Trattoria Italian Kitchen - Burnaby Ratings and Reviews
Service is quite good here and it's nice that they serve complimentary appetizers! Everyone is very friendly and pleasant. They check back a few times to make you're satisfied with the food.
First visit and will return again soon. Upbeat but not too loud. Our server Ian was great, as was the menu options. Our party of 5 enjoyed the happy hour and a lovely dinner.
Came here for NYE dinner. Opted for the special for the night. Surf and turf platter. It didn't disappoint. The service was really great too!
We went here for my husband's birthday. Everything we ordered was very tasty including dessert. They were also kid friendly. I would have liked more chocolate dessert options. I did feel slightly under pressure to make sure our party was out by a certain time as I was reminded 3 times that there was another reservation after me-I think once over the phone when I confirmed my reservation was more than enough reminder to leave at a certain time. Our waiter was very attentive and kept everything moving efficiently. Thanks! Will come again!
I have been to trattoria a number of times and found that this past visit wasn't up to our usual service. I ordered the Gnocchi with chicken (An extra $4) and had to ask the waitress where the chicken was in my meal. The chicken was shredded to the point it was unidentifiable and looked the same as the gnocchi. We had booked for 5pm but then received a call prior to arriving stating that because it was Christmas season that we would have to be out by 7pm at the latest as our table was reserved for someone else. When we arrived the reservation was not under my name and someone else had changed it to our company name. When we were there the restaurant was not full but food service was slower than expected (there were 8 of us) so we were charged the 18% on top of the bill (their policy and we were aware). I normally wouldn't have had a problem but I have been spoiled by previous visits to the establishment, when service and food quality were excellent. Considering this was pre-booked through open table, it should not have been an issue. Hopefully it was just a one of, as we generally book a large group there, any time we are in town.
We’ve been here often and had great food. However, our last experience was terrible. The food was not up to regular standard and several of us got so sick. So much so, my husband expressed his displeasure all over the car.
I really hope that this was just an off night. I will try one more and would recommend with caution.
Amazing experience! Very nice place and the service was excellent. Food was just awesome.. compliments to the chef
Pasta specials night so prices very good. Our table ordered 3 linguine vingole, and my plate had 8 clams while my fellow diners had 20+ per plate. I let our waiter know. He said he'd let the kitchen know about it. I wasn't offered more clams to make up for it. Felt like the wait staff forgot about it all. Loud music made it difficult to have a conversation.
Took the wife for her birthday. This was our fifth visit and Trattoria Italian Kitchen did not disappoint. We had an 8 pm reservation, but arrived 15 minutes early. We had the option of waiting for a table at 8 or seating right away in the bar/lounge, we chose the bar.
The ambiance in this place was superb and the food delicious. The noise level is moderate which was fine for us. The lighting perfect for our special occasion dinner. From the grilled Brussel sprouts with lemon, capers, chillies, Parmigiano-Reggiano to the Tiramisu, and the pastas (Linguine Gamberi , Smoked Salmon Radiatori and the salads) in between, all were delicious. Will we come back, yes!
Great service, wonderful food, was a great experience from start to finish
Amazing service especially from GM, Giovanni. We were well taken care of. And my 2.5 yr old toddler, who is picky, loved his mac'n cheese and was entertained by their colouring kit given at being seated. LOVE this location!
Very busy and noisy. Good for group of loud friends, not so good for a quiet dinner
A real find! Excellent food and service! Al dente pasta and amazing cheese bread. Rich chocolate gelato and fruit garnish was a perfect end to our meal. Yum!!
Enjoyed every bite. Food was delicious and staff was delightful. Don't walk, RUN, to this place
Servers are inattentive.....worse on Sundays. We went again on Sunday and it was terrible. Management was different and we also sat outside. Terrible wait, warm water etc. etc. no apologies.
Very disappointing. My family and I dined there for my birthday. The portions were extremely small. We ordered three different pasta dishes and were not happy with any of them. From the blandest sauce ever to a bowl full of olives and capers, we left there hungry and dissatisfied. Never going back!
