Uncle Julio's - Loudoun
Uncle Julio’s menu also includes Tex-Mex classics such as tacos, enchiladas & tamales all with a selection of sauces made daily. Insider tip: order the tableside guacamole. It’s prepared for you at your table; if you like it spicy kick it up a notch with fresh chopped jalapenos.
Uncle Julio’s has a vast drink selection. Try our fresh margarita of the day, made to order with fresh fruit. If you prefer a frozen drink then the Swirl is definitely the perfect choice. The Swirl is frozen sangria & frozen margarita layered together dating back to 1987.
For reservations, please allow up to 15 minutes for us to prepare your table.

We arrived on time for our reservation and had to wait about 15 minutes. Service was only okay. Food very good. Ambiance was about as expected, including noisy.
My “medium” steak for my fajitas was borderline raw; the rest of the food was marginal; service was marginal as well. Not up to par for uncle Julio’s, won’t return to this location.
Our tables were ready on time. I truly appreciated the outstanding service the waiters provided the evening we celebrated my daughter’s birthday. Everyone was friendly and the food was delicious! Thank you!
Uncle Julio's is always, always, the best at what they do. Great food, great drinks, almost always outstanding service. I've been coming to UJ's for as long as I remember and I'm never dissatisfied. It's our go to spot for date night, kid's birthdays, family dinner, lunch...etc. There is never a bad time to to go Uncle Julio's.
Always enjoy Margaritas and Shrimp Camerones at Uncle Julio's! Never hardly disappointed with food or service there. Food served hot and sizzling with plenty of chips and salsa.
Celebrated a birthday at Uncle Julio's. The flow of the meal was erratic. The appetizers, which included a table side guacamole, were not served at the same time. Service extremely slow. Food just okay. The music was so loud that you couldn't hear people talk at table. The kitchen kept dropping dishes and trays. I don't call this energetic. I call it plain noisy!
I’m incredibly disappointed with your menu catering to vegetarians. There are THREE items specifically geared to individuals who do not eat meat: veggie fajita quesadilla, veggie fajitas, and cheese and onion enchiladas. I ordered the combination enchiladas with the cheese/onion and asked if I could have a veggie one. Our waiter immediately said no. I mentioned there is only 3 options on the menu I don’t think a veggie enchilada would be difficult. The waiter stated he would check and let me know. He came back and stated he could. When the food was brought out, my veggie dish had a meat sauce and beans. It was taken back and a second dish 15min later was brought out- it looked fine and as I was finishing to eat my veggie enchilada I noticed a piece of chicken. I immediately stopped eating. Not long after the effects on my body was incredibly gross and uncomfortable. The manager clear up my $12 dish from the check which was fine but for the establishment to me Mexican food, and ONLY have THREE dishes catering to vegetarians. This is aggravating. I can get my correct and decent order from Taco Bell. I expect better from a chain establishment like Uncle Julio’s.
Website much more appealing. Still a good experience.
We’ve been here many times, and on our last visit the noise level was so high that we couldn’t have a conversation. The food was good in general, although two of us ordered a salad that had far too much lettuce and far too little of anything else. Mine literally had one cherry tomato cut in half on the whole plate. On the plus side, our server was delightful.
Had a very enjoyable dinner at Uncle Julio's. Usually get margaritas and the bacon wrapped grilled shrimp. Always very good!
I made an online reservation for 8:45 for a party of 6. I checked in at the front desk at 8:15 and they marked us as arrived and stated that we should be seated in about 10 minutes. At 8:45pm I went back to the check in stand and was told the table was being cleaned off and would be ready any minute. Around 9:00pm my entire party (including myself) had become very frustrated. Several other parties were complaining to the manager about the wait. I looked around and there were several clean tables with no one seated. I went back to the stand and again was told a table would be ready in just a minute and within a few seconds we were seated and were told a manager would come up to check on us since we had waited so long. The manager never made an appearance and we still are not sure how a table became available so quickly when we had waited such a long time. We are frequent customers of Uncle Julio's but this night makes me question whether my family or I will be coming back.
Took the family to Uncle Julio’s for a special event. Food was very good; service a tad slow but the restaurant was very crowded so that should be expected I guess. Overall very good.
