    Location is perfect- across the street from the beach, outdoor heated seating or cozy indoor with some tables having views. Our server was very attentive. Was here for a business dinner and unfortunately the food was bad and expensive. We had the cheese starter special which consisted of 1 slice of cheese for $25. I am not exaggerating… literally one slice of cheese…. I get it was hand made by Nepal children but seriously?! We almost thought they were pranking us. The two gentlemen then ordered Paella, which this restaurant is known for, and it was rice with tomato Sauce and olives. No mussels or clams to be seen. I split the 14oz steak special with one other person, and even though we took the recommendation to order it medium rare, it was extremely over cooked and nothing special. Again, service was great, location amazing, but food is simply not good. I would definitely not come here to have a great meal, but if I want to have a glass of wine with a nice view it’ll do!

    Dean was our server and he was absolutely amazing. He spoke to our table with respect and was super informative and helped recommend excellent drinks and dishes. I will be asking for Dean to serve us again when we come in!

    Will not be returning. Nice enough place, obviously very popular as it was super busy. Our server was nice enough and provided pretty good service, but he was so busy trying to manage multiple tables, that by the time he delivered our meals to our table they were cold. Clearly our meals had been sitting waiting for at least 10 minutes or more before he brought them out to us. We did not complain or send it back for fear of waiting another hour, we just vowed never to return. We also thought it was overpriced, but perhaps that’s the norm everywhere now. Not impressed.

    Had a enjoyable dinner with family but have a hard time with the 90 min time limit, We spent $375 and got pushed out starting after 70 min , 90 min is not long enough to dine when it takes 25 min to get a bottle of wine , Sadly we won't be back.

    The food was fantastic, probably the best burger I’ve had. The service wasn’t the best. Our waitress was nice but we didn’t have a lot of interaction with her other than ordering our food, getting our food and paying for the bill. But my biggest issue would be with the host with the iPad. He was very unprofessional. we were seated at the high table near the bar and everytime the host had an interaction with any customer, he would turn around roll his eyes and give this sassy attitude while he made fun of the customers to his co-workers. One particular family came in, who was having some language barrier issues. They were very polite and sweet. They were told to wait outside while the host would find them a place to be seated. The family asked if they could see a menu while they waited. The host very loudly repeated in very slow English to go wait outside and I will seat you. The family humbly apologized and went to wait outside. the host turned around and said “oh my god, these guys are going to be the death of me” He did this a few more times with this group. They did nothing obnoxious and weren’t rude. They just couldn’t speak English super well. Up until then, our experience was great here. But after witnessing that, it left a bad taste in my mouth. The not so quite whispering at the bar making fun of the family was uncalled for. The food, again, was amazing. Service was not right.

    I hadn’t been to Uli’s in quite a while so when my friend suggested it, I agreed to meet her there for lunch. The atmosphere is always enjoyable and I’ve never had a bad meal there. A hot bowl of chowder seemed to be the right choice on a dreary day at the White Rock beach. Our server came to the table promptly and took our order for tea, a warm up to start. After my friend and I had looked over the menu we both agreed on the chowder. The tea came for us and as we poured it into our cups, from very small teapots, most of the water spilled onto the table. Frustrating to say the least. Anyway, we finally were able to enjoy our tea and spent our time getting caught up. The chowder arrived with two slices of focaccia bread. Our server offered to get us more bread if needed but we both declined. The chowder was not what I was expecting and I have to admit I was disappointed. There seemed to be more celery and carrots than seafood or even potatoes. The consistency wasn’t as thick as I was expecting, either. The soup was ok in taste, hot and the focaccia was warm. My friend enjoyed hers and liked that it wasn’t thick. So I guess it’s all a matter of preference. Would have liked more fish, seafood and potatoes. Service was great! I’ll be back in the summer and try a different meal.

    We regularly go to Ulis or take friends here when they come from Van. We love to support local and love the food, and usually thrle service. However, our past two experiences have been lacking. We reserved, as always, and with 5 of us having a good time, ordering drinks/appies/meals and were planning on dessert - were abruptly told when ordering another round that the next reso would be there any minute. As a table of previous servers and restaurant managers we can't understand this lack of notification when making the reso or even when being sat. 1.5 hours is not long enough for 3 courses and drinks for 5 ppl. Especially when our server took 20 mins to even take our food orders. The beer was flat, and we were given a (oh well what other beer do you want) attitude about it. The shoestring fries are still gone and it seems the serving sizes are being cut back on. As our server let us know lettuce is too expensive now - with a strange "first born child" analogy. We would be happy to spend more/have the price raised than get less - or be sent packing partway into what we planned to be the highlight of our night. The staff seemed unhappy the past two visits - they put on a good act at the tables but it was obvious something is amiss.

    Terrible service! When we recived our burgers we were all given the wrong one, everyone’s burger was mixed up with one another which made it very frustrating. Waiter was not informative or helpful with anything. Waiter did not tell us if there was an add on price with certain things he was suggesting us to get. The chicken patty was very dry.

    We celebrated our 29th anniversary at Uli's where we'd never been but had heard many good things. It's very casual, which works for us, and I hadn't known what to expect. We enjoyed ourselves and are glad we went, but we won't be rushing back. The first greeter wasn't friendly or happy at all, but our table server was wonderful. Other than lots of burger options, the menu was a bit limited. The drinks were fantastic - The Italian Sour was a huge hit with us. Yum. The food was very good and the portions large; I had the schnitzel Neptune and it was delicious and very large. All in all, it was a great experience. I had to shake off my expectations and readjust to be objective.
