My boyfriend and I went to Honu last night for his birthday dinner. The atmosphere was very cozy and they had great live music. Grace was a wonderful server - very personable and went the extra mile to take care of us. Sal was very attentive to our needs as well. The service really was notable. Our food was delicious - we especially loved the french onion soup with short rib and the parmesan truffle fries! We were SO disappointed when we got home to realize we had forgot our leftovers on the table! Will just have to come back again for more. Thank you for a great experience!

Four of us dined starting at 6:15 on a Thursday. By the end of the nice, most tables were filled. The menu items and preparation were excellent. As some of our dishes required dipping to fully enjoy the dish, we were happy that the server was willing to refill our bread basket. We did order two drinks and the glass looked like we did not get an entire drink. This was verified when my husband ordered a second drink and his glass came fuller than the first. Other than that, nothing was negative about the experience.

We asked for a quiet table. The very friendly hostess suggested the room next to the main restaurant with fireplace and just a few tables. It was perfect for us! Everything we ordered was excellent and the portions were generous. We were glad we ordered side salads which were delicious-could not have finished a full one. We are looking forward to another meal at grappa next time we are in Rochester.