Great pasta, much like last time! I had the linguine gamberi, which was an assortment of flavours in my mouth. I enjoyed every bite of it.
The food was fresh n vibrant. The traditional pizza, cooked in a traditional round pizza oven was amazing. As close to italy as you can get here. It would have been too noisy for my parents but we enjoyed it. Our 7 year old loved it too. One small criticism is fresh made pasta instead of dried pasta would elevate it slightly
Love the atmosphere and setting. The open kitchen as well as the stone(?) oven was a nice feature to look at while feasting on some delicious pasta. I had the linguine carbonara, which was creamy and the noodles were great, but lacked a bit of flavor. I would love to come back and try other pastas and dishes though!
Took my bf on a date here to check the place out. Too noisy and the waitress was grumpy and paid more attention to the other tables than to us and when she did she assumed my bf was paying and was really ignored me and talked to my bf about menu rather than to both of us. Drinks took a long time to arrive and some of the appetizers were way too salty. Wouldn't recommend. Music is too loud to have a conversation. Not worth the price.
Usually kind of noisy inside the restaurant, so when weather is nice, like to sit on the patio.
Food is always good here... Service was lacking tonight though... Maybe because it was Cheap pasta night as the waiter pointed out to us... A tad bit disappointed with this experience.
In celebration of a birthday, we went to Trattoria Burnaby to try it out, and it coincided with cheap pasta night. The food was good, the service was better, and the outdoor seating was heated and relaxing. To get the most value out of your meal, Tuesday nights and during Happy Hour would be your best bet.
Worst ever service and food is so-so. Will not recommend this place.
Good restaurant and the atmosphere is excellent! The Tuesday pasta day is a must go.
We enjoyed the food experience, but the noise level on the upper level was uncomfortably too loud.
Service was poor not attentive and noisy .. I brought my friends there to show them the great food..they offer which they agreed but said was disappointing in service and noise level
the music at the Burnaby location was too loud .. good for younger generation but a bit too much for us. Food and service was very good :)
Jennifer the waitress was absolutely fantastic, she was friendly, professional and made sure we were well looked after.
Exceeded our expectations! Thanks, Jesse, for looking after us with such flair!
The food was delicious and half price bottles of wine!!
We waited over 1.5 hours to get our main dish. Significantly understaffed for Valentine's Day, which is ridiculous. Efforts made to comp us for the terrible service. VERY disappointing as the previous week the experience had been very positive.
Made reservations which bypassed all the suckers waiting. Seating placements were close to each other so i could hear our neighbours conversations. Service was fine as they checked on our meals. But my ny steak meal looked burnt in the dark ambience and tasted a bit overcooked to my liking. Also it came with a whole plate full of brussel sprouts. Who eats that much brussel sprouts... Another thing is that sitting by the kitchen we kept on hearing one staff yelling out "next" every few mins which got annoying. This 1 and only visit is good enough for me.
The food is okay. Some are good and some are no good. First pizza we tried was a disaster, calamari was salty but the spaghetti with meatballs was good as well as the brussel sprouts.
Always good value. Only complaint would be the noise, it can be noisy - so if you want quiet and romantic, this is not the place.
Went here during dine out for dinner. Service was slow, long wait between each course. Our waitress forgot we had dessert coming still and asked us if we wanted the bill. Overall, the food was good but slow. Noise level too loud to be conducive for conversations unless you like to shout across the table. We were a party of 4 plus a 5 year-old, it would have been nicer to put in a quieter area.
Wasn't too bad, we had to wait a little for our food and the food itself was pretty decent! It was very filling but nothing out of the ordinary
Their pasta Tuesday is a great value! The wall of wine is fabulous.
Overall is ok. Need more training on new server. If server doesn't have enough experience, train them. Overall I will re-visit this restaurant.
Service not good
Worse one from the glowbal collection
