Food good as usual but way less choices than before.
Service always good.
Wide selection of wine but price very high, even higher than those nice restaurant in DT area.
Suggest order half litre than open a bottle.
The staff is always professional and fabulous. The cuisine is exquisite. We have never had a bad meal, bad server or bad experience. We usually eat at Tramonto 6 to 8 times a year. We would highly recommend Tramonto to anyone.
Selection from the menu is limited as a hotel restaurant. Service is great
Food was tasty overall, however not a 'wow'. The prawn soup was slightly on the watery side, not thick enough even though it was flavourful. Excellent and attentive service made up for the less than standout food. Also felt Italian and menu offerings were light...
Before I booked reservation online for my group of 4, I of course looked at all the online reviews for restaurants in the area. This place has great reviews online and the front desk clerk of the River Rock Hotel described Tramonto as an authentic Italian restaurant. I'm not sure if he has ever been to an authentic Italian restaurant before, but this is definitely not it.
Although the food did taste great, the portion size left a lot to be desired. The ambiance of the restaurant was a little off too. Not as elegant as described on OpenTable.
My 3 guests made sure to poke fun at me for picking this place, as they left feeling as disappointed as I did.
I would give the event menu 3.5 /5 as the food portion is soooo small. It did not mention how small the main dish is. I will rate the restaurant 5 /5 very good food and service, plus music. I can see that the regular menu food is very expensive and with more food in each dish. Recommend they make the event worth more. I won't really join the event next time for this restaurant.

Convenient... in the RiverRock Casino. Went there with friends for New Year's Eve dinner. Prices are on par with downtown Vancouver restaurants, but the food was only fair to good. Some of the chef's food combinations were odd, for example bits of undercooked cauliflower served with wild boar with fig sauce. This probably would be a better place for lunch or brunch... nice view over the river.
Food was outstanding, staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Great atmosphere. Overall experience was fantastic. Highly recommend.
We had the best server! He is an older man and he was really patient with our questions about the wines and the food. He checked on us with the right amount, and he also shared with us some of his life stories.
The food was also really tasty. We ordered two appetizers: scallop with risotto, and local oysters with champagne pearls. The risotto was served with a soft boiled egg; while the yolk mixing with the risotto made it more creamy, we think a quail egg would be a better size than a chicken egg given the amount of risotto. The scallops were cooked to perfection with a really nice smokiness. The oysters tasted quite fresh, but we are not sure if the champagne pearls added anything other than the texture (which we didn’t quite like).
I have ordered the wild boar chop as my main course, and I really liked it. The server recommended medium cooked. To be honest, I was skeptical about it because we all have heard pork needs to cook to well done. But I am so glad I went with his recommendation on the level of doneness. The meat was tender but a bit under seasoned on its own, but with the sauce, the amount of seasoning tasted just right.
My sister ordered the duck breast and that was probably the best duck breast we have ever had. There was a bit of an Asian favour; if you have had the Cantonese roast duck, that is the favour I am talking about, but just a hint, enough for us to detect but not too much to cover the other favours.
My mum ordered the fish dish. We wanted the sable fish but their menu changed to ling cod that night. Fish was cooked well, but my mum said the flavour was not that good. She thinks it would be way better with sable fish.
Dessert is a must in our household. The creme brûlée was okay, but we didn’t like the citrus flavour and the runny texture that much. The frozen chestnut panna cotta was way better in our opinion. Not only we could taste the chestnut, but it also had the texture of the chestnut.
All in all, highly recommended.
Very nice. My salmon was great. Vegetables were not warm. Chocolate ganache was minimal. Service was outstanding!
Dinner for 5 was excellent and service was exceptional. Meals were all served hot all at the same time and quality of cuisine was fresh, innovative and beautifully presented. We all enjoyed our Christmas celebration there and would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant for special occasions.

Terrible experience. The food and service was awful. The restaurant was empty, the waiter was rude and we had to send our food back - cold food - 4 different dishes. Unacceptable. Go somewhere else!
The table cloths are gone, the sable fish is no longer roasted, but the waiter is still the perfect example of a 5* server.
If I was opening a restaurant in Vancouver I would poach him.
But back to the meal, we had the oysters and superb scallop dishes followed by the sable fish as mentioned, as well as a fantastic chicken dish.
The parking is not good.
Our waiter was very attentive but the food was brought out in 10 minutes after the order was taken. You can make your own conclusions. We ordered salmon which was cold on the inside (perhaps it had been microwaved. The sable fish was very salty and the portions were extremely small for the high price we paid. Hope this is helpful.

