    Cute little place, but I did not care for the marinated crab claws appetizer which had very little “meat on the bones”. Also the wine selection I thought was average for a restaurant like this. The elk was very, very good. A pet peeve of mine is there was only one bathroom and it needed cleaning.

    The cracklings and confit chicken were good. The double pork chop was mostly fat and the dirty rice was tasteless and acrid. My husband had the seafood couvillion and the red sauce lacked flavor. We wished we had tried lunch instead of dinner.

    Absolutely excellent! We had the hog's head cheese, the rillons, the foie gras torchon, and the sausage of the day (lamb berbere). Everything was fantastic, and Issac and his staff were very kind and welcoming. We'll absolutely be back!

    Even better than expected! Don’t sleep on the squash or the corn bread, and the pork chop was by far the best I’ve ever had! I would define the portions as “hearty”

    We arrived and we’re sat quickly, the servers changed shifts right after we ordered the food was mediocre thick pieces of meat we couldn’t chew through - over priced and staff seemed annoyed to engage with the public - wouldn’t return

    The dinner was special and delicious, really outstanding. Only two uninspired desserts on offer, we passed. Our server bordered on rude and did not answer questions. Despite that, I would still say that the food makes this restaurant worth a visit. Small interior, very noisy.

    On vacation in New Orleans. Couldn’t leave without visiting Toyo’s Meatery as it had been highly recommended by family members who are foodies. And our experienced lived up to our expectations and beyond. We asked our server for advice and assistance and she was very helpful and informative. We had an order of the rack of elk, the boudin balls and a cucumber salad. We enjoyed each plate and share them between husband and wife. We highly recommend a visit when in NOLA. And we hope to return for another visit in the future.

    I booked a table inside just to find out I was kicked out by a wedding party. We had to sit in a very sad table outside in a dark street that felt dirty and unsafe. very rude waiter. Spent 60 dollars in a salad and one glass of wine.

    It was absolutely fabulous! We were hyped from see Toups on TopChef, and we were not disappointed what so ever. We ordered a bunch of food, took some with us, and enjoyed ourselves so much. The service was amazing, and the staff instantly made us feel like regulars. And the food, the food, the food! It was sooo good! We are only here for a bit, and we will be back again!

    It is a shame, because this place came recommended. I walked in and the server was frantic and told me to sit anywhere. After about 7 minutes, he came and got my order (an appetizer). After 30 minutes and watching people who were seated after me get their meals, I asked the server to check on my food. He told me the shrimp takes a while to order (which would have been something nice to know when I was ordering, or if in the 30 minutes, he stopped to check on me... he didn't). I told him I ordered crab claws, he said "that's my bad." I got up and left.

    Mixed Review - the duck dish from the new all menu was excellent with a flavorful hard sear, cooked a perfect rare and served with delicious smoked and roasted sweet potatoes. The crawfish pie special was overpriced and underwhelming - a sad undercooked crust, under seasoned and no evidence of crab fat. Did not at all resemble their instagrammed photo.

    2nd year coming for hubby’s birthday. Group of 4. Server was really nice but not very attentive; I think she was just too busy. Meat and cheese board was lovely and came promptly. One in our party had the seafood couvillion and said it was good. Another person had the chicken thighs, which ended up being a thigh and leg; she did like the sauce. Hubby had the double pork chop (he also had last year and loved it) but sadly he carved huge chunks of glistening fat from all sides of it. He said he got a total of about 6 bites of meat. I had the wagyu steak ($50!) which was dry, so tough it was hard to cut, very chewy, and tasteless outside of the super sweet coating. And my potatoes were too salty to eat. I told the hostess about our dismay about the pork, and she had quite the attitude about: “it supposed to be 32 ounces that contains 10 ounces of meat” “it’s a very popular dish” “the kitchen is not going to trim the fat”. The bill was quite large ($46 for the meat/cheese board alone). I don’t think we will be back.

    Unbelievably tasty local cuisine. Waiter sat down and explained the dishes to us northerners without a missed beat. Restaurant setting was simply and well designed. We had a smattering of everything. Don’t let the term meatery scare you. Cucumber salad and the squash dish were excellent as well. But the meats were star.

    Absolutely delicious. An amazing hostess and wait staff, crispy/fatty/salty/well-seasoned food, warm and welcoming (noisy) dining room. Highly recommended unless you're having an intimate romantic evening, which might not work quite as well in this particular place.

    As the local for our sales team, I was tasked to pick dinner for seven people. Four different states were represented in the group and our boss was excited to see the word “meatery” in the restaurant name. Toups did not disappoint! We shared five different apps and everyone had a different favorite. When entrees came out, the table stopped talking for the first time in three days. Toups set a high bar for our next sales meeting dinner.

    We went for Sunday brunch at the bar to try some of the new Winter 2022 menu updates. One thing I love about Toups’ is that if you’re lucky, you might catch the Chef at the bar having lunch! Hubby started with the Gulf shrimp 🦐 fried rice. I stole a shrimp and it was briny and fresh like it was swimming the day before. Chef says they’re sourced locally every other day. You can taste it. The portion is generous and hubby had leftovers for work on Monday. I started with the Egg Drop Toups, a new dirty martini 🍸 with a quail egg 🥚 garnish. 10/10 would recommend for dirty martini lovers. My entree was BBQ pork belly over locally sourced grits with some cheddar cheese and garnished with jalapeños. 🤤 mouth wateringly good. The pork was tender and crispy on the outside and the cheesy grits really brought out the tang of the BBQ seasoning. Hubby got his tried and true favorite, the Toups Burger. 🍔 While this delectable hunk has prime time potential, it’s only available at lunch and brunch. 🍳 As it was a Saints Game Day, the dining room was a little rowdy, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
