Our meal was absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic!
Delicious food! And great service
The absolute best. We love Tanya and this amazing family ran establishment. Real authentic unpretentious Italian cuisine!
Had spaghetti and beat balks, and bruschetta. Done to perfection. Desserts were questionable and didn’t have the same quality.
The pizzas were excellent. The restaurant ambiance was perfect for our luncheon.
Take a step back into the past with this warm, traditional Italian restaurant with red gingham table cloths and rustic brick interior. Wood oven pizzas, gnocchi, bruschetta and calamari were all delicious menu items. A must stop in Little Italy, Toronto.
The service was ‘Excellent’ and the pizza was outstanding!
Once Nonna emerges from the kitchen you know that you have come to the right spot as this is a truly unique find in Toronto restaurants. Come on think about it, how many local restaurants have you been to where a 91 year old still oversees the operation.
This little spot is not fancy and the food is your basic Italian Fare, but it is all done right, making use of those time honoured, simple ingredients that for centuries have fed the appetites of the adoring masses.
Simply stated a meal at Trattoria Taverniti is like taking a quick trip to a small Italian town in the hills, where no doubt in many restaurants you'll find another Nonna hiding in the kitchen dishing out the amazing flavours of Italy.
Hurry... Nonna is waiting to feed you!
The food was delicious and tasted very fresh. Cute ambiance. Good portion sizes.
amazing restaurant. lovely atmosphere and fantastic food, can’t wait ti go back!
This has to be one of the best Italian food places in Toronto
Loved it. If I lived in Toronto it would be my go-to place.
Taverniti is my favourite restaurant for Italian food in Toronto. Their pastas and pizzas are always excellent and every single one is delicious. I come back here frequently. Taverniti is always my top craving
Great food and staff highly recommended
Disappointed in the food. It was good, not great. Took two guests plus wife and me.
Service excellent. Only dish that was finished was the shrimp appetizer which was excellent. Not one of the four finished their dish, including two of the four that ordered food while we were out 2 hours later.
The restaurant felt very crowed. I was surprised at just how small this spot is. The service was very good except that my meal came about 10 minutes after our table of four. Not the fault of the pleasant waitress. The food was o.k. Our next visit we will Definitely try another spot. I wouldn’t scratch this spot off my list but I’m sure there are better in the area. I give it about a 5/10
Went to Trattoria Taverniti to celebrate a family birthday. Decide to share most of the appetizers on the menu and a couple of pizzas. Complicated the server's role in delivery of the food, but they handled this with excellence. Perfect staggering of delivery so the table was never overwhelmed with food, but we never had to wait without food for another plate to arrive. Efficient and friendly. The food was excellent. Top quality ingredients combined/assembled in a straight forward no nonsense manner to please the taste buds. The only slight complaint was the calamari which was good, but have had better elsewhere. We did not order any "main" plates, so cannot specifically comment on these, but have little doubt these would be excellent as well.
The food was fantastic and the ambiance was perfect for a date! The gnocchi was magnifico
Great service, delicious food and they carefully adhered to covid regulations. A lovely evening
Had a great time there. The food was delicious and the service was on point.
Will definitely dine there again.
Great little italian restaurant. Nonna still oversees the dining room. Southern Italy home made dishes. can't go wrong.
We were one hour late for our reservation and yet the staff was so understanding and accommodating. The food was very good although my pizza was not as moist as it normally is. I absolutely love this restaurant and it’s warm atmosphere but did find it a little on the noisy side and hence it was hard to hear my friend talking sometimes. Still one of my favourite Italian restaurants!
A place I go to on special occassions. Always enjoyable and consistent.
The truffle pasta is amazing, this place never disappoints!
Cute space! But the music was tacky, too loud 80’s pop which was all wrong for the setting. They were 15 minutes late with our reservation leaving us to wait in the rain. They charged for sparkling water without warning ($6!!). And they don’t have real wine glasses? You drink wine out of a little cup, like for a child. And the pizza is better next door at Tav’s, their sister restaurant. Nice servers, though.
First time back to this restaurant since before COVID and it did not disappoint. Always a warm welcome, great food and ambiance - such a gem!
It's always awesome here. Our favourite *authentic Italian place in Toronto.
The place is small and cozy with staff that want to make your experience the best!
This place ruined my plans for my girlfriend’s birthday. Why on earth would you take a reservation and confirm it only to be closed? And it’s not an emergency closure or a last minute thing, they were always closed that day and didn’t bother to let me know. I used to brag about this place but I’m sincerely disappointed and likely never go back.
Amazing food and atmosphere. Thank you for one of the best birthday diners❤️
We love this place!! Thank you Rosina.
Awesome gnocchi and pizza. Real authentic Italian restaurant. Loved meeting the mother of the owner who passed down her reciepes
Food was very good though portions were a bit small. Service was extremely slow for a Sunday night. Took well over an hour to get our food. Marinara sauce was particularly good though salad was overdressed and oily.
Showed up for our reservation and the store was closed. There was a sign in the doorway saying to try the food at the place next door.
I made my reservation on open table and trekked down to the restaurant only to find a sign outside saying they were closed. I understand things happen but the least they could have done is notify me since they have both mu phone number and email. Very unprofessional.
Love the ambiance
Food was amazing, tastes so authentic. The customer service was outstanding as well, offering us water and checking on us. With a wide variety of choices from pasta to pizza, the food came i. so quick! Definitely would come again and try something new (or try the same dish again).
Wonderfull small Trattoria, with homemade pasta. Delicious!
Everything was just perfect. The food was amazing, the service fantastic.
One of the worst restaurant experiences I've had since living in Toronto. They made me wait an hour and 15 minutes to received my food. Pasta tasted like alphagetti I kid you not. My girlfriend said the exact thing and she's from Sicily.
Never coming back here again and I don't recommend anyone should.
