As always, a fabulous meal at Trius.
Our first time For brunch(which is really more like lunch/dinner food.)
The setting is beautiful--service was good but kitchen was a bit slow...we weren't in a hurry though. One of our favorite restaurants that we visit frequently and we are from the Buffalo area

We went there to celebrate Father's Day. It was a great experience with delicious food. Selection of main course was limited but both presentation and quality were top notch.

We sat outside and it was lovely. We had the halibut and the chicken. Both were good. We also had the hero's platter as a starter. Don't waste your money. It was the most expensive thing on our tab and we didn't eat most of it. Not at all as good as the description. Our chardonnay arrived at the table warm. The server said that was the vintners suggestion. He poured us a glass and then put the wine on ice. Obviously, it just wasn't chilled and the excuse was lame. All in all a nice dinner

We went for Sunday brunch for our anniversary and it was amazing! The food was so fresh and delicious and the staff was so nice. I recommend going early and having a wine tasting first, and then for your meal. That way you can taste a few wines before you eat.

Overall a very nice experience. Food was amazing, service was good, ambience was ok. We sat outside, I expected a different view for a winery but still quaint nonetheless.

The worst - we booked on this site for our only big meal today - only to be treated with contempt at the door, followed by a lot of discussion about having to seat us and then they found us a table - only to tell us that the kitchen was closed and that they were only serving cheese and crackers. Seriously. They literally didn’t care and blamed the app. We will never buy a wine from here or eat here again.

After, barely, surviving a 4+ hour trip from Toronto airport (horrendous truck accident 4 hours earlier on the highway so it took more than double the usual time) we staggered into Trius at our booked dinner hour. They sent us away to check in to our hotel and change giving an hour later reservation. Quick freshen up and change and we Ubered back to the warmest welcome from our wonderful server, Ashlie. She immediately made us welcome, provided our favourite Trius bubbles and gave great recommendations from menu and wine list. Delicious gin-infused smoked lake trout with beets as a starter then my husband had trout as a main while I had a perfectly cooked organic chicken with lovely accompaniments. From a disaster this turned into a relaxing and memorable evening in lovely surroundings and with the best of service - funny, efficient and warm. Thank you!

The positive reviews made us want to book this place for dinner. We were not disappointed. For the quality of the food, it was very reasonably priced. The wines ranged from good to excellent. The Niagara region should be proud to have a spot like this.

We had Sunday brunch at Trius. My husband was raving about his mushroom soup for the rest of the day. I was happy with my duck egg appetizer and lamb main dish, but found spices subtle. Everything was perfectly cooked, but there was no wow moment for me. I enjoyed the trifle desert, and the cheese plate was plentiful.

I booked a table for 7 for my friend’s 50th birthday. The service was lovely. The menu selection was nice. Nearly everyone’s main course was not hot, just kind of warm. I’m the only one who returned my lamb. I asked if It could served hot as well as cooked just a little more since I ordered it MR and it came out R. When i received my meal, my lamb was well done and the cut was completely different then my last pieces which were not appealing.
Manager came over asked if they could cook it again. I was pretty over it by then, since most of my friends finished their dinners and here I am without food. Anyway, they gave me a free dessert. Wooo!

The service was great. The bread was fantastic although we had to request it as others seemed to be just given it. My wife enjoyed the champagne, as the designated driver, I should have been offered a non alcoholic substitution and I wasn’t. It was a shame they only had a brunch menu with a set price. We expect a brunch on a Sunday, but not on a Saturday early afternoon. I would come back again. My knock is that they did not serve Coca Cola products. The freshly brewed tea was string for the first glass and weak on the second.

Food took too long everyone was starving and explanation for the tasting menu not as detailed as our prior visit. We were half an hr early and could not be seated outside. We were told to come back. The resto was empty this seems unreasonable.

Food was excellent as usual, interesting menu choices and fantastic service. FYI the "Hearts of Romaine" salad is actually a very large bowl of salad that can serve 4 people as a starter. The 32 dollar price tag is not worth it. Was expecting something different and with a better presentation. Will definitely go back.

Trius has excellent potential, especially their commitment to sourcing locally grown food items. The food is well prepared, tasty and presented nicely, though our waiting time was on the long side for a set menu (we visited for Sunday brunch). The problem they need to fix is that their wait staff doesn't appear to be trained, which is immediately visible for a restaurant at this price point. For example, our waiter helpfully suggested that there was also a children's menu, which wasn't described on the printed menu. But when half the children's menu wasn't delivered (they had run out of salad), he wasn't able to suggest something else in its place (maybe some random vegetables?). Overall, the restaurant is decent and the ambiance/setting is nice. They need to work on the service part if they want to deliver a truly excellent experience.

We celebrated a birthday on our visit and we were pleasantly surprised with a complementary glass of champagne. Our meal was very, very good and as you expect from a winery restaurant, our wine was excellent. The service was professional and went above and beyond to make our evening most enjoyable.
