Truly wonderful food and service. I would recommend this to anyone for a bit of a splurge of excellence.
Great dining, waiter was very helpfully.
We dined outside on a very nice evening
Food was excellent. Great service. Limited menu, but enough to choose from. Note that the menu online differed from the actual menu.
I swooned when I saw a lobster sandwich on the early lunch menu. It was so filling we didn't eat again until nearly 10 in the evening. Perfect for a 2 play day, though just maybe the chef was a little generous with the duck fat on the perfectly sliced and toasted bread.
Delicious fresh green salad with baby garlic,I think, but slightly over sour. (The naughty sour lemon!)
Disappointed there was no salads on menu. Restaurant noisy. Quality of food was good. Price point high.
Lovely setting out on the patio to enjoy a perfect summer night. Chose outside as the inside was condensed and loud. Service was thorough and engaging. The halibut was overcooked and on the dry side-which happens sometimes-but I gave instructions to cook it medium rare and moist. The Cosmopolitan martini was served not in an "up" martini glass but a shallow "champagne" cupa glass.
The vegetables were very fresh and tasty and I applaud the farm to table execution.
We especially enjoyed the zucchini blossom appetizer and the strawberry dessert. Both were not only delicious but a treat for the eye.
Food was ok, nothing remarkable. We were looking for something special and this wasn't it. Also, the menu was limited.
Great food, had the airloom tomato salad, zuccini blossoms, linguini with wild mushroom and rabbit ragu and rainbow trout. All excellent well seasoned. Exceptional service.
Nice restaurant, great fresh food, but 22 dollars for a side of fries and mushrooms seemed high. Will be wiser the next time.
We were on vacation and treadwell was recommended. The appetizers were very good scallops and tempura fried zucchini blossoms. Husband had signature dish short ribs and that was excellent. I had halibut was good but not exceptional to come with mussels but they ran out and got all clams instead -
Everything was outstanding.
the service was amazing, the sommelier was very knowledgeable and helped us pick the right wine at the right price.
overall great experience, the zucchini was simply awesome!
No salads, no bread. Hm. I had short ribs. Nice, but nothing exceptional. Guests had fried zucchini blossoms. Just okay. Not much flavor. They had the chicken. Also okay. Husband had Halibut, good but not great. Tried to change res. on Monday from 6pm to 6:30pm, (I gave 24 hr notice, in person), but said they could not. We 4 met for our 6 pm res. 3 tables of 4 stayed open at 6:30pm. Hmm. My opinion, (& we dine out often at fine restaurants) Treadwell is nice, but average. Not memorable cuisine.
Love love love this place!!!!!!! Can’t get enough!
The main course menu was a little limited. Would like to see a slightly extended menu
Amazing experience! This was our 2nd time at Treadwell - the service and food were top notch.
The staff were extremely friendly and remembered that I was celebrating a birthday. They were very kind and accommodating. They provided a free dessert, which was unique and delicious, a custard and blueberry tart with aged cheddar cheese.
Food was great. Place amazing. Server was good. Manager would not accommodate our request to combine two parties totalling 8 people into one group even though there was no one else in our area. We were done eating and no one else came so we couldn't understand the reasoning. We were not given an explanation.
This restaurant was lovely, with a lot of the food/ingredients being local. I had the gnocchi and it was good, if not somewhat underseasoned. The short rib was beautifully cooked, but the peas on the dish were undercooked for my taste. My boyfriend had the steak frites, which was delicious. The fries were perfectly seasoned, and the steak a beautifully done medium rare. We also enjoyed the dessert, a smoked cherry cheesecake, which was very expensive ($12 for two squares of cheesecake, a spoonful of house-made ice cream and a few smoked cherries) but it was so good I would honestly consider getting it again. The service was impeccable.
Treadwell was a scrumptious experience! Lovely fresh ingredients made with loving hands and served with a friendly smile, a treat for all!
