My sister and I had great dining experience at Trattoria. The location is convenient for us; we enjoyed the food particularly the Italian donut desert
Overall was great, service was amazing. Nit-picking details, the table had a spot of tomato sauce left and the bread came late but the manager made sure to take it off the bill. So, reiterating, amazing service from the staff.
A bit too noisy for a romantic dinner. Bruschetta was a bit soggy and lacking flavour, but the Mains were fantastic.
Fabulous service. Servings a bit small for the price but tasted delicious. Found it s bit noisy but all open plan restaurants are. Would definitely recommend .
We enjoyed the ambience, friendly staff, food presentation, and tasty food, but unfortunately found the pasta to be far too oily. I understand the oil is necessary to carry the flavour in the sauce but can’t it be scaled down? If not for that, I would rave about this place to all my friends but as is, I ended up with indigestion and not sure I would return.
we celebrated my son's 25th birthday, and I did mention it when I made the reservation,as well as to the waiter. It would have been nice to have some sort of acknowledgement from the restaurant in the form of
a slice of cake or complimentary meal.out
As well we had asked for bread with the meal and were told the restaurant had run out. This was at 830pm.
I am not sure if I would return. We all really like the ambiance.
The food was excellent until I had a shard of glass in my dessert. Went home with a bleeding tongue. They handled it very well.
Service was a bit slow but it was also busy.
It was quite loud for a work group to carry on a conversation. I would go back.
Expensive for the food quality. Honestly we expected better. Service was slow and staff not trained well when you compare to places like Cactus, Moxies, Chop etc. Likely won’t be back.
Our server was good.
The food not so much we tried two different pasta options and both were not good. We both ended up sending them back and going somewhere else to eat.
After the manager tried to have us pay for the meals we did not consume.
Will never go back.
Great evening, the service was outstanding we were never left waiting and food was excellent.
Food was not worth the value of price! I ordered the shrimp pizza and the dough was extremely dry and somewhat burnt- there was also all of 5 shrimp on the pizza.... My fiancé ordered a shrimp pasta- and it was extremely watered down- not at all impressed. Expectations should have been low going in, as with the rest of the Glowbal chain. Wouldn’t recommend coming here
Great service, not outstanding but good food. Server was very friendly and courteous. Manager very attentive. Great customer service experience.
Great night out at Trattoria. I tried the new chicken cacciotore and it did not disappoint.
Excellent service. We wanted a steak, but was hesitant to take the 10 oz steak on the menu since both my friend and I are not big meat eater. The waitress reacted favorably to our suggestions that we split a steak and we ordered a couple of side dishes of cheese bread, vegetables and potatoes to complement our steak.
She also was very accommodating when my friend wanted a special drink, but wanted to switch vodka for gin.
This is an excellent location for a business lunch or dinner.
Loved their Truffle Spagetti. Addicted for life. Thank you. Huggies.
Where do I start?? Perhaps from the time we entered the restaurant. The lady who welcomed us wasn't the friendliest and after we told her we had a reservation, 3 other employees came over to us and asked for how many people. After we got to the table, our server was nice. He seemed new (he was wearing a black uniform rather that white like most of the servers) but he was nice and friendly. We wanted to add an appetizer to our order and couldn't find our service, so I called for the server with the glasses who was near us (he was wearing white uniform) and he was rude and unpleased for being called by us. I asked if we could add the Caprese to our order and he said, "Sure, but I'm not your server, tell that to your server the next time you'd like to add an order." Then he went on looking on for our server and our server came over and confirming the additional order. We were so baffled by this. In addition to all these, in the span of 2 hours we were there, 3 different people that works there broke piles (I say piles because we saw piles of them fell when two of them was working on them) of glasses behind the bar (which was right behind us, or to be precise, my 7 o'clock). The food was mediocre, we've had better. The ravioli had some dry spots and edges, the truffle spaghetti was dry and bland and meatballs was cold. The whole experience was honestly unimpressed even for their "cocktail hour", we feel like we overcharged for that kind of dining.
It was great!
Great for families, great for friends, great for couples.
