Trattoria Italian Kitchen - Park Royal
Saturday and Sunday 10am to 11pm.
Brunch 10am to 2pm.
Happy Hour 2pm to 5pm.
Happy Hour 9pm to Close.
Always a pleasant experience dining at Trattoria
Great service! Amazing food! I would highly recommended.
Food was divine but service was just okay (he was perfectly nice but messed up drink order). Ambience was a bit overwhelming until the two-dozen 16 year-olds finally left 🙏
All dishes served were fine at 3pm.
Only one dish ordered - mussels had passed expiry, extremely funky.
Returned back with no answers.
Pasta Tuesday is great, and a good way to sample all the dishes over time.
We ordered the burrata appetizer, which was good. Then we ordered the lamb shank for our main course and it was AWFUL. It arrived looking like an anemic piece of meat, boiled in water without accompaniment of any type of sauce. Normally, a lamb shank would come with a reduction sauce derived from what it was braised in and this came with nothing on it and tasted very bland.
The atmosphere is stark with concrete floors that allow the noisy atmosphere of screaming children (next to our table) to be magnified. It is not how we imagined our Saturday evening dinner to be.
The wine we chose was lovely. Too bad it was drowned out by the baby at the table behind us. If you are looking for a kid friendly experience then this may suit you. If you are on a date, forget about it.
We loved the Italian Kitchen on Alberni Street. It was our favourite restaurant in Vancouver.
This is not the that Italian Kitchen. The food, ambiance and service were all disappointing.
Tuesday pasta day is a great idea at an affordable price for families.
Excellent service - excellent food.
Really disappointing. Short on kitchen staff. Took extremely long for food to come out. And when it finally arrived it was completely cold. Unacceptable from Trattoria, which is usually an exceptional experience
Tratorria to the Rescue!
When another closeby restaurant crapped out on easy access due to a huge lineup we returned to one of our favorites, Tratorria and they came through again! Easy, breezy, seating that, in retrospect, was probably way better than our first choice.
We have a new first choice now!
1st visit to Trattoria Park Royal..always go to West 4th location. Everything was perfect except my daughters meal was 20 mins late and cold as it sat somewhere unattended. The Manager on duty did come by to apologize and took that off the bill.
Superb service and fantastic food...all on a beautiful rooftop patio. Can't ask for more. Great happy hour as well.
Enjoyed the pasta platter for 2 as we can sample several different pastas. Favorites included the lobster ravioli, the truffled spaghetti and meatballs, and the gnocchi. The dark chocolate filled mini Italian donuts were delicious. The downside was the lack of acknowledgement of our anniversary even though that was spelled out in the reservation. Another downside was that although the patio was lovely, the elevator between the main floor and the upstairs patio had an off odour to it.
Our pizza was slow and when it arrived it was the wrong pizza. No pineapples. Instead of leaving it for us to eat, it was taken away and all they did was add pineapples to the pizza and reheated it and came back with burnt edges. They could have given us a new fresh pizza.
It was not complimentary on our bill.
Service was amazing. The salmon was great, but why it was served with over 1cup of celery & onions is beyond me.
What a treat to sit on the Trattoria rooftop patio and enjoy yummy pasta and icy cold drinks. Our server Jamie was very efficient and had a great personality. While the cuisine didn't take our breath away the experience as a whole was really chic.
Great service-- very friendly from the arrival to the exit-- only problem was that we sat adjacent to three young families and the husbands had to keep trying to out vocalize each other so the sound was moderately loud at times.
We celebrated my mom’s retirement. The staff were very friendly and had lots of good suggestions from the menu! We will definitely be going back.
Our service was excellent, all staff extremely pleasant and attentive. Having seen our cards and gifts Our waitress surprised us with birthday cake. An all round great dining experience
Great waitress and good food
We had a good meal there was some confusion in either service or kitchen. But the manager made it all good in the end. Food was very good. We will give it another shot sometime.
fantastic meal and atmosphere! we will be back! great service
Was really good - and can't complain with their tratt tuesday special but my truffled spaghetti was so bland it honestly didnt taste like much more than the noodle itself. quite a disappointment considering how much i was craving it. If it was 23$ i would have sent it back but for $13 i just bit it in the nose.. will think twice about visiting on tratt tuesday again
Excellent service, nice atmosphere and good food. Experience was very enjoyable. Savannah is a wonderful server !!
