Food is always amazing, great atmosphere.
Only odd thing was wine served in small tumblers.
Fantastic spot for date night!!
Always a lovely little place to dine. I'm a bit disappointed that the arrabiata isn't quite as deep, rich, and punchy as it once was -- used to have so much concentrated chilli and tomato that it looked almost like a bolognese sauce! Some things never change, though: the calamari is always so fresh and perfectly cooked.
As always the food and service were fabulous. Best gnocchi and calabrese pizza.
Pasta was good. Olive appetizer came with chilled eggplant and was excellent... best part of the meal. Service was very welcoming, professional and fast.
Quaint. Old school that I am missing. This was an excellent experience.
Food is amazing. Only problem is the restaurant is very small so it gets claustrophobic when there are too many people waiting in the queue.
Was very delicious and the service also wonderful, will return really soon....
Great pizza! Great value! Service is a bit slow
Great homemade Italian cooking in a homey setting that's calls me back time and time again. I love this place.
Calamari was a little too salty. Service was a little slow. Overall pasta was great and ambiance was nice. Would recommend.
Delicious homemade Italian food in a tiny cozy restaurant. Definitely try the gnocchi!
Great Italian restaurant in Toronto. Ordered the chicken parm and a Bellini.
Literally incredible food. Drinking wine out of lowball water cups is a little weird, but it's authentic Italian, whatever. Service is pretty good - wait staff is personable and energetic, just spread a bit thin. But seriously, INCREDIBLE food, and an overall awesome, authentic experience.
Such a lovely place to dine! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great. Definitely worth a visit!
We dined at this lovely Italian restaurant while visiting Toronto. Was within walking distance from our Air BNB. Very knowledgeable staff, tasty and traditional food in a small but cozy and lively establishment. Thoroughly enjoyed having our last meal in Toronto at Trattoria Taverniti!
Outstanding and authentic food, fantastic service, and just a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend this little gem of a restaurant.
The staff are extremely friendly. Not only are they quick, but they are courteous. The traditional/contemporary Italian playlist was the cherry on top. And the FOOD. The polpette is so good. The tomato sauce is unlike any other that I've tasted. My main dish, which was The Pappardelle ai Funghi Misti was prepared to perfection, as usual! I plan on returning, as well as letting other friends know about this place.
This is our second visit to this quaint, cozy family run Trattoria in Toronto. Our food always arrives piping hot deliciously made from skilled hands at the helm. I highly recommend Trattoria Taverniti if you are looking for a quiet spot to enjoy a lovely meal without shouting or competing with blaring music.
It’s always a pleasure to be there! One of the best pizza in town !
Six of us (a mix of colleagues and family) ate dinner at Trattoria Taverniti during a business trip/meetings near the convention center. It was nice to take a car to another part of the city (2.5 miles away). We got a better flavor of Toronto and had a delicious experience.
I am glad we had a reservation because the restaurant was small. The owner was there to greet us and we were seated right away.
After sharing appetizers of fried calamari and Proscuitto, we each ordered entrees (lasagna, gnocchi gorgonzolla, taglietelle al pesto, and spaghetti carbonarra). We also shared 2 bottles of pinot grigio and a few beers. The portions were exactly right. No leftovers, and then we shared two desserts.
My companions and I all loved the food and even started coveting the wood fire pizza being served at a nearby table. We had a great time!
The final meal, including tip, was $334 Canadian (about $250 US).
We had a lovely romantic evening, and the Italian Mother of the restaurant came out to greet us and tell us stories. The food was wonderful!
My boyfriend and I have been here twice now and each time is a wonderful experience! We will definitely be back with family and friends.
When we arrived, the staff seemed to be disorganized and it took several minutes before they acknowledged us and showed us to our table. They also tried to get us to agree to squeeze into a booth that would be a very tight fit for 4, but then agreed to give us a regular table for 4. Service was very inattentive, with little politeness or polish. All of the food was good, but nothing special (other than the meatballs, which were excellent - though they never brought us any bread for dipping, which would have been nice). Ambiance was fine, but not helped by the mediocre service and somewhat noisy atmosphere. All in all, ok, but disappointing.
great food and fantastic service
Lovely restaurant experience!
Love this place, the pizza was amazing. Was great that Nonna came out to say hello and ask us if everything was OK. Will definitely go back
In the Little Italy section, this restaurant gives you the real experience of a family run place with authentic Southern Italian food made with love. All was home made with fresh ingredients and served with a smile. As the place filled up, and it did with people waiting by dinner hour, it became a bit louder. A great place to eat with family and friends.
Friendly staff, authentic Italian cuisine and terrific service.
Always have an amazing meal at Taverniti. The pasta is so fresh and perfectly cooked.
Trattioria Taverniti is always the best! My favorite restaurant in little Italy - with amazing and authentic pasta. The service is outstanding, and the atmosphere is lovely. 11/10!
Restaurant is very cozy and authentically Italian. The gnocchi was fantastic.
Awesome! Great food and we were checked on a lot.
authentic Italian restaurant with a great menu, great atmosphere, a very enjoyable experience.
We would recommend Trattoria Taverniti to a friend because the menu has great variety, the ambience is very pleasant, the wine is affordable and the food is delicious tasting like it was made at home. the setting is within a comfortable community. The service is friendly and helpful.
What a great place. Nona is rocking it with food and the rest of the house is top notch on service. If you can, come here, you will be pleased.
Great friendly service and meal suggestions, with alterations. Really good Gnocchi!
Always cosy and fun with great service and amazing food
I love this place so much - by far my most favourite restaurant in Toronto. I have been here many times, however, last time we had to wait 50 min past our reservation to get a table. It ruined our experience of the restaurant as it was already late and we were tried of waiting. This is the first time this happened to me and I’m scared that this will continue to happen again.
