We recently visited Vero Bistro again for our anniversary and it was exceptional. Both the food and service were top notch. We had the burrata to start, followed by the surf and turf and crème brûlée. This beautiful place is such a gem. We will definitely be back again!

I recently celebrated a quiet birthday at Vero Bistro, a charming restaurant tucked away on bustling Kensington Main Avenue. The ambiance was beautiful, offering a quiet and dark setting, perfect for an intimate celebration. Conveniently located, it provided a peaceful escape from the busy surroundings. We chose the chef's menu, a choice we've made at other restaurants in the past, we were met with excellent service. The staff was attentive, checking on us without disrupting our conversations. The four-course meal, each with three dishes, promised a culinary journey. However, I was disappointed to find that the chef's tasting didn't feature anything exclusive, making me question its value compared to ordering items separately from the regular menu. Despite this, the food was a delight. The sweet potato gnocchi with candied bacon stole the show, showcasing Vero Bistro's expertise in this dish. The steak frites were perfectly cooked and tender, although a bit more seasoning would have elevated the experience. The mushroom arancini impressed, but the truffle flavor was slightly overpowering; a bit less would have sufficed. The garlic-heavy escargot was divisive, as some enjoyed it while others, like me, prefer a more buttery flavor. The lamb skewers and bruschetta served as delightful starters with excellent flavors. The dessert, featuring lemon ricotta cheesecake and blueberry crème brûlée, provided a sweet and satisfying end to the meal. The smaller portion sizes were appreciated, considering how stuffed we were by the end. While we thoroughly enjoyed the meal, the dishes we had would have been cheaper ordered directly off the menu instead of as part of the chefs tasting. Some menu items, like the oyster mushrooms on prosciutto, fell short of expectations, making us wish we had chosen differently. Despite these considerations, Vero Bistro left a positive impression, and we would likely return for the inviting ambiance and delicious dishes.

AMAZING food, perfectly seasoned, smooth service, and the team was very generous with sending us a few 'treats' for waiting 30 minutes beyond our reservation time. Will be back for sure! Had a birthday dinner here and it was lovely. It was romantic, cozy and the food was delicious. Service was really great as well and the evening went very smooth. The decor is so cute, there are lights on the ceiling, makes you feel like you’re in Paris. Not pretentious and good vibes.

Vero continues to live up to the well-earned reputation of one of the finest restaurants anywhere. The quality of the food is exceptional (we had a rack of lamb and osso bucco and truly excellent tira misu for dessert), the service is cordial and friendly backed up by solid knowledge. As always, Vero delivered a comfortable and professional dining atmosphere with attentive service. The menu's star was the steak frites — the steak was cooked to perfection, tender and rich, paired exquisitely with golden, crispy fries. Every dish, prepared with care and quality ingredients, was a display of the chef's commitment to flavour and presentation. This was a top-tier dining experience, marked by an unforgettable steak, that was both impressive and heartily satisfying. Highly recommended!

Had never been to Vero Bistro before. We had the last sitting, so no one was there. The staff was awesome and very attentive, even at the end of the evening. The meal was Surf & Turf. Wasn’t cheap but was awesome! Came quickly, was hot, and presentation was great!

The ambiance of this place is pretty and a great spot for a date night. Service was warm and friendly and she always checked to make sure we were doing well. I enjoyed the main entrees but didnt love the appetizers. The unique attempt at some of the plates just didnt mesh well in my opinion.

The 3 of us shared the seafood platter which is meant for 2. We are all small eaters and knew that it would be enough, which it was, with even a few mussels and sauce to bring home. Everything on that platter was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The variety of fish and shellfish was amazing. There were mussels, clams, scallops, lobster tails, prawns, halibut, salmon cooked in a delicious tomato broth. We had grilled bread with it. Such a wonderful meal. Our server was great, friendly, attentive, answered all our questions. We left raving about the restaurant and couldn't believe we hadn't been there before. That will change.

Absolutely wonderful evening at this cute quaint bistro before Serena Ryder concert. Delicious dinner tomato salad and steak frites… gluten allergy so we had risotto instead of fries. Very accommodating and the steak was tender and wonderful flavour. We have our company Christmas party booked with them as well!! Thanks Chef Jenny for a wonderful dinner. Jody our server was knowledgeable and our wine pairing we perfect.

I have been wanting to try this restaurant for so long and so glad I finally did last night. The service was amazing. I cannot remember our servers name but she was wonderful. We went with the surf and turf platter, which is absolutely outstanding. Every single item on the platter was perfectly seasoned. The tortellini filled with mortadella and pork ragout was absolutely delicious. One the best past I’ve ever had. Will most definitely be back to try some more of the individual plates. All in all and 11 out of 10. Thanks so much for a great night!

I am seriously not able to give everyone a rating this high! Everything at Vero is perfect every time. I love the transformative atmosphere. The moment you walk in, you're transported somewhere else, somewhere romantic, classy, classic, yet comfortable. The food is amazing every time, and I mean amazing. It's memorable, and you crave going back! I've had the seafood platter three times now, and I want more! Somehow, this hidden gem has been around for over 15 years. GO, you will thank yourself for it!

We had dined there before and had a superb time with a great meal, good service, and good value. Unfortunately that was not the case this time. The food was great but that's where it stopped. The server made us feel like we needed to rush, and seemed ambivalent as to providing any kind of service. It started with the menus kind of strewn at the table, then when he arrived he just asked us about what we wanted to eat and had to be prodded to perhaps providing some drinks first...and so it went. We had to at one point ask for napkins only to find out that they had indeed cloth napkins and not just paper ones. The wine list had many very expensive options but few under a $100 (unlike at our previous visit). So while the food was great the experience was not...won't be back.
