Always a great experience!
Unfortunately, a trendy/popular high end restaurant heading downhill. The service provided by Michele and the support team around her was outstanding as always. The food was substandard especially when viewed from past visits and the ever increasing prices. We have found better sushi and a better experience elsewhere and will say farewell to Umi.
Food is ALWAYS great. Never disappoints!
Food was amazing but seating is packed together and noise extremely loud. Not quite the romantic atmosphere for couples.
Amazing as always
Amazing as always
Chef Ito rocks
Best sushi in Atlanta hands down no question.
Keep up the great work !
The wait time for our table even though we made reservations was ridiculous. We had to wait over 30 mins for our table. There were people there that had to wait even longer than us because they were a party of 4. The sushi was authentic and the service was fast.
Umi is my favorite restaurant in Atlanta. I love the amazing food. The service is next level, and the scene is really fun. Make sure to make reservations well in advance. The later in the evening the better
One of the premiere sushi spots in the ATL. This is an equal marriage of social scene and sushi scene, and while I appreciate both but I'm in it for the sushi first and foremost. Service is always excellent.
Here's my breakdown of our most recent meal. Superb: yellowtail with jalapeño appetizers, tuna carpaccio, o'toro nigiri, grilled Chilean sea bass, grilled shishitou pepper, scallop sashimi and a specialty "not on the menu" cut roll with crab and cucumber. Good: typhoon roll, edamame. Take it or leave it: the avocado salad. Not working for me at all: spicy tuna on crispy rice (served cold? IDGI)
Overall - I love this restaurant and will be back soon.
Umi continues to be the best sushi restaurant in Atlanta
The place is unmatched. ALWAYS over and beyond expectations
For those who look for high end, sophisticated, well thought elegant Japanese food, then Umi is the place to visit. The staff are sophisticated and friendly. Our server Dickson is exceptional. Coming here for us is not just to dine, but also to enjoy a wonderful experience
I had my friends in from OTP ..... UMI was one great example of The Buckhead experience and world class dining ..... as expected..... UMI never fails !
We went to Umi to celebrate a birthday... the drink suggestions were completely off base and there was absolutely nothing done to make the night special. I called ahead of time to request a birthday celebration and the server absolutely ignored the purpose of the evening. They even forgot to bring our the dessert that was to accompany the omakase. For the price, this experience left so much to be desired. For future reference go to O-Ku instead!
Food was excellent but could get the same at another restaurant for cheaper price.
Fantastic time, going back in 2 weeks and taking another couple.
AMAZING AS ALWAYS!!!!!
This was my 5 th visit and I was not disappointed. My drinks were great additionally the crowd was great.
Awesome time. Love this place
Every time I have been to Umi I have had nothing but a pleasant experience. The quality if the food itself is exceptional and has left me satisfied everytime. I have yet to have a bad service experience, everyone is attentive and knowledgable. I will be returning.
Always a pleasant dining experience here. Lots of choices as far as sushi and sashimi. The quality is above average: we tried avocado salad, toro the only thing is the sauce/seasoning for some of them is on the heavy side which overpowered the food itself. But we still enjoyed the food and atmosphere here.
We sat at the bar, and I don’t think we’ve had a better date night in Atlanta yet! The sushi is AMAZING!! Don’t waste your stomach space on rolls (although they are delicious), go straight for the nigiri. If you sit at the bar, you can watch the chefs create all the beautiful dishes. Absolutely remarkable and so so fresh.
The sushi is amazing and the service is wonderful!
You'll find the best (and most expensive) experience at the Sushi Counter doing the "Ito-kase" course. You'll be served some of the finest sushi of the day and served until you say stop. Itou-san takes pride in his craft and it shows. Umi is one of the best places in Atlanta for sushi. It's the closest you'll get to Japan-grade service and flavor.
Amazing sushi, cool location. Fun experience. This is an expensive night out!
Everything was great once you walk in! For first time visitors make sure you get exact instructions on how to navigate your way there. It's in a weird location and at night can be difficult to locate (the current side walk construction doesn't help).
However, once you get in Everything is exceptional from hostess greeting to dessert!
Everything was perfect!
We ordered sushi rolls. The food was exceptional, as was the service. We will definitely be back. Reservations are a must
Reservation time was not honored even though they took credit card, wasn’t seated till an hour after our reservation
Cross contamination resulting in a allergic reaction after notifying them on multiple occasions that there was a nut allergy.
We will not be going back.
Everything was wonderful! Our server, Iris, really went above and beyond in taking care of us.
This place is absolutely fantastic. Dined here before for business and had to take my husband for valentines. We got there an hour earlier than our reservation so they escorted us to their private bar few doors down. From the dry cold sake, toro, Kobe beef, yellow tail, lobster, and other recommendations to last bite of our meal, it was awesome. Our waitress, Autumn was superb. We told her what we liked and she took care of everything. Fantastic experience and can’t wait to go back. The bar was perfect start to our special night, waitress recommended an awesome bottle of sake (southern beauty) and paired it with light appetizer (yellow tail with jalapeños) that started our fantastic journey to foodie’s dream. Really appreciated management accommodating us and allowing us to try their private bar. I think this is the best sushi restaurant in Atlanta. Definitely my favorite
It was a little frustrating that our reservation was at 9pm and we were not seated until close to 10pm, but I suppose certain circumstances in the restaurant world prevent every seating from being optimally timed.
Also, not sure how I feel about Freddy Freeman sitting with those Philies players. I mean, come on, they're divisional rivals.
Umi is my favorite restaurant while traveling. I am a global person and love good food so it is with great joy that I know when I go to Atlanta, Umi is my #1 destination for amazing food, wonderful service and friendly and most helpful staff.
My absolute favorite restaraunt in ATL!! Food is fabulous, staff is professional and very polite.
