Tutti Matti serves traditional, authentic Tuscan cuisine, prepared using only fresh seasonal ingredients.
Everything is made in-house, including our fresh bread and pastas. Some dishes are permanent productions of our kitchen — gnudi, pinci, pappardelle, tagliatelle. Others are more seasonal, like stuffed zucchini flowers in the summers and polpetta and hearty soups in the winter. From day one, we have served venison, wild boar, fennel pork sausage and we love to produce delectable trays of antipasto, which change seasonally and daily (sometimes even mid‐service!)

It was smoky (wood burning oven not ventilated properly), cold (doors open in winter to accommodate for oven) and extremely loud. Our food was great - when it finally arrived. The service was not good. Perhaps as there were some large groups there, but that’a not an excuse. We waited a very long time for our food, and then again between courses - and were not asked about wine, coffee, or given proper utensils. This used to be a wonderful intimate spot for a business lunch. They have work to do to get back to their previous level of service.
The service was amazing when we dined and the atmosphere was great. While the food was incredibly fresh and homemade, my only critic was that the food was a little bland. I ordered the Bolognese and the dish really needed salt. It didn’t seem like the pasta water had been salted at all. We also ordered the mushroom crostini. I was a little taken back when it only came with one piece. For the price, I was expecting to get at least two pieces. I was disappointed as it was pricier menu and my expectations weren’t necessarily met.
I don’t like giving negative reviews and don’t want this to be looked at as negative. Our server was amazing and very attentive. I would have enjoyed the experience more so if the food had been seasonsed a bit more.
Wonderful food and great service - Free BYOB made it very economical
First time there and we had an awesome time. Service was great, very attentive. Menu was varied and all of our selections were done perfectly. One of our new favourites!
My partner and I enjoyed our anniversary at Tutti Matti and everyone there treated us wonderfully. The food was terrific and the service really was exceptional.
We visited Tutti Matti on a week night. The ambiance is nice and cozy, good for a quiet conversation. Great wine pairing.
The food is average, the pizza bread was salty and the pasta lacked flavour. The service was slow and not upto the mark.
Overall good for a glass of wine and conversation but would not recommend the food.
Food was very good, traditional well prepared Tuscan dishes. Unfortually the service seemed inattentive, the bartender wasn't sure how to make the house cocktails. The menu seemed a bit overpriced. Really wanted to love this place but it sorta fell short for the price tag
We had visited Tutti Matti in the summer 2017 and had an awesome experience. The owner came to our table, made recommendations for our family, talked about her passion for food, her mom helping with making the homemade pasta, etc. Truly we had a memorable evening. My son, remembering that evening, chose Tutti Matti for his 18th birthday this past weekend. Interior facelift was nice to see. Our service was awful. She appeared rushed, but she didn't even have another table that we could see. She poured water, then disappeared for 8-10 minutes. She returned and realized she had given us lunch menus. She still hadn't taken a drink order from us. When she did return we asked for some recommendations. She told us the specials, one of which included steak, that she said was good. We ordered it - she returned to say it was no longer available. We asked for some advice choosing appetizers; she was unable to provide descriptions of what might be good. We asked her if we could order drinks. She returned to tell my husband they didn't have Southern Comfort. When our food arrived it was disappointing. The boar pasta was as always awesome but the eggplant "meatballs" were flavourless and texture was mush; the sausage toast was a very unappealing colour and lacked much flavour; broccoli with parmesan was okay; the pizza served wasn't what we ordered and when we identified this to the waitress she apologized but had no resolution. And, then she was gone again... Never did get asked if I wanted a refill on my drink, which I totally would have taken at that point. Music was waaaayyy too bass driven and made it impossible to hear your companions, at least where we were sitting. My son had to go ask for the bill - at which point the manager? owner? came over to see what he could make right. Comped the pizza. Overall, sorry to say, not what we remembered or expected at that price point. Giant birthday fail. Oh well.
It’s was great!
Waiting time from the appetizer to the main was a bit too long. Thought our order were forgotten.
Pizza was very delicious though.
Friendly and relaxing atmosphere, good for a Tuesday night dinner. Our waiter had great recommendations for both dinner and wine. Will definitely be coming back!
Poor service, got food before wine.
Took a long time to get the bill
Gnocchi was very average tasting.
WORST SERVICE!!!!! Not worth the money or your time!!
We were a party of 4, we arrived right on time for our reservation but they didn’t sit us for 15 minutes until we finally just decided to sit wherever there was a table open. The waitress didn’t take our drink order for another 30 minutes and once an hour had passed we hadn’t given our food order nor received drinks. The drinks came about 1.5 hours into this experience where the waitress told us the beer couldn’t located so we had to order different beer. The food came 25 minutes after that. My friend said the gnocchi was gross.
It had been a while since my husband and I had been to Tutti Matti and we chose to revisit it on our anniversary. I had the beef shank in red wine and rosemary and my husband had the roast suckling pig. We had the roast squash and the Brussels sprouts for contorni. Everything was delicious. We will definitely be back.
The place was empty when we arrived and our server did not know about the theatre menu. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu options and wine. The food was delicious although the service slowed down considerably as the restaurant filled. We were there pre-theatre and yet our main course salads were not served for over an hour after we’d arrived. I would go back though because the menu was interesting and unusual!
