Mary was very kind & knowledgeable of the menu. It was our first visit and she took the time to go over what the restaurant was about, the appetizer special, and the featured cocktail. This was an unexpected treat. Picked it just because it looked ok and was close to TLA for a concert. Turned out to be much better than just a convenient destination before a show. Visited the Chop House the evening of 1/1/2023. We had a table reserved but decided to eat at the bar as we enjoy the cozy atmosphere. We had the strip steak, mashed potatoes and asparagus. This was our firs visit to the Plumsteadville Inn and it will not be our last. First, the service by the waiter and the bus person was excellent! Drinks arrived at out window table soon after ordering. The cabbage wraps appetizer was delicious as were our veal dinners. Despite being full at the dinner hour and jazz (Miles Davis etc.) being played in the background, the restaurant was not loud. You could easily communicate the rest of your party.

The General Warren restaurant was a great experience. The grounds are beautiful as is the building and the dining rooms. The menu is somewhat limited but covers enough choices. I had the pork schnitzel which was very good and my wife had the risotto. Our waiter Rich told my wife that the serving size was on the small side. It was small but adequate. We had the mint chocolate cake for dessert. All in all a really nice dinner.

The appetizer, the lobster role was delicious. Both entrees were some of the best foods we have ever eaten. The filet mignon was tender and juicy, and the swordfish was to die for. Finally, the desert, creme burlet topped everything off, simply wonderful. It's a 2-hour dinner commitment; well worth every minute. Must have reservations.