Food was good as always. Service was slow and we had to remind our server of things we'd requested.
Our reservation was 7:30 we didn’t get seated until 8:15 our waiter was too busy flirting with his other tables then worrying about us. We waited over an hour for our food because of that. I usually eat here all the time but this time was my birthday and they didn’t satisfy me and my family what so ever.
The waitress Gladis was outstanding. Great food and customer service.
We will be back again.
Amazing food, as always!
Food was great as always. Our server this time around wasn't very good at all. Maybe it just wasn't her day. We had to ask for everything, refills, more chips, can we order now, etc.? She didn't have many tables that we could see.
The food was absolutely amazing. I would recommend this for just about anyone.
Uncle Julio's is always terrific. The food is outstanding and there are lots of fun drink options. It is great for a loud, fun, party, but definitely not a place to go if you are looking for quiet conversation.
Service was poor. Took us forever to get drinks. Guacamole was sub par. You couldn't even taste the lime in it.
In short, the hostess, Jasmine, was less than friendly and rudely unaccommodating. She was dishonest about the availability of the table; not only could we see the table but another host standing behind her had already confirmed the availability and the expression showed on his face when he heard her response. The service we adequate but very slow as often it is when we dine here. We will be looking for a new Mexican staple.
Had out of town visitors and wanted to share the Uncle Julio's experience. We had great good and enjoyed the night!
We have been to Uncle Julio's several times and only go on nights when it's nice to dine outside. The music in the restaurant is much too loud to have a conversation but better outdoors.
Overall a nice chain restaurant to go to with kids. One Loudoun overall had a nice ambience. We had made a reservation and got there earlier than expected but the hosts clearly could not figure out how to seat us prior - even when tables became free. So, if you do get the early then put yourself on the list under a different name!
We were just there this past Saturday night. We got lucky and had a table outside which was really good since the weather was so nice. Food was great, service also. Fajita's with lobster, Enchiladas and more.
Love the Fajitas! Thank you for now taking reservations online. Food never disappoints, so delicious. A little loud, but worth it for the food.
Uncle Julio’s has totally reliable food and value. We went there for dinner because we had a coupon for a free chocolate piñata. Our dinners were very good but the piñata was amazing. Dark chocolate, fresh fruit, crispy donut like pastries, caramel sauce, whipped cream and more. We LOVE Uncle Julio’s!!
Great food, we love Uncle Julios! For some reason, the margaritas and sangria were not as good as at the Reston location - they were syrupy and too sweet here this night. However, we had great fajitas and this is a fun/casual place with a good vibe. It won't disappoint!
It was me and my sister’s first time there for our 19th birthday, and it was awesome! We shared a chocolate piñata. Will definitely come back!
Our server, Emily, was excellent! Tried the queso blanco for the first time. Really good! We had Mama Julio's nachos and the chicken quesadilla. Both great.
Reservation was not possible for outdoor dining 😟. So we had to wait for 15 min however made reservations.
Outstanding good Mexican food
Service was not good this time around unfortunately 😐. Even after stating gthus was my husbands birthday celebration 😳
Food and service is always wonderful! We come here for all special occasions.
Great food and service. Loved that they seated us right away, when we showed up for our reservation, even though they had walk-ups waiting. Food is consistently good here. Service is getting better with every visit.
Great food and great service! Servers are very attentive even when things get busy!
Very nice outdoor seating
Been eating at Uncle Julio's since the early 1990's and it never disappoints. My cousin was in from Florida and has never eaten here so I thought it would be a treat. Also, my 8-year-old daughter has been begging for us to get the chocolate pinata, but we've never had enough people. This time we did, and it was amazing. Got the tableside guacamole which was amazing. The food for everyone at the table was great. Because it was a Friday night, reservations are a MUST.
Excellent food and service! We dined outside at a lovely round table!
Visiting from California I wasn't sure of the authenticity of Tio Julio's Mexican cooking. What a suprise ! Great food great service I would return next time I am in town.
Had a great time there. Our waiter even tracked us down outside to bring my wife her cell phone that she left on the table. Great place to spend an evening with friends or family.
