Vee Vee has a welcoming and comfortable outside terrace to enjoy an early summer's evening. Service is prompt, professional and friendly. The food is very well prepared and delicious. We started with fabulous home made potato chips and onion dip which was impossible to stop eating. That was followed by amazing gnocchi in favorable meat sauce and tuna prepared perfectly with watercress/pea salad. Both perfection. To end the meal, we shared delicious moist coconut cake and a strawberry/rhubarb crumble. Jamaica Plain is fortunate to have this world class restaurant on Centre Street. Great wine list too.

Great food, professional and friendly staff and such a lovely hidden patio rounded off a superb evening. Fried chicken Tuesdays, or any day at Vee Vee's, never disappoint. Kudos to Kristen and Dan and their amazing kitchen and front-line staff - customer service and food at its finest.

We have eaten at local superstar VeeVee many times but last night everything seemed kicked up a notch, fabulous service, memorable wines by the glass and the appetizers competed with the entrees for best in show. The fried oysters and shiitake mushroom appetizers were fantastic and the fresh tuna steak was perfect I can never leave without their nostalgic butterscotch pudding. . Add to all of this the gorgeous secret patio and lovely weather and I am ready to return ASAP. thank you!

First time on the patio this year. It was a perfect night, and the food was excellent. The homemade chips with black garlic dip, crunchy mushrooms, steak, potatoes, and greens, and the perfectly seared rare tuna.

The lamb loin special was fabulous; the care put into it and the absolutely fresh fava beans and fried leeks made it outstanding. Artichoke pasta was good too. Nice desserts, friendly service, good wines.

We had a wonderful time and Vee Vee accommodated a friend who had a number of dietary restrictions. Food was delicious and service was good as always. The only complaint was that night it was particularly warm in the restaurant though very chilly outside. We should have mentioned it but assumed there must have been a reason to keep it so warm. Everything else was perfect.

Gorditas are classic, such great kronsh! The crispy shitake mushrooms are addictive. Love that I can always find some delicious seafood entree with seasonal veg here. Outstanding service, cozy friendly neighborhood vibe. The secret patio is sheltered from sun and wind, has great outdoor heaters, and a lovely view of the blue sky. Love this place, glad to live near it again. <3

The food and service were great. Ordering all at once (apps and entrees) was a little strange. Also, we asked for an extra biscuit (fried chicken night) but were told that there was one biscuit per chicken dinner, which was also a little different. I would have liked a full bar, which wasn't clearly described on the website. It was only wine and beer.

Literally everything about this experience was perfect. The ambiance of the patio was excellent, intimate but not “too cozy,” super clean, the service was phenomenal I wish I remembered our server’s name because she was one of the best I’ve ever had. She was very knowledgeable about the drinks and food and made us feel so welcomed, like we were longtime friends. Complete professional. The food was the star, as it should be at a restaurant. Every single dish was flawlessly executed. The flavors were perfect together. We ordered the croquettes, baby back ribs, short rib special, gnocchi special, and orange carrot cake for dessert. The sauces on both appetizers were to die for, the meat on the ribs literally fell off the bones (which we completely licked clean). The gnocchi absolutely melted in my mouth and it pained me to finish the last bite because I never wanted it to end. I already cannot wait to come back to Vee Vee. 10/10.

The food is delicious. Portions are just right, not too big and not too small. Whether you order meat, fish or vege entree is top quality. Also presented beautifully. Desserts are ambrosic, sweet but not saccrine. Expensive (in the special celebration category) but well worth the expense. I bring many out of town folks here!

All I want anymore from any restaurant is what VeeVee has as a standard. Beautifully presented, tasty food in an appropriate portion with excellence in service. This is our go-to restaurant whenever we have guests coming from our of town.

As always the focused menu includes their ridiculously consistent and excellent crispy mushrooms and spicy ribs with creative seasonal vegetarian options (an excellent artichoke and egg pasta) and halibut with an briny, rich almost bisque like seafood broth. Several nice wines by the glass. A spring dessert special combined with our favorite butterscotch pudding. A nice night out. The patio is opening up (we were too late to grab one of those tables). Spring is here and summer is coming!.

Eating at VeeVee's is always a special experience and this evening did not disappoint. The short ribs with broccoli, and mashed potatoes were sumptuous, the bottle of wine we shared paired perfectly with our entree and the carrot coconut cake we shared for dessert was the perfect ending. As always the ambience was serene and the hosts and servers were delightful and well informed.

My wife and I recently dined at Vee Vee for the first time. It was for our anniversary and had a great meal. My wife's halibut melted in her mouth and the artichoke fettucine was fantastic. We've since recommended Vee Vee to others.