The food and service are exceptional. Our server, Cris (I believe that is his name) was very attentive and very polite. He explained everything about the menu and was very accommodating. The rest of the staff were very friendly and professional. Please extend our appreciation to all the staff at the Tramonto Restaurant . We truly enjoyed our evening that night.
We had a lovely Waiter - Fourad? He was great, the food was Ok but too pricey for what we paid. Fine dining it is not and the atmosphere isn't great.

the only negative is that the room was a little chilly. take a sweater and it will be perfect.
The food was all really great. Service could be a little better for a nice restaurant. Nobody asked to take coats or umbrellas.
Basically what you pay for is the restaurant's ambiance and service .
Still one of, if not the, best Italian restaurant in Metro Vancouver.
Everything was top-notch but suggest you lower the lights and have a candle on each table for evening dining.
as prices here are as high as you will pay anywhere, you expect everything to be perfect.
1.my wife got up to go to the washroom and her dinner was brought just as she left, so it sat there for 5 minutes till she returned, thus getting cool. with not many people in the restaurant, this should have been noticed and her meal kept in the kitchen and warm, till her return.
2. Cabernet red wines are the most popular grape in the world, yet they did not have one cab to choose from by the glass, on the menu. As this is the only red wine I drink, I was not able to enjoy a glass of red with my steak.

Food was good, presentation of meal needed some work.
Steve was our waiter. Very attentitive. Excellent service. It was a very quiet night with beautiful view. The appetizer seafood tower was a cooked hot plate. Not mentioned in the menu but flavorful and we were pleasantly surprised. The sablefish was very soft and tasty. The tenderloin was very soft. Melted in your mouth. Will definitely come back.
We had a nice meal but the tomahawk steak we shared was chewy and tough so we didn't eat very much of it. Disappointed since we had it a few years ago and it was excellent quality.
The service was great and the wine also and the view table. I love the Caesar salad very unique presentation and taste.

On arrival we were surprised to find only one other table occupied, and they were finishing.
The service was as close to perfect as one could wish for.
We both enjoyed the sable fish with small requests to the kitchen for the sides.
Sharing parking facilities with the Richmond night market made for a challenge.
Overall a great evening.
We have been to Tramonto several times, and we were lucky to have the best server there! The food this time was beyond spectacular. To be fair, the mushroom voluté was not as amazing as many, many years ago but everything else, was at a level that the kitchen has never produced. The steak, halibut and scallops were phenomenal. Well done, a fantastic night! Best restaurant in Richmond.

Great as usual. I come here a lot for special occasions, and even just to bring my parents out for a nice dinner. Very friendly service and top notch food as always. Excellent adherence to standards!
10 friends of some 60-70 years gathered at your restaurant for a fun time with fine foods and excellent attentive, service. We had a grand time and plan to return.
The food was amazing. Started with the Seafood Platter for two, which was perfect! Followed by the
Tomahawk Chop for two. Again, perfect. Both items were cooked to perfection, seasoned to perfection and were plated beautifully. We wanted to have desert but had no room. Portions were not your typical tiny size.
The wine list: LOL you might want to show up an hour early or study the web page - the wine list is about half the size of the bible. lol I ordered an old favourite which I have not found at a lot of establishments, but is delicious! Syrah Nichol "Old Vine", Naramata Bench, which was actually reasonably priced! Speaking of price, the food is a little on the high side, but as the saying goes; you get what you pay for and I certainly was satisfied.
Finally the service: Our waiter (Tracy) and I hate to use the word again but.... was perfect. Knowledgeable, personable, was there when you wanted him and was gone the rest of the time. The best service I've had in years.
I took a chance and I'm glad I did. I can't WAIT to go back!!
We went to Tromonto’s to celebrate our 48th anniversary. We were seated immediately at a window table with River view. Our server was excellent as was the food!
Wonderful atmosphere, excellent service, delicious meals. Highly recommended.
Dinned here when it first opened and it was first class then and was very happy to find out it still is. The best part was our waiter was still there from the opening. Top notch service, great banter, and wine suggestion.
