This was a very special meal. Our appetizers were fresh, unusual and delicious As main dishes, I had the lamb , my husbandthe salmon, both perfectly prepared. We asked our server to find out how the tomato purée was made which she kindly did. Our one regret was that we couldn’t go back for lunch the following day
Hostess welcome was lovely, as was the seating. Server was not very knowledgeable for a winery and only recommended that the Sauvignon Blanc could go with anything. I ordered the rosé sparkling wine, which was a nice start and paired well with the bread and other amuse-bouche that were offered. Acorn squash starter was delicious and worth the visit (but did not pair with the sparkling). The main course salmon was nicely cooked and paired really well with the Showcase Pinot Noir, which was also worth the visit. But the main dish as a whole was lacking in focus and had too many disparate ingredients to be enjoyable. I was disappointed and did not finish it. Server was uninterested in feedback, which ended visit on a low note.
Went here for anniversary dinner and had a great experience. Service was great, and so was the food. We enjoyed all the wines that we tried. Will definitely be back.
Our server was Anthony - he was excellent - the food the atmosphere, the service all were top notch. We loved our time there. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the Niagara area. The way the wines were paired with the food just enhanced the experience greatly. So much so that we came back the next day to purchase the wine we had enjoyed with our meal. Thanks so much for a memorable evening for us.
An excellent menu of 3 courses including their own sample of appetizers. Every dish was presented with thought and creativity that brought a mix of flavours you savour with each bite. The lamb entre is the best we have ever tasted. Well worth the price and enjoyment.
I found there was very little variety on menu. Great presentation what I did order. Overall it’s a nice experience would I go back, probably not to dine. However, the wine pairing was very good. Wines very good.
Excellent meal and service was phenomenal! Kitchen did great accommodating for my nut allergy. Would return and recommend
Amazing food and service!
Three friends and I dined here for lunch and it was amazing. They have a prix fixe menu so it's $60 for two courses and $70 for three!
I order the braised lamb and it was delicious, another member of my party ordered the duck and that was amazing as well. The service was great, the servers are very accommodating and lovey. It was overall a great experience and I would dine again!
Expensive but worth it! Had the 3 course meal, the portion sizes were good and the presentation was excellent. Great service & atmosphere on the patio. Definitely recommend if you want a fancy lunch or dinner and are willing to pay for quality meal.
We had dinner there for our wedding Anniversary. The service, ambiance, food and visual experience was above our expectations. We opted for the "showroom" wine pairing for our meal and we weren't disappointed. The wine was so good we had to come back the next day to buy some at their wine boutique. Very nice place ! We will be back
2 choices for $60 is pretty high.
If it was cut down to $50 Trius would get a lot more reservations
Fun atmosphere and delicious food
Michelle was very find personne thank for the greatest services
Very good !!
Delicious food, perfectly presented, gourmet ! All dishes we tried were perfect
We were celebrating our 25 anniversary. The whole experience was amazing, food was very tasty and the presentation elegant. The server was very knowledgeable . Price on the expensive side but worth the experience. Definitely will be back 😀
went here for our 35th wedding anniversary, I gave lots of notice, and asked for a quiet table for 2. we were placed in the middle of the room at a table for 4. I looked around and there were lots of intimate table for 2, so they just didn't even bother to try and accommodate us, very disappointed.
A beautiful space, welcoming and friendly staff. The food and wine was delicious and sharing is encouraged. I liked the 2 or 3 course idea because it allowed my husband and me to try a variety of dishes by sharing.
This was a wonderful experience and I will return for my next special event.
Excellent service & food & wine pairings were perfect!!
The wine pairing is a must. I would definitely go back.
Food, ambiance and service were all much better than expected.
Truly incredible food and service and wine pairings.
Excellent dinner celebrating our friend's 25th anniversary!
Staff were wonderful and food was delicious!
Everything was perfect! What a fantastic evening.
We dined at Trius winery for dinner and sat outside on the patio. The views were nice and the food was great. I had the salmon and it was delicious. My husband had the lamb and raved about it. For dessert we had the dark chocolate torte, very good. The wine is one of our favourites in the region. Our waiter was a bit aloof but the service was fine.
Amazing day and lunch. And the weather made the visit even better.
Just beautiful food - everything is always delicious.
We had come to this restaurant years ago and had memories of a refined dinner with an interesting pairing of wine in a beautiful setting and a warm ambiance. This time, while the location in wine country is still appealing, there was none of the past charm.
The decor in the retaurant is sparse and gauche, the food ($70 for three courses) was fair at best, with an odd mix of flavours and a so-so presentation. Service was prompt and friendly but lacked a touch of elegance. We weren't seized with the pairing of wines on the menu and so opted for a bottle of Trius Red at $60. It was disappointing. The waitress kindly offered to have us try others or open another bottle, but by this time we already knew this was going to be an average meal so there was not much point. A pity when one spends a few days in beautiful Niagara-on-the Lake and basically wastes a dinner that could have been such a better experience (as offered by at least one other winery). Perhaps it is the shortage of staff, but then patrons should be advised they will get just half a loaf.
The food was great as usual, but the price was a big shock. $60 for 2 courses is way overpriced for the food. $80 per person for 3 courses. Plus wine cost.
I have eaten here many many times pre-Covid, but today it was a set price menu and the prices were crazy. You couldn't opt for something less than $60 per person.
There's lots of great food in Niagara area, so Trius may price themselves out of the market. Too bad.
the server was Michelle I believe and she was excellent and very accommodating.
We very much enjoyed our evening. The restaurant has organized itself so Covid protocols maintain the safety of patrons. The ambiance was relaxed and comfortable. The food was delicious as were the wine pairings.
Although the food was well cooked the flavours didn’t complement each other well. There was no balance. The food was either bland or too sweet.
Beautiful setting, superb service and absolutely fantastic food! A foodies delight on our Anniversary, thank you so much.
Delightful place for an anniversary dinner, nice and picturesque
Terrific service, highly recommended. Food is amazing too 👍👍👍👍👍
The server was approachable, well-informed and professional. He selected wines that matched our food choices perfectly. The Rose was not to my husbands taste, but he did not mention to the server that he is not fond of Rose.
We had advised Trius in advance that we were celebrating a special birthday. The evening started on a high note with complimentary champagne to a knowledge the occasion. We had a wonderful time and the food was absolutely delicious. There was a large group in the next room that we’re invasive lay loud, but fortunately they didn’t stay long. It was an easy, fun evening and we both thank our server, Chris, and Trius. I’m sure we will dine at Trius again on our next visit to Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Beautiful setting and ambiance. Wine pairing option was great but a bit pricey if you are choosing the 3 course menu. Overall very sophisticated and upscale experience.
Food was delicious
Presentation was excellent.