The item the waiter recommended was a tiny portion, quite a bit overpriced. Would do my own "homework" next time.
Restaurant was only one third full yet we could not have the table of our choice. We were told it was reserved yet no one ever came. Food was disappointing. Seems to have gone downhill since my last visit. Not the server’s fault. She was friendly and attentive.
Food, patio and service was great. Thanks. Will be back
The food was very good, albeit small portions. Our biggest complaint was that we could only get reservations through Open Table at 5pm but the place was completely empty. Next time, we'd just do a walk in.
We were seated inside in hopes of escaping the heat, however, the air-conditioning was turned off and the front door left wide open. The thermostat on the wall indicated it was 27c inside. Most of the staff were visibly sweating. Not sure if the a/c was out of service, but enjoyment of the meal suffered as result.
I had booked because of an anniversary but no one came by to wish us.
We frequent Trattoria... and I think this was our best experience by far!! It was pasta Tuesdays, so all pastas were $13...We went for lunch this time... a little bit less busy... so our food came out nice and hot, (not like the previous Tuesday evening rush, where the pasta was a bit on the warm and not hot side. Taste of the food doesn't disappoint either visit! My favorite is Truffled Spagetti with meatballs!
We were seated and the waitress didn’t read the notes on the reservation. Also only took my husbands order. She quickly realized she had forgot and came back to correct. Service was wonderful after that.
Glowbal chain provides consistent top level service and dining experience
We enjoyed our food and service but the traffic noise was fairly loud.
The shared appetizer dish cost $19.95/head. This is was ridiculously expensive for what was given. We ordered 3 portions for the 4 of us. This contained 3 slices of very thick Parma ham (too thickly sliced for it to taste good). 3 overcooked arancini balls. Three good meatballs, a good amount of calamari and a small splodge of burrata (for this price we should have received a whole one) and some dried up pieces of pita bread. At $60 this was very overpriced. At $20 it may have been good value. On top of this is was lukewarm - a really strange temperature. It seemed that this just hangs out in warm lights until someone is unlucky enough to order it. This is a shame as the main courses and desserts were good. Please avoid the group appetizer plate and you will have a good meal. It was a birthday party and it seemed churlish to complain and ruin it.
I forgot this Glowbal restaurant is the worst of the bunch. The food did not taste very good. My stuffed eggplant was too salty. The tomato sauce tasted funny. Food aside, our server got off work at 530 and we were left waiting for our entry for over an hour until we approached the manager who then realized no one was actually looking after us. The food basically came out luke warm. It was a big disappointment all in all. The restaurant was not that busy even on father’s day, which I guess is a sign.
We had a great server, Juliana, and she helped us with decisions. She was helpful, personable and friendly! Thoroughly enjoyed our evening!
Great tasty food.
The food was good. Appetizer (calamari) was excellent. The pasta was ok. My husband had the linguine carbonara and thought it was excellent. The cheese bread was ok. The Brussels sprouts were perfection. The lemon tart was ok but the raspberry sorbet that came with it was to die for. All in all a good meal with some real high points and yet some things were unspectacular. The service was wonderful. The table selection for groups of 2 was rather odd in that we were all kind of shoved into the same corner.
We ordered pizza since the Italian pizza chef was at the restaurant that day - but - the they forgot the artichokes and the pizza was not cooked enough. I guess my expectations were high seeing who was cooking it!!
Despite good service and good food (small portion), it is noisy and hard to keep a conversation (tables too close from each other, noise from the kitchen..)
Our server Ian was too busy with another table and did not even bother to greet us or offer us water for the longest time. Eventually I had to flag down a girl asking who our server was. She said it was Ian and she ended up serving us. I had an infant child with me and no one even offer me the children menu. I had to ask for it. I would not recommend this restaurant or will I come back again.
The pasta and excellent wine list make Trattoria in Burnaby a safe bet for a good lunch. Couple that with half price wine by the bottle on Wednesday’s and it’s something to plan well in advance. Service is attentive but never intrusive. Wednesday lunch at Trattoria in Burnaby will be a regular occurrence.
Food was delicious. The atmosphere was perfect. Thank you.
