Was a very nice restaurant....excellent service from our server.
Food was good, pasta dishes do not include anything else (salad, etc). Coming from a city that has a lot of authentic Italian restaurants, we didn't find this one up to par with any of what we are used to.
The menu prices are also higher than the one shown online (maybe those are older menus). We enjoyed our meal but wouldn't go out of our way to go back.
Amazing, authentic Italian food. Will be back soon!
Birthday, no server for 10 minutes, no clearing of glasses, meals brought at different times, no bill for 20 minutes min, no attentiveness
The best food on college with the most lovely staff, just booked my birthday dinner here and can’t wait to be back
Notre deuxième visite et toujours très satisfaits. Les pizza et les pâtes sont excellentes et le service amical et attentionné! Nous y reviendrons à notre prochain séjour à Toronto.
Always amazing - good, simple food, great ambience and friendly service. Never disappoints!
We’ve been going there with my father almost every weekend for a year. It’s a cosy place with incredible food. But the reason Taverniti became our favourite place in Toronto is the lovely ladies who work there. Amazing people.
Average Italian food. Limited menu. Ok service. No AC.
Great food packed into this wonderful neighborhood gem.
This is a favourite little spot of mine. Food, service, atmosphere are all wonderful.
Really enjoyed this restaurant the food was authentic Italian food! Will definitely come back here next time we are in Toronto!!
If you're looking for simple, great tasting food this is for you.
Fantastic restaurant great food and excellent service
Went there with my girlfriend. No question the food was really good. Wouldn't hesitate going back for the food. A reservation is highly recommended as it get very busy. The noise was up there with the windows open and the cars passing by. There is no air conditioning so it was a bit too authentic for me in the dead heat of July. The service was poor to say the least - perhaps the server had a bad day.
Recently moved to Toronto. We’ve been trying out different Italian restaurants, and Trattoria Taverniti has been the best one by far.
Service was fast, friendly, and efficient. The food also came really fast. We both ordered pasta because we'd read such good reviews The Penne Arrabbiata, my husband's go-to standard, was disappointing, no zing, just a serviceable tonato sauce. My Penne Rosina with a rose cream sauce abd spicy salami was much better. The penne itself was nicely chewy and noticeably honemade but was too heavy a choice fior a hot 30 degree summer day. Speaking of which, the snall AC unit didnt make a dent and the small space was so hot, we were dripping with sweat despite sitting closest to the unit and didn't want to linger in the heat and noise of the small room. The tonato and fior di latte salad was also very average as was the unrenarkable chardonnay.
All in all, the food was good enough; but for the money and ambience, we regretted not going somewhere else.
Amazing food, great atmosphere, and they take reservations! Fabulous find on College W. The best pizza and gnocchi I’ve had in the city
Fantastic experience. Will definitely be coming back!
Fantastic a hidden gem we love the Taverniti!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the best if not the best Italian restaurant in Toronto. The food is of supreme quality and you can tell the recipes have been perfected over years. Lots of places claim to have Italian food but Ms. Taverniti really delivers! The restaurant is small but still has wonderful ambiance with a high attention to detail. Servers are extremely knowledgable and welcoming as well. I could have dinner here every night!
It is always a pleasure to dine here. The staff are wonderful and the food is excellent. We arrived way earlier than our reservation and they were more than happy to accommodate us. I would highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a cosy and relaxed dining experience.
Food is always amazing, great atmosphere.
Only odd thing was wine served in small tumblers.
Fantastic spot for date night!!
Always a lovely little place to dine. I'm a bit disappointed that the arrabiata isn't quite as deep, rich, and punchy as it once was -- used to have so much concentrated chilli and tomato that it looked almost like a bolognese sauce! Some things never change, though: the calamari is always so fresh and perfectly cooked.
As always the food and service were fabulous. Best gnocchi and calabrese pizza.
Pasta was good. Olive appetizer came with chilled eggplant and was excellent... best part of the meal. Service was very welcoming, professional and fast.
Quaint. Old school that I am missing. This was an excellent experience.
Food is amazing. Only problem is the restaurant is very small so it gets claustrophobic when there are too many people waiting in the queue.
Was very delicious and the service also wonderful, will return really soon....
Great pizza! Great value! Service is a bit slow
Great homemade Italian cooking in a homey setting that's calls me back time and time again. I love this place.
Calamari was a little too salty. Service was a little slow. Overall pasta was great and ambiance was nice. Would recommend.
Delicious homemade Italian food in a tiny cozy restaurant. Definitely try the gnocchi!
Great Italian restaurant in Toronto. Ordered the chicken parm and a Bellini.
Literally incredible food. Drinking wine out of lowball water cups is a little weird, but it's authentic Italian, whatever. Service is pretty good - wait staff is personable and energetic, just spread a bit thin. But seriously, INCREDIBLE food, and an overall awesome, authentic experience.
Such a lovely place to dine! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great. Definitely worth a visit!
We dined at this lovely Italian restaurant while visiting Toronto. Was within walking distance from our Air BNB. Very knowledgeable staff, tasty and traditional food in a small but cozy and lively establishment. Thoroughly enjoyed having our last meal in Toronto at Trattoria Taverniti!
Outstanding and authentic food, fantastic service, and just a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend this little gem of a restaurant.
The staff are extremely friendly. Not only are they quick, but they are courteous. The traditional/contemporary Italian playlist was the cherry on top. And the FOOD. The polpette is so good. The tomato sauce is unlike any other that I've tasted. My main dish, which was The Pappardelle ai Funghi Misti was prepared to perfection, as usual! I plan on returning, as well as letting other friends know about this place.
