Our server was what you would like, attentive (without being over the top), friendly and helpful about making our choice. Although the seating is fairly close to other diners, it was fine for us, but perhaps not if you were on a date night. Our dinner, Caesar salads and pasta (for me), and with gnocchi for my daughter were just right size wise and with a beverage the perfect pre-theatre meal. Nice ambience, and a cosy spot on a cold night!
Dinner before movie. Calamari, spaghetti with meatballs and pizza were all delicious! Service was excellent and the bonus was that all bottles of wine were 50% off Wednesday nights! This will be habit forming...
Love this restaurant, so delicious! Brian is an outstanding server, he made our experience so great. Thank you!
We have been dining here for years. Great food and service.
I went on a date at this restraunt, servers were friendly and the ambience was nice
Great value especially Wednesday night with 1/2 off wine. Good food, reasonably priced. I like it.
Great food and good variety on the menu. Had a super waiter, Nicholas, who gave excellent and timely service. It’s my favourite place in Kitsilano.
We have had a couple of fabulous meals here on previous visits to Vancouver and were looking forward to another good experience. The food has gone way down hill. This is not good Italian cooking. The minestrone soup was more like pasta sauce. The calamari were boring. There was no finesse to anything.
The waitress seemed irritated she had to serve us and wasn’t very good. The food was good the serving size was very small and very over priced. Periodically a server would come and step on the bench right beside me, with their shoes in, to get a bottle of wine from the wall above.
I wouldn’t go back.
Good ambiance and service. We found the calamari appetizer slightly soggy(not as crisp as Greek restaurants) and most of our dishes were slightly salty.
I love the Spaghetti with meatball. Can't recommend this dish.
Great service from Brian. Good was served quickly and arrived hot. We enjoy the tratch a lot and will definitely come back soon
Good food and server was attentive to details. Will be back!
We shared the Caprese Salad to start and it was truly wonderful made with freshly made cheese and a variety of flavourful tomatoes, absolutely delicious. Pastas were great too! If you are looking for Italian food, this is an excellent choice.
Great place , awesome , wine list little expensive
Have to say ... Trattoria was disappointing. Our favourite pasta dish was no longer on the menu ... and the burrata salad has gone downhill. As in .... where’s the burrata .... but great service and nice room. Menu just isn’t what it used to be.
Excellent service and delicious food. It was a totally enjoyable experience and I will add this to my list of favourite restaurants.
Very good food. Prices are reasonable. Tables are close together and it is a bit nosy.
Went for brunch food and service were outstanding nice atmosphere and great location
An older Global venue, but a classic too. Nice option before a movie at the 5th Avenue. Love the brussel sprouts, could make a meal out of them, as good here as any Global restaurant. Service not as tight as other Globals, maybe just a new waitress?
Was here for brunch with a buy up and the food wasn’t too bad. I took stars off because someone had used my buy up so I had to basically pay twice for my meal. Not the restaurants fault but will do my own due diligence next time and check if I still have an active buy up before sitting
always one of my favourite places to go to. i love good authentic italian food and the service is always on point.
Great service and good food
comfortable and casual environment
good for family gathering
The food was definitely sub standard- and the service about the same - they were unable to make a latte with soy/almond milk - this is Kitsilano! I’ve been there twice and both times - not at all impressed-
We chose Trattoria for brunch because of a special promotion we received and we had never been. The deal of the promotion was excellent value. The food was excellent and we appreciated the option to exclude meat from our brunch platter.
A few notes of improvement:
- For a restaurant on W4th and in Kits Trattoria needs to have non dairy options such as Soy or Almond milk when I asked they said no just regular milk AND I heard other guests make the request as well
- Included with our promotion was dessert which the server said she would bring and she ended up forgetting and we left without it - that left a bit of a disappointment for us
Overall as mentioned it was excellent value for brunch for two and the food was great.
Brian was great a great host
yum - food was delicious and I had to be rolled out of the restaurant because I ate so much. Totally worth it.
We had a mix up with our dinner order, so one entree had to be redone, and therefore we didn't get to eat together, which was disappointing. The wine we ordered was not in stock, so we had to upgrade to a more expensive one. But the food was delicious, and the server was apologetic, so we were ok.
We came for a quick dinner before the Theatre and were impressed. I enjoyed the Beef Carpaccio, the Gamberi Genoese Pizza and best of all the Crab and Lobster Ravioli.
I could have eaten it all again. I would totally recommend coming for a visit.
Very good food, a lot of choices between typical Italian dishes, pizza pasta milanese scallop... and an nice wine list, that we enjoyed especially with the 50% off on Wednesday.
Our waiter Greg, was very nice, speaking french with us when he heard our strong accent !!!
I recommend this place.
Good food. Friendly service. Always good.
Usually a good spot for for, but today the service was lackluster. Gin Martini arrived somewhat cool and not chilled,
the Caesar Salad was swimming in dressing and the salmon was undercooked even though we waited for quite a long time for food to be served.
The server would interrupt our conversation for food quality check barely a bite in, and it seemed like standard operating procedure rather than genuine interest and care.
Tiramisu was pretty delicious otherwise...but the whole food experience seemed rushed even though the place was half full on a Sunday early evening.
I'll be back, but I'll wager other choices before I come back here. Maybe it was just a bad night.
My server was not good. Food was a very greasy.it was not very kids friendly no air con I wouldn’t recommend this location on 4th
The food was excellent! Great choices, great taste! The service was great too!
We had a great fun evening and our server was Nicholas who was awesome. He allowed us our space yet was very attentive, engaging and funny.
We sat there for a good 20 mins before anyone came to our table to take our order. Tables that were seated after us got served before we were. I also saw the manager point to our table to a couple of waitresses/waiters but he was the one who ended up taking our orders. Seemed as if the waitresses/waiters were avoiding our table.
Spaghetti and meatballs was nothing special. Chicken cutlet was good.
Waffle was dry. Eggs for egg benefit feels like a hard boiled egg. Otherwise the rest of the food is okay.
My friend and I came here for brunch last Saturday. The food was good and our server was outstanding - he was above and beyond our expectations for outstanding service. I will come back again soon.
