About Uncle Tony's

Welcome to Uncle Tony's!
Nonna would approve...

Quality takes time. That’s why gravy is slow-simmered on the stove, where ingredients are carefully selected and prepared.

This is how Frank Sinatra preferred it. Chef Carlos De Veyra, chef of Uncle Tony’s and nearby Woods Restaurant, has created a menu of old classics that the Rat Pack would approve of.

Go back in time at this nostalgic 1960's Pizzeria and Pasta Bar accompanied by sounds of accordions and Italian singers. Select seating on bar stools at the pizza oven, in the kitchen, or in a cozy mob-style booth. Uncle Tony’s is open 7 days a week, Monday to Friday for lunch and dinner, Saturday and Sunday dinner only.

Not much to choose from on the menu, and as a vegetarian the Cauliflower bites were just so-so, a little undercooked IMO. Cramped quarters, waitstaff kept tripping over my chair and I kept protecting the candle on our table from any mishaps with customers butts grazing by. At one point, I leaned back in my own chair and was poked in the back with a wine bottle opener that was in a waiters back pocket. Waitstaff was friendly and environment was true to Old Blue Eyes Italian-American, complete with live accordion player belting out tear-jerking Frank Sinatra songs, who was the highlight on the evening. Great ambiance and cute date night but nothing extraordinary.

Such a great spot for a cozy, intimate dinner - the decor is warm and welcoming, the atmosphere is wonderful, the food is DELICIOUS (special shout out to the rigatoni and the Carbonara pizza) and the service is attentive and personable. Really love this place, looking forward to our next visit!

This restaurant provides a very nice ambiance. It’s casual dining but gives you a feel good experience. The seafood pasta was very tasty. Pizzas looked great. We would come back for sure.

Great food, the risotto of the day was with duck confit (excellent). Good price for a very nice bottle of Gavi! Accordion too loud on a Friday night. I have been several time (lunch and dinner) and never disappointed.

They were very accommodating as they made us up a meal that was not on the menu. That said, the service was challenging as they had one person serving the entire restaurant. She tried her best but at the cost of good service.

Normally one of our favourite local spots, however, they now appear to have a new chef and needs time to establish his presence and style. We ordered 3 different main courses, two of which were sub-par. The waitress was lovely, and customer-centric and offered to redo the orders, however, it was getting late and the group did not wish to repeat the order.

I really enjoyed the old world atmosphere and the food that tasted like home-made. In a city of hundreds of "Italian" restaurants, this one definitely stands out!

Great food, and ambiance was even better with live accordion music...only on Fridays and Saturdays. Best thin crust pizza and nice Italian wine selection. I would definitely go back for a fun night out with friends.

Service was excellent: crisp and efficient. Pizza was so-so - not terribly inspired but not bad either. Atmosphere was very good - mostly a local, business lunch crowd. The restaurant occasion was a luncheon with a friend and it served its purpose well. I would go back. I would likely order a different pizza (mine was "Bianchi") or perhaps pasta just for a try.

We had a great meal at Uncle Tony's. I hadn't realized that it would include a wonderful old Italian atmosphere and some nice booths. Its casual, but we were dressed for the theatre. Ron and Michael were our waiters and they took really good care of us. Toward the end of our meal Dennis came in to play Italian songs on his accordion. Great time. we will go there again and recommend it to others as well..

Went with a group of friends before going to a concert at the Sony Centre. Service was very efficient and professional. Food was also very good. We shared a few appetizers and we all had pizza which was very good. We also indulged in desert which was excellent......basil ice cream....different & delicious! We would definitely recommend Uncle Tony's!

HORRIBLE SERVICE.
Showed up for our 730pm reservation. Sat for 15 minutes and no one acknowledged us. 2 tables that arrived after us were served (1 was directly beside us). Called over wait staff who had no clue who was supposed to serve us. The place was not that busy, there were 3 wait staff who completely ignored us. We got up and told them why we were leaving.
Huge disappointment.
Lucky for us we managed to get into another restaurant close by, and received the best service and had a wonderful meal.

The restaurant was smokey with something burning in the oven that filled the small room quickly. The air vents couldn't handle the smoke and it concentrated in the front and was burning our eyes. The food was okay, not very flavourful for Italian tastes and there are a lot better choices out there. Service was friendly. Overall it was okay but I wouldn't go back.