Mother, daughter andI went for mother's day brunch. Excellent 'mocktails'! I had the classic Benny which was described as having prosciutto but came with shaved ham. Poached eggs were perfect but English muffin was burnt and could not be cut. I asked for no potatoes and extra greens.... basic but fresh, nothing fancy. My daughter had the Benny as well substituting the (proscuitto) with avocado to make it vegetarian. Server and kitchen were most obliging. My Mom had the waffles which were described as coming with blueberries but came with blackberries. Had to ask for syrup and whip cream ...The upstairs patio was perfect on this sunny day and our server made our time most enjoyable. Room for improvement: food and the hostesses (training??) I will give them another try!
Food came out cold or half frozen. They quickly brought us new dishes... And one dish still came out half frozen (rissoto balls). It was obvious it was made fresh at all. If it wasn't for the great server, this restaurant would have had worse reviews.
Food was alright, but not great......bathrooms were messy
I had a salad that I'm pretty certain came with no dressing so it was dry - I did ask for dressing and it came or the salad would have been really boring. I believe it was to have "soprasetta" and it had none. The salad was ok but for the price, I think it could have came with more than 2 tiny pieces of bread for 2 people. Server was excellent and friendly. Decor was very nice.
I had been wanting to try out Trattoria since it opened and honestly, I was disappointed. We were seated downstairs initially. I found the fans extremely noisy creating almost a wind-tunnel effect so we asked to be moved to the rooftop seating which was definitely superior in terms of noise and ambience. It was quite lovely up there. It was my birthday and that information had been included in the reservation but there was no recognition of it at the restaurant, no special celebration, not even a spoken happy birthday. The menu has a nice selection but apparently was being changed over and so they didn't have a number of the dishes that were included on it. I ordered mussels but they had to substitute clams. My son ordered a pizza but they were out of the kind of sausage that was on the menu. The food was nicely presented and the flavours were good. The prices were fairly reasonable. I would probably return to give it another try ... Perhaps they were having a bad day .....
Our meals were delicious but the not very at all. I really should have sent it back, but was hungry so just ate fast. It would have been nice to have some dinner rolls of some kind.
A friend and I celebrated both of our birthdays here the other night. The squash pizza was fabulous. The server mentioned we would get a free dessert, but it never materialized and then we had to leave as going to a play. Overall it was an excellent evening.
Didn’t appreciate the fact that they could not brew a fresh pot of coffee for us when requested. They did offer americani instead but that was not we wanted. It was about 9:30 pm on. Saturday night!!
Great...but a bit too loud...difficult at times to hear conversation
We went on Tuesday which is the discount pasta night, so it was very busy. But we were seated and not attended to by an server for at least 10 minutes. The table that came after us was. We finally got served and ordered our food. I received the wrong type of wine and had to send it back. I've had the calamari at Italian Kitchen twice and thought it was amazing. But we got calamari, and that was the worst we've ever had. We sent it back. The manager ( I believe he was the manager) was super nice and helpful, he took the time to talk to us and told us we would have a sweet treat at the end. It made things better finally. We got out meals and they were good, but I had meatballs with mine and they were not as good as I remembered. We finished up and the manager brought us the dessert, which was delicious. He did a really good job turning things around and I wasn't going to right a review... but then I got sick from the food, likely the meat balls. So overall it was a very dissatisfying experience other than the lovely manager who tried to make it right for us. After this bad experience and getting sick, we don't plan to ever return to this restaurant.
At 7:30 on a Sunday evening we were seated immediately and had a choice of several tables. Our server was attentive, took our order when we were ready and delivered the food a short time later. It arrived hot and was delicious and done well. I had Short Rib Pappardelle while my wife had Spaghetti Carbonara. The portions were large and we took some home for another meal. We asked the manager some questions about the name and what Trattoria means and were given several minutes of his time chatting about the place and the food. There was a large group of about 14 or so diners that was seated when we arrived and were still there when we left. A young family beside us had a good time as well with children well fed and falling asleep as they left. We were told that we could stay on and enjoy the table as long as we wanted. All in all - a great evening that we will come back again for. There are lots of pastas and salads left to try!
Ample quantities of fresh salad and delicious pizza made sharing easy for a friends’ get together lunch. Good and prompt service made for an enjoyable experience.
my dinner at trattoria was on a saturday evening.
i went with a dear friend who had never been before.
the atmosphere and vibe of trattoria is so wonderful...i love it.
the food was exceptional...my only feedback is that the timing of courses arriving at the table could have been better.
i will be back for sure!
Our server Michal took really good Care of us. The food was outstanding. Many restaurants don’t give the option of ordering from the a la carte menu on days when there are specials but trattoria gave us that option.
Service and wine selection was wine selection was good. Appetizer was too heavily breaded for my liking. Main course veal was tough and dry. Restaurant did an excellent job of rectifying the meals and get full marks for the service they provided. Overall a good experience and I would return.
