Pre Second City Dinner.
Located in the Germain Hotel.
Food was excellent, but pricey given the decor and wait staff attire.
Service was very good until the bar area got crowded with hotel guests. This made it hard to get the bill since we were one of two tables in the restaurant and the other couple left.
Excellent service, great food, lovely ambiance - what more can you ask for?
Amazing food and service!
We had a great time here for New Years Eve. The restaurant was pretty much empty, but we were there quite early.
Food was great, service was lovely. Will definitely return.
Had a great Xmas dinner here! Family style! Portions were big and all the food was amazing. Thanks again to Susi, our server, she was great!
We spend Christmas Day in Toronto every year to have dinner with my daughter. We stay in a hotel and there are very few places to have a great Christmas dinner. We have eaten in several hotel restaurants on Christmas and meals have been good but Victor was excellent! The meal was delicious, the turkey was not over cooked. The staff was great. The price of the meal was very good value. Overall the price with wine was ver reasonable
Staff gave up their Christmas Day to serve our family and we're very accommodating and happy! Thank you.
My husband and I dined at Victor for the first time on Christmas Eve. I understand that holidays are more hectic for restaurants which explains longer waits and slower service. However, it appeared Victor was well understaffed with perhaps only 2 visible waiters for the entire restaurant. Since the restaurant was booked with reservations, they should be able to better manage staffing requirements. Consequently, our drinks we ordered (one cocktail and one glass of wine) took nearly ten minutes to arrive and by then we were enjoying our appetizer. The service remained slow for the rest of the night, so I do not suggest attending if you don't have a lot of time.
As for food, the pierogi appetizer was delicious: perhaps better than my Polish grandmother's homemade ones. The meals were good but nothing spectacular; if you are coming to Victor for the one of a kind meal, you may not get it here. We finished with chocolate cake which was very good.
The ambiance was romantic: French flare with low lights. You are somewhat close to surrounding tables, so you may overhear conversations but overall the noise level was not terrible.
I would recommend this restaurant but you may be disappointed in the bang for your buck and do anticipate a slower, but kind, service.
I made the reservation to be close to Glen Gould Studio as we were taking guest to Sinfonia Toronto. The meal was wonderful staff could not have been more attentive. The bread was housemade hot and delicious we had a 2nd helping 3 started with the mushroom soup of the day and the other had lobster bisque they all came together hot flavorful all satisfied. I had steak tartar for dinner and raved about it best she ever had. I had the scallops with carrot puree and sweet potato crisps everything cooked to perfection and the trout was amazing too. They have great wine by the glass. They know how to serve hot tea in the tea pot and have decaf cappuccino. We shared an amazing lemon tarte so flavorful. We were able to talk and socialize they had the music at a nice level so we could talk. If you are looking for a wonderful restaurant that provides a good ambiance fantastic food and service I would highly recommend you will not be disappointed this was my 2nd time at the Victor. They got us out in time so we did not need to rush to the concert too.
My friends, husband and I were looking to try out a new restaurant with good ambiance and food. We were totally thrilled with this restaurant, great service, food and drinks that was delicious and very healthy and awesome ambiance. We even saw/met stars from the television series Expansion. Yes star struck with the whole experience! 😉 We would totally go back and highly recommend it!
Great food! We had the lamb shank and pasta with brisket. Both were delicious. Huge plates made the portions look small but we left feeling full. We let the waitress know we had a show to attend and she had us out the door in an hour!
Both the server and sommelier were personable and genuine in their suggestions. This only added to a delicious meal with a very tasty bottle of wine.
The menu selection was terrific and the food was delicious. We were in and out with plenty of time to go to the theatre.
Very nice atmosphere with great service, very knowledgeable staff.
Quiet little gem in the Theatre District ...
Food was amazing and service was exceptional.
Absolutely love this place. Staff is amazing and attentive. Food is delicious. It is by far on of the best hidden gems in Toronto.
Have dined at Victor's on and off since it opened - love the size and ambiance of the restaurant - feels very European to me. Have tried many items on the menu....all of them very good! Love the new reno!
Very much enjoyed my dinner here. Started with a cocktail in the bar... I had the Rosemary Made me Do It (Ha! Great name) and my friend had the Carpano Manhattan. Both delish. Moved to the dining room for dinner and I really like the reno. Our server was pretty funny and friendly, I think his name was Cesar. Attentive but no over bearing. Started with the seafood tower. The crab claws were hard to get into, I wish they were shelled... bu the scallop ceviche was sooooo good. They also make their own strawberry sriracha which was tasty. My friend had the burger which he said was really juicy. I had a bunch of sides and the Charcuterie... I can't get enough. So that with the Mac n Cheese, Broccoli and kale... I was so full. Didn't have dessert, but ended with a espresso.
Oh yeah... tried a few different wines that they had by the glass - good range of selection. Had the Spanish sparkling with the seafood tower, then a glass of the Rose and finished with the Kew Soldiers Grant. A bit harsh initially, but the wine opened up and a few sips in was so smooth. Love that they're repping Ontario wine!
Chic urban experience. Open air concept.
Creative fusion dishes.
Our first time at the Victor. We were celebrating an anniversary and looking for low carb meal options. We found the menu worked very well for us and provided very good value. It was a little more in the open, actually next to the hotel lobby, than we thought. But the location is excellent, the service friendly and the atmosphere comfortable. It was very quiet which allowed for easy conversation.
Beautiful restaurant, but the bar was kinda crowded. Good food and friendly waiters. I had the scallops, very good. Wine was a bit warm, but overall great experience. I would definitely come back.
While the food was good, the service was terrible. The waitress was unprofessional and likely untrained. She failed to replenish cutlery, forgot orders, and made flippant remarks.
My wife and I had a late dinner here yesterday evening, and it was perfect! The food was delicious and the service was amazing and friendly. We started off with cocktails, I had the cheekily named "Orange Dictator"and my wife had the Le Germain( am homage to the hotel in which Victor resides). Both were delicious and balanced with the right amount of booziness.
We shared an appetizer of lobster sliders, which were delicate but decadent with just the right amount of lemon to freshen them up. For mains, I had a perfectly cooked NY Steak with crispy, well seasoned fries and my wife had the Rainbow Trout with Sweet Potato and greens. Both were amazing! And to top it all off, the Baked Alaska for dessert was a show stopper! We will definitely return, especially since we were told the chef was changing the menu next week to expand the offerings!
