I have never seen/eaten a more beautiful bowl of food. The wait staff are friendly and very well trained. This was my first experience and I am so looking forward to returning. This was a 5 star afternoon.
We really enjoyed our mother/daughter luncheon at Truis. It was a nice treat and it’s always fun to see how food can be elevated and presented in such an interesting way.
We had a great lunch on a beautiful day sitting on the Trius Patio
Very good food; excellent service. Our only criticism is that the quantity of food was quite sparse. Because the food was delicious, we would have wished for more of it. The value therefore was lacking.
My wife and I eat at Trius a couple of times each year and this restaurant always more than exceeds our expectations. The food and the service are excellent and their wines are some of the best in the area. My wife had their lobster appetizer, which she said was very good and I had their mushroom appetizer which was excellent. We both had lamb; tender, tasty and cooked to perfection. With our starters we each had a glass of the wild fermented chardonnay. This white wine is truly excellent and I am unaware of any other winery in the region making a wild fermented wine. With our mains we both had a glass of their Red Shale Cabernet Franc, one of the best red wines from the region. Service was excellent and the restaurant's interior is beautiful. Also, they have a very nice patio, but we visited on a rainy evening. Gluten free is not a problem
Lovely evening on the patio. Good service very creative tasting menu.
Lovely setting and ambiance. Courteous and attentive service. We were a little surprised to receive an email from open table half way through our meal to say that we had been marked as no shows. having to sort this out with the (very polite) server put a damper on the evening. The food was good but not stellar.
This was our second visit to the Trius Restaurant. The first was several years ago for a late lunch. That time, we sat outside. Excellent food. Good value. This time for an early dinner before a show at the Shaw Festival. It was an interesting varied menu with wine pairing. We enjoyed the appetizers (mushroom toast and corn bisque) more than the entrees (duck breast and steak), which is often the case. The service was excellent. A beautiful room. But the biggest difference between our two visits was the increased menu prices, even more than we are accustomed to paying for some of the best big city dining we enjoy.
An elegant dining room with intimate ambiance & welcoming & attentive staff/service. Food is creative & appealing both in taste & sight. A memorable experience & evening.
One of our favourites, Trius never disappoints. Definitely a gem for foodies and wine lovers. They do both extremely well.
Very tiny portions. Had the lobster main course, it was a nice presentation with four bits of lobster.
Excellent ambience. Great food and superb service. The complementary glass of Brut for our Anniversary was a nice touch.
Definitely quality and presentation over quantity. Our lunch apps and meal were amazingly prepared and tasted fantastic. Great outdoor seating.
Excellent experience all around. We helped celebrate our friends 1 year anniversary in style. Before dinner we went to the Loft, which is the executive tasting room at Trius, also a wonderful addition to the evening. A great night at the winery !!
A truly amazing experience. The food was delicious. My server was very knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere was lovely. You get the pleasure of enjoying a well prepared meal experience as you look out over the breathtaking vineyard. One of my favourite places in Niagara!
Excellent food and great service too in a beautiful room. What else is there? Right, the wine selection was wonderful too.
Dined with my son and his wife- lovely to dine on the patio. Gorgeous and delicious food presentation, knowledgeable waiter, great wine pairings. A memorable evening with my family...thank you. We truly enjoyed it.
Always enjoyable we love Trius as a special place for an excellent meal
Food was deliciuos and the whole overall experience was great. We also did a wine tasting and tour
that was interesting and Liz knew her stuff. very knowledgeable. Thanks to Liz too.
Always an amazing meal and experience! Love dining at Trius.
Always our first stop in the area for lunch
Love the food, wines, service, view, just everything
Went for lunch with friends and enjoyed a fabulous meal on the patio. Patio was lovely with a nice view of the vineyard and everyone raves about their meals. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Would definitely eat there again.
Wonderful service and staff. Phenomenal food. Very sweet to start us with celebratory champagne for our anniversary which was a wonderful surprise. Have gone to many places in the past that don’t have same level of thoughtfulness and detail.