The Eggs Benedict with crispy pork belly has forever ruined us for any other Eggs Benedict, and the crispy pork belly has ruined other pork products for us. The coffee was fresh and always refilled at the drop of hat as was the sparkling water.
We will return every chance we get.
Thank you Treadwell!!!
One of the most amazing dining experiences I've ever had! The server greeter us with complementary sparkling wine for our anniversary and it only got better from there! Incredible food and service and a wonderful outdoor location created a memorable night for the two of us...thank you so much from us to all of you at Treadwell!
My husband and I went to Treadwell on Saturday night and both loved it. We we lucky enough to be seated on the patio which had a much better vibe (in my opinion) than inside (which was very noisy). You must make a reservation, we saw many people who were turned away at the door. I ordered the trout which was phenomenal and my husband had the beef short ribs which he loved as well.
Fantastic food, atmosphere and staff.. Couldnt fault one thing at all. Thanks for the brilliant experience
A great all around experience, not one thing stood out as everything was carefully thoughtout.. experts in delivering a great dining experience.
There are many dining choices in Niagara on the Lake, but Treadwell's is by far the best. The food is spectacular. Because the restaurant is not affiliated with a winery, the somellier's choices are well thought out and extraordinary. The patio is lovely, and the epanded interior space is sophisticated. It's worth the extra trouble to book in advance. You won't be disappointed.
great food, service, sommelier offered us a sub wine that was outstanding!
see you again soon!
After having two previous dinners at Treadwell within the last few years, and enjoying our meals immensely, we found lunch with our friends from Alberta and after much fanfare, a disappointment. The zucchini blossoms were very good (according to our friends) and the muscles were good, but nothing memorable. Our mains were simply o.k. The gnocchi was in need of freshness and had too much oil in the bottom of the bowl and needed pepper and the flank steak was bland, lacking seasoning as well. The server was fine if a bit over the top and the sommelier was very good and helpful.
Overall we are sorry to say we would not recommend.
Treadwell did not disappoint. The service was impeccable. While there were a few substitutions for items on the menu the selection and options were amazing. Wine list has a great selection of local wines. The new addition to the restaurant is bright, has good atmosphere and allows more people to dine at this fine restaurant.
À delicious duck appetizer and a Succulent lobster sandwich
As usual, the food was super delicious, staff extremely well trained and professional and ambiance was amazing.
Everything was great, just like always!
Imaginative menu, perfect portion sizes, superb taste combinations, fresh/local ingredients, supportive of local wineries. Pricey but well worth it. $100 per person with cocktail, 2 course meal and bottle of wine shared between 3 people.
We bought tickets as a gift for friends to attend Shaw Theatre and sent them to Treadwell for dinner as well. They raved about their experience. Thank you for taking such good care of them, I'm sure they will be returning many times.
Treadwell food and service is always reliably high quality, although standards are not quite as high as years past and prices are no lower. We prefer the patio rather than the noise of the open style kitchen inside.
Love sitting at the Chef’s table/counter seating to watch the magic of the kitchen. The food is always consistently delicious and service is excellent.
The food is outstanding. We always sit at the bar overlooking the cooking area. The presentation can only be appreciated when one does that. On this last visit, we watched as a whole main order was redone because a poached egg wasn’t perfect.
Never disappointed with Treadwell Restaurant!
Excellent all around- a true representation of the area’s food and wine flavors.
Service and food is the best anywhere.
Just amazing food, so well prepared. We had halibut that was absolutely perfect. Good local wines by the glass. A bit noisy by the open kitchen, but a lot of fun. There is an outside patio. Highly recommended
I was so impressed with Treadwell! The wait staff was friendly and informative, we even discovered a lovely new winery upon staff recommendation Five Rows Winery (which we will certainly be visiting!). I found the experience so enjoyable. We had a later reservation and spent quite a while there and we did not feel rushed, the food was delicious and in my mind it was worth every penny and more! We will certainly be visiting again when I am next in Ontario!
