get to enjoy a great view even if not by the windows.
Our server was very attentive as were the other helpers to make sure we had everything we asked for.
Kathy and I each chose different appetizers and entrees so we could enjoy tasting different dishes. All were delicious.
We both selected a prix fix menu including your choice of appetizer, entree, and their choice of desert which was also very good.
I will be back to this 38th floor restaurant high in the Harbour Castle Hotel in Toronto 😃.
Decent food but quite over-priced, especially given the service. Our server seemed to know nothing about the menu, was unresponsive to questions, and generally was quite curt and uncommunicative.
Nice view over the harbour district
We got there and it looks like they were having a conference group meeting going on or something like that. This was me and my girlfriend anniversary and going off of pictures I really wanted to take her to the spot because of the view number one. We got there no one was standing at the door then the waitress or a bartender whoever he was came got us took us to a table. We ask for a different spot and got a no because the other side is under construction . So we were forced to sit wherever he put us to sit . As we were there going through the menu, the menu is super small, not much options and we feel like we were being judged because everyone eyes were on us 👎🏾 Maybe it was just that day and they had a older audience there, but we felt super uncomfortable. Ended up leaving, did not eat, went to a different restaurant, but I have to see the view is very beautiful and you get two thumbs up for that
Great views and nice location. Service doesn’t really match the high quality setting expected from this type of fine dining.
Lovely views, nice staff, and good food. Given the focus on the views I assumed the food would suffer, but was pleased by the quality and presentation. It was quiet and not crowded. My biggest and only complaint was that everything was super expensive, especially the wine.
was the perfect time to reserve as my husband n I had the whole restaurant to ourselves. The waitress was superb n the food was delicious as always
The food and the service was outstanding..... However, for a restaurant in a branded property as such, the place looked very very dated and badly in need of a renovation..... They even had those plastic see through banquet chairs for the place....
Celebrated a milestone birthday.
The waiter was very helpful and the food was excellent - kudos to the chef !
Unfortunate that more people don’t visit this hidden gem - the view was very nice.
Nice place to visit. Starting to show it’s age. Many better places in area to choose rather than this one that are better. I had Filet for my main. Was tough and tasted old and thought I might get sick. My appetizer was good but had same sauce as was used on my fiancé’s main lobster pasta. Staff was hit and miss. Some good and some not so good. Plates not cleared from appi before main was brought to table. As always view was good ..
Very substandard food
Now understand why a great location had only 3 tables occupied
Good. Waiter was really nice and food was good. Cost a bit much for quantity but quality and view was awesome
The only good thing about the restaurant was the view and how understanding the staff was. We made a dinner reservation and arrived to restaurant that was super quiet and no background music. There was only two other tables occupied at that time. Everything went downhill after, the menu looks like it was printed at home and was half ripped, the chairs were super uncomfortable, vegetarian options were hardly visible. The overall ambiance made me feel like I was sitting in a poorly maintained restaurant. They have the potential to compete with the cn tower with killer views, but its just saddening to see the place look like it's run down. They need to do alot of remodeling and rebranding. I really hope they can take this criticism and realise they have such great potential if they work on their menu and the overall look of the restaurant. Staff however was amazing.
The chairs were plastic patio furniture. The food was good but everything is outrageously priced. 2 people, one salad, 2 entrees 1 bottle of wine=$230
There are many options that deliver more for that price.
Scenic views are a nice and possibly the only advantage, mediocre food for $$$ price point, super nasty outdated restrooms, service was haphazard at best.
Not worth it. Everything was mediocre. Save your money. Only thing really is the view but that is not worth how much it costs.
Their not good thing was the view, food was crap, was served bacon when I clearly told them I can't have any meat except seafood. Bill had gratuity added on that time should have challenge but didn't have a heart to due to my date with me.
Pretty good overally speaking. A little disorganization with the servers, but nothing to make it a bad experience.
Food was amazing, and an amazing view.