Almose Perfect juste à bit small portion on a tasting menu and à bit finish on a food (herbe, sauce , foam ) but on all dish just a couple
Tank for all
I always enjoy dining at Trius. The service is excellent, as is the food. I especially like that the meals are adapted on request to meet dietary needs. I have never been disappointed!
This is one of our favorite restaurants to dine at before attending a play at the Shaw Festival. It was a beautiful evening and we were able to dine outside. The food was not as good as we've had in the past. Two of us had the lamb entree. It was quite tough. The other two had the halibut and were quite pleased with it. Desert was excellent.
We had a wonderful time at trius celebrating my mother’s birthday. The service was excellent, the atmosphere beautiful, and most of the food was outstanding. We shared the hero’s plate (delicious!) as well as the burrata. My husband had the lobster appetizer. We all greatly enjoyed the starters as well as all of the wines. My mom and I both had the halibut as our entrees, and although all of the flavors on the plate worked beautifully, we both thought that the fish was over cooked. My husband said the same about his chicken. All in all though, we all had a great time at trius, and my mom was made to feel very special!
It is an expensive restaurant but service is excellent and well thought out.
The food, wine and atmosphere were amazing! The service was super busy and seemed stressed out over the events going on while we were dinning and because we were only two people we sometimes had to wait and abnormally long time for service. But the waiter was friendly over all an amazing experience.
We’ve been coming to Trius for the last 10+ years. It is always the highlight of our trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake. Chef Dodd and his team never seems to fail at coming up with new and wonderful taste combinations that are beautifully presented. Why this isn’t ranked number one is beyond me as I’ve dined at the others ranked above Trius. Our server Chris has been there for many years but is as happy and enthusiastic as any new waiter would be. We had exceptional service all night and Chris was very attentive to some dietary issues at our table. We did both the Showcase and “regular” wine pairings and you cannot go wrong with either, although the Showcase pairings were my favourites.
From Italy, it has been an interesting find! Thanks
Food, presentation, ambience and service were outstanding. I highly.recommend Trius.
This was a family occasion and unfortunately our food wasn’t up to par. My halibut was over cooked and dry, I chose not to complain as to not ruin everyone else’s meal. Unfortunately the fish and chips were cooked too fast and burnt the outside while not cooking through completely. Everyone that had it left the out battered part and none of the many waiters noticed. We were all not very impressed when they opened the second bottle of wine and poured it into everyone’s incomplete glass’ from the first bottle. The Caesar salad was good. Everyone enjoyed their desserts. My drip coffee tasted like dirty water. The French press looked a little better. Do not think I will be back as there are many more options in the county.
Amazing flavors off the a la carte menu, one of the best dinners I’ve had in awhile. Make sure to do a wine tasting prior to dinner!
Birthday. Much to expensive. Caesar Salad for $32.00 is ridiculous. Will not be back
The menu is misleading. My friend and I shared the Ontario mushrooms appetizer. The menu did not mention that it was on bread, even though every other component was mentioned. My friend does not eat bread! It was delicious however the menu led us to believe that we could trust it for ingredients and then failed to do so. Similarly I ordered Wine Cherries for desert and it included a cheesecake bar, according to the menu. What I actually received was an ice cream bar coated with chocolate and a few cherries. My friend's dessert was fabulous. Overall we had a lovely time together and great service. I suggest that patrons ask the server to describe exactly what will be brought to the table.
Crab, shrimp soup was excellent. I also had the scallops appetizer which was delicious. Wonderful dessert of white chocolate filled with liquid custard, sponge cake & strawberries-creative & yummy. Husband had charcuterie plate that was superb. Only hitch- all 3 bowls of soup came like warm. Waitress corrected problem immediately, h replaced all with new bowls of steaming soup. Beautiful ambience. Quiet.
Superb, special place for a fabulous lunch. Never disappointed at Trius as this is one of our favourite spots.
The restaurant at Prius offers New York or Montreal quality food in a multi star Michelin presentation at a fraction of the price, and this in an ambiance unmatched by the off-the-scale Napa Valley restaurants with those Michelin stars. Bravo Canada!
Fabulous food, lovely wines, outstanding service in a beautiful setting.
