Trattoria Italian Kitchen
Didn’t give me a free cake
We went for Valentine’s Day and the staff was very friendly. The food however was disappointing. For appetizer we had the bruschetta which was quite tasty. I ordered the tomato sauce pasta with olives and shrimp. My pasta tasted like a canned sauce and my partner’s lamb shank was very under seasoned and his risotto tasted burnt.
The ambiance and staff was so friendly so it was a nice date but for the price I would not come back.
Our server was very nice and friendly!
We were four people— we had reservations. Arrived a couple of minutes early and our table was ready within a minute. We ordered appetizers, mains and desserts and everything was delicious. The ambiance was pleasant. The noise level at the beginning felt a big loud but not uncomfortable and seemed better by the time we started eating. Our seating was at 9:30pm so it may have had to do with the fact the restaurant was a bit less busy by then. Overall very good experience as we have come to expect from all our previous times at Trattoria.
Our dinner was excellent. We shared a very good Caesar salad. My husband had veal saltimbocca and said it was one of the best. I had cannelloni. It was good but too much noodle around it. It was a lively neighborhood restaurant, a bit noisy but had a fun feel to it.
The food is always great there. The Dineout menu was $25, the food was so-so but great value for money !!
Fairly reasonably priced Italian restaurant, don't be expecting top quality with extra frills though
Service was great. The food was so so. There were four of us, the mains were just ok but the desserts were not done well at all.
Music too loud for venue type. Otherwise wonderful food, great price.
We've been to this restaurant before and this time tried their 'Dine Out' menu.
Very disappointing. Salty soup and badly overcooked gnocchi.
Service as always was wonderful.
Delicious and amazing value.
Waited for a long time and had to flag the server after a long absence to get drink refills...
And the one thing that will probably keep us away though, was the head chef yelling constantly at the top of his lungs announcing whatever dish was ready for pick up or at his kitchen staff. Extremely annoying, so loud we often couldn’t each other’s conversation with each other, and just constant disruption and interference with our experience to the point that we discussed how we should get on yelp about this. Really destroyed the ambiance, and what otherwise could have been a lovely evening.

I would recommend this restaurant but NOT for or during Dine Out Vancouver. The food is mass produced so it lacks the personal touch that I am used to in this restaurant.
It is very loud and the open style kitchen contributes largely to the sound pollution.
Staff friendly and service good.
Don’t even come for Dine Out here. Portion was so tiny (chicken).
Went during dine out Vancouver. The service was quick, good portion sizes and great tasting food!
Good place, but bad night. The Dine Out gnocchi was overcooked to the point of being mush, but the appetizer and dessert were okay. I also got a horribly painful stomachache shortly after eating, preventing me from enjoying the experience. Overall very disappointing, as I have been to Trattoria several times and always loved it. I hope this was just a fluke and not indicative of their future quality.
We attended Trattoria for Dine Out Vancouver, and while the menu was only $25pp, it definitely wasn't worth it.
The service we received was fine -our server was polite and welcoming at the beginning, but rarely checked in on us. However, the food was extremely sub-par. I had the gnocchi and my partner had the veal t-bone. My gnocchi was cooked to mush, with the pasta barely holding its shape (it was more like eating mashed potatoes than pasta). On the other hand, the veal t-bone was chewy and cooked inconsistently. Unfortunately, we were not able to bring these problems to the attention of our server as he did not check in on us until we were ready for the bill.
All in all, I would not recommend Trattoria -for Dine Out at least.
Great value Dine Out. Food was delicious and great service.
Another excellent experience at this restaurant. Friendly front of house, super chefs and good food make this a place we will continue to come back to.

This was a birthday celebration and we informed the restaurant. No acknowledgement, no greeting the birthday person. Food was mediocre at best.
Birthday lunch with friend
We went for Dineout Vancouver. My partner and I both had the french onion soup, and she had the chicken entree while I had the veal so we could both taste them, and the fruit smash for dessert. The french onion soup was rich, and one of the better ones I've had. We both agreed that the chicken tasted a bit off, with a very poor portion size. There was more breading than there was chicken. The veal t-bone was absolutely amazing! It was tender, flavourful, and a pretty generous portion size. The dessert was very fun, with cream, meringue, and an assortment of fruits and purees to mix and try together. A bit on the noisier side, but our service was always friendly but not overbearing. Overall we were definitely happy with our experience, and will be back. Maybe we'll skip the chicken though.
Tried the dine out menu and everything was fantastic. Pear and prosciutto was a nice combination of textures and flavours. The t-bone was amazing too. And the dessert is light and sweet. Will come back!

We had a 3-course meal but unfortunately our entree came before our appetizer. Waitress was unapologetic and nowhere to be found. Seems like she was trying to avoid our table. Unacceptable for any restaurants!

The veal t-bone was tough. The chicken Milanese was bland.

Yes - we had rude diners beside us who did intrude on our meal but this was not a reflection on the staff, service or quality of the food

Over all disappointing . Service not great - she seemed uninterested in serving- not much input . Food very average . Been to Tratt over the years and enjoyed it . Think its gone downhill
Probably won’t return

The Cena di Famaglia dinner was DELICIOUS and the amount of food we had for $49 was amazing. Cheers, Lori & Al
Food was not bad but the quality has been going down a little since a couple years. Service was not bad as well but our server disappeared for a little while. I did really like the carbonara though! My friends weren't a big fan
My wife and i decided to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary at Trattoria as we also had Chan centre tickets for that evening and the 15 minute commute was great.
We arrived at 4:30...very quiet...by 6 pm it was obviously busy and much noisier...no big deal... just be sure to get an inside table and not a perimeter table.
The food was very good... the service as well... my only '" downer"... the bartender dropped the ONE bottle of Lemoncello and i didn't get my favourite after dinner night-cap!! Stuff happens !!!
FYI- we didn't choose Trattoria because it was inexpensive... which it is not. But... we definitely got what we paid for. Thank you for a terrific meal.
Really good value as it was Wine Wednesday! 50% off bottles of wine and not a restricted list!
Beet salad was good and the mushroom risotto was amazing...just what I was craving!
Service was great! The restaurant was lively!
WAAAAAY TOOOOOO LOUD!!!!!!
It was quite noisy , but to be expected coming up to Christmas.
Severs were very helpful and food arrived swiftly.
Only suggestion / more veggie - vegan options would be good
Had a nice meal - was a little loud but otherwise excellent
It got very very warm in the restaurant when it was full - that would be my only complaint other than the server had trouble getting our wine orders correct.
Hi RebeccaG, Thank you for taking the time to review our restaurant. Yes, it can get warm sometimes with so many people, we are more than happy to adjust the temperature if anyone is uncomfortable. I apologize for the errors from our server with your wine order. This feedback allows us to see the mistakes and provide coaching to our team so they can provide the best service possible. See you again Soon!
Food was ok, pasta was salty and a little dry and the noise level was very high and intrusive on conversation
The food was good. We tried a number of different menu items including the Calamari, Beet Salad, Gnocchi, Spaghetti and meatballs, eggplant parmigiana, and crab and lobster ravioli. I would highly recommend the calamari, beet salad and eggplant. We will be going back next time we are in the area.
Great overall dining experience! My friend and I both have dietary restrictions currently and the staff were extremely helpful and thorough in ensuring that our needs were accommodated.
The food was very salty and very small portions. Seriously overpriced.
We often have a great experience at Trattoria but this time it was awful. My partner and I shared the Pasta Platter and it came out cold/overcooked. I wouldn’t recommend going to this location.
