Main complaint in past was very slow service. Our waiter was excellent and food came out promptly. Everything we ordered was very good. Nice ambiance if not maybe on the noisier side. Will definitely go again to see if they stay this good.

This year our wedding anniversary coincided with Mother’s Day. We made a reservation for 4, and that morning learned that another person would be coming to town so I called to ask if we could possibly expand the reservation to 5. The manager said it was their busiest day of the year and that no, nothing could be done. I said I understood, but then he said, “Well, I’ll make it work.” Effusively thanked him, feeling very fortunate. We arrived at the restaurant at our 7:00pm reservation time, and we were seated in a room away from the dining room, a bar area where there were high top tables and four or five standard height tables. It appeared to be the area where servers enter orders. There was one table occupied by a family with small kids and the other 8 or so were vacant. One of the tables was a six-top but instead of seating our party of 5 there, the restaurant pulled up a fifth chair to one end of a four-top, making it pretty crowded for three of us. No one was ever seated at the empty six top for the 2.5 hours we were there. Being seated outside of the dining room, we were at the table a full 30 minutes before anyone appeared to ask if we wanted a cocktail or wine. 30 minutes more and drinks arrived. Meanwhile, two in our party took trips to the restroom and saw several open tables in the actual dining room. We ordered small plates about 70 minutes into our time at the table, and since the menu says to allow up to 40 minutes for Paella, we placed that order at the same time. All of it was brought to the table at once, and that four top table got really awkward. The food at Under the Cork Tree is without exception spectacular. Every dish was wonderful. But man, being seated in the empty extra room with service that feels like an abandonment when there were open tables in the actual dining room just isn’t worth the $400+ we spent on the experience that night. I don’t foresee us going back, unfortunately.

We sat at the bar and had amazing food and excellent service from Marco. We started with The Grand Tasting…. Everything was sumptuous. For two people, that’s dinner, but of course we ordered a couple of additional things. The octopus a la plancha was out of this world.

We went as a group of 8 for a birthday celebration. It’s a great restaurant for sharing food. With the common disappointment of eating out these days it is very refreshing to actually enjoy dinner out! The staff was great and the food was awesome! We enjoyed the scallops with risotto in squid sauce, ribeye steak, paella with chorizo, chicken and shrimp!! Yummy!!!! Desserts were delicious too! We will be back for sure!!

There on a Saturday night with friends. Waiter was prompt, friendly but a little pushy. We ordered three small plates and one large to share. The cod fish balls were so salty that two of the four diners could not eat them. We ordered the mixed grill done “medium” at the request of the waiter. The chicken meat and the pork was pink and bloody. When the waiter returned and asked about the meal, he was told about the undercooked meat. He grabbed the plate of meat and said that he would check with the chef. He returned a few minutes later and asked if we wanted dessert. Not another word about the undercooked meat. We declined dessert, paid the check and left, certain that we would never return.

As a regular at this restaurant, I am sad to report that my recent experience was subpar. While I have enjoyed their menu in the past, I found the innovative dishes lacking on my most recent visit. Specifically, the octopus and squid ink risotto failed to impress, lacking the flavorful punch that I had come to expect from this establishment. To add to my disappointment, the service was not up to par either. Despite being a regular, I felt that the staff was not very attentive and seemed to be rushing through their duties. Overall, I hope that the restaurant can improve its innovative dishes and service in the future. As a loyal customer, I am looking forward to returning and experiencing the high quality that I have come to expect from this restaurant.

We enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch of tapas presented by an outstanding server, Kelley. He helped us through the menu and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our luncheon. His enthusiasm and easy-going manner added significantly to the ambience of our lunch. The end of our meal we met the manager who assisted us with some other travel planning‘s while we were in Atlanta. This is our second visit to this restaurant in here as we’re only in Atlanta every so often. But it is 53. a for sure stop each time! We especially enjoyed the octopus, mussels, and clams, and charcuterie board.

We love this place! 1st time there and we thought the small plate concept was awesome for trying many dishes and not breaking the bank! I mentioned to the GM that we were going to come Monday for my wife's birthday but seen they were close so we went Tuesday. He sent us a birthday dessert on them. 3 delicious Macaroons with a candle in the center one and Happy Birthday written in chocolate on the plate. Thank you UTCT!
