Don’t believe the hype. The scenery is nice, and the staff tried really hard. But the food was greasy, bland, and way overpriced. Our table (and other tables around us) was covered in dirt. There were bees everywhere. The bathrooms were gross. It was just an unpleasant dining experience in terms of food and cleanliness.

Our food came out cold. We order wings and crab cakes and truffle fries. The waiter was disinterested in serving us and suggested I do not know what I crab cake is because I asked flr it to be crispy. (Its a pan-seared dish btw) Lastly, I order another crabcake to go and when I got home to eat it, it was room temp and seemed like it was sitting out for a bit. I would recommend this place for people of a certain population….and those that do mot care about service.

Perfect almost fall day to eat outside. Servers were friendly but we needed to ask to be moved away from a large noisy party. Béer I ordered not available Forbidden Inn?? A little annoying

Chicken salad got rave reviews from 3 in our party. Crab cake and steak and blue cheese wedge also got 5 stars. I had the Pork barbecue over a vegetable medley, vegetables were outstanding and the pork ribs were boneless and meaty.

I’ve never left a bad review for a restaurant before, but our dinner here was not a very enjoyable experience. It felt like they had BOH staff working FOH to accommodate the wedding that was going on in the back (if this is the case, I hope it’s not a frequent issue). Despite not being very busy in the restaurant area, everyone working there seemed a bit frazzled and our waiter even forgot about our table after giving us water. We weren’t able to place our order for about half an hour after being seated. As for food, our steaks were decent but the wings we ordered for the table were great!

So wonderful, everyone was so nice and prices were much more reasonable than I would have expected. Loved the complimentary muffins with brunch and the ability to bring my dog. They were so accommodating and kind to her.

Fresh, delicious food, perfectly cooked, exciting flavors, large portions of appetizers, salads, entrees and dessert. Large pours of drinks too. Knowledgeable, friendly, welcoming servers. We will definitely return.

We loved having lunch out on the porch. It was a beautiful day for eating outsideThe table we were sitting at was very wobbly. And we wished there were more choices on the menu. Other than that we had a wonderful time. This was our second time here and hopefully when we come back again those two items we spoke of will be fixed!!

This restaurant is in a lovely setting by the river and forbidden drive. The porch was lovely - covered but open to the air. The staff was friendly and efficient. The food was OK but not wonderful - the fries were not fresh and crisp. The salad was just lettuce with a not nice dressing (and it was overdressed). Overall was expensive.

The food and location is always great. Unfortunately, we got sat next to a family that kept staring at us and their children were pretty noisy throughout the meal. Also the restaurant ran out of my favorite dish, kind of a bummer considering we went there in the first place to celebrate my birthday. Obviously, out of their control though. Service was so-so, they were very busy for a Sunday evening and their wait staff appeared to be struggling. Our waiter was kind and tried to be as supportive as he could be despite the chaos, but we ended up not even staying for dessert due to the amount of time dinner took and the slower service. Hoping things will improve soon as we do always enjoy our food.

One of the best brunches I’ve had in the area or anywhere. We were seated promptly for our reservation, the porch seating was beautiful, able to have a nice relaxed lunch and not feel rushed. The staff is amazing, Tristan our server was great and very personable. Will be going back and definitely recommend!

We sat on the patio and it was just lovely - the servers are all very kind and funny-the food was exceptional - I had medallions, my husband had maple chicken - we split a berry shortcake for dessert - can't wait to go back!

Sat outside on a warm summer evening and enjoyed everything but the side salad. Filet, mashed potatoes, fries and burger were all seasoned very well with lots of flavor. Definitely will be back.

We had a wonderful time. Food and service was good. The parking was horrendous!!! It took over a half an hour for someone in our party to park. If some of the party were not present we would have lost the reservation.

We had dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and the front-of-house manager (after chatting for a few minutes when the subject came up) gave us cocktails on the house, which was very nice. The food was excellent and so was the service. It had been a very hot day, but we chose to sit on the front porch and the shade from the park made it very pleasant. The location is scenic and very nice, and I would not hesitate to go back again!