Great service and great food
Original interpretations of Tuscan cuisine by a passionate and knowledgeable chef/owner.
Food was great, nice ambience. Wait was tadbit longer on a sat night. Good wine selection. Nice in-house dessert. Was expecting porchetta to be crispy.
Amazing and helpful staff. They were able to make recommendations and answer our questions. They were also great at making wine pairings. I had the Saturday special which was octopus and my friend had the duck pasta, both were outstanding. I would definitely go back again.
We stood waiting to be seated for over 10 minutes at which point we decided to leave. We were the only people waiting to be seated. I would have to think this was not only awkward / annoying for us, but for the many diners who were sitting a few feet away.
I ate here a few years ago and really enjoyed it. I see no reason to bother coming back to a place that can’t get step one of hospitality right.
Service was slow and understaffed. Food was cold
An absolute gem of a restaurant. Everything was delightful, food was delicious, service was perfect, friendly and fun and the wine was tasty! Tutti Matti has things on the menu that I have never seen on a menu before...so rare! We can't wait to go back!
Excellent Tuscan food in a wonderful open kitchen atmosphere, where the menu is not duplicated anywhere in Toronto. Chef Alida and team seem to know exactly what to make and how to serve it. From the Celsius apps to the perfect mains, to can’t go wrong with Tutti Matti.
The staff was marvellous, the food was exquisite, and the ambiance was super romantic! Highly recommend, especially the fried squash risotto.
We felt very rushed. It was pretty empty in the restaurant yet we felt like they were trying to push us out the door and the pizza did not come hot.
This is a fantastic restaurant with unique offerings with an excellent staff that went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to congratulate us on our anniversary. Shortly after sitting down, our waiter brought us two glasses of champagne to congratulate us. We started off with their wood fired Pizza as an appetizer, and it was excellent. We also tried their eggplant meatballs, which were also incredible with their fresh tomato sauce and Specialty cheese. For the main course, we had the fish, and the gnocchi, again excellent. We had to leave quickly for the theatre, and our waiter very kindly brought us a complimentary piece of chocolate cake to go. Would absolutely go back to this awesome place!
By far one of the best Italian dinning experience I've had in the past 5 years. Incredible food quality, professional service and there new wood fired pizza oven / creative pizza offering is a true product. Nice to see the passion, pride and hard work they put in. I will certainly go back.
Excellent service, really good food. Fair prices. Definitely one of the top Italian restaurants in toronto
We had a great evening. The food was great and the service was amazing, attentive without being over the top. The only thing that was a little odd was that even though you ordered the sides separately (potato and vegetable) one of our plates came with vegetable and the other came with potato. An excellent wine list with many that I have not seen before. A great atmosphere and there appeared to be a number of regulars which is great to see.
Best northern Italian cuisine I have experienced in North America. We met the chef who worked under the famous Dario Checchini in Panzano Italy for fifteen years. Food and wine fit for foodies at very reasonable prices. This was the best northern Italian dinner that I have experienced since I was in that region in Italy less than a year ago. The chef is truly an artist. We will be back again...BTW...I am an Italian foodie! Take my word for it.
Slow service, extremely noisy. Food is expensive for what you get. Overal a disappointing experience. We enjoyed it in the past but quite a different atmosphere now.
We went on the first weekend after they opened post-reno - and have since returned. The changes are terrific: 1. doors at the front that open up to the street 2. Pizza! a wood-burning pizza oven was added 3. A nice new bar, so you can hang and eat at the bar. 4. A New ceiling. The net result: the food is still excellent, but the room is brighter and livelier. The menu continues with a Tuscan focus, but the pizza is Neopolitan in style (and delicious). This continues to be one of the best Italian restaurants in the Toronto.
The best Italian food and Italian style dinning in Toronto.
Few options for vegetarians .
My food was good (porchetta); portions are a good size, but not cheap, because you have to buy the sides to the meat course separately. I had a glass of wine for $14. It was overpriced (Piedmont Nebbiolo 2016); the pour was minimal, maybe 4 ounces. I would like to thank the restaurant for very good and friendly service.
We were going through serious withdrawal as Tutti Matti was closed for restoration. Brought friends along who had never had the pleasure of dining there before. Everyone was blown away. I have a variety of serious food allergies and the entire team made sure that I had a host of delicious and exciting dishes to share with our table of non allergic folk. I had everything but the bread and pizza. Without exception everything that arrived to our table was of the highest quality with regard to both produce and preparation. Unpretentious and relaxed atmosphere with attention to detail.
Fantastic quality, small authentic Tuscan menu. They now have a wood fired oven. They finally opened after some flooding and renovations. Will be going back!
I made a reservation by using OpenTable, and when I got to the restaurant for my reservation, it was closed. I was not notified that there had been a flood, and emergency renovations were taking place. Someone From the restaurant should have notified either me or open table to let its customers know that their reservations would be canceled. I came into the city all the way from Windsor to have dinner there and to see a play. I was very disappointed.
The food served here was absolutely amazing and activated all of our taste buds. The recommended wine was perfect and associated very well with all the dishes. The best food experience we had in Toronto!!
