The Village Anchor offers a unique setting in Louisville’s east end, both for personal and professional occasions. The Village Anchor Restaurant and Anchor Bar on the main floor bring together stone, red leathers, rich worn velvets, wrought iron, dark woods, Italian appointments, Carrera marble, and the original crimson red beer taps from Churchill Down’s Silks Bar. It offers an upscale-casual, fun environment with an inimitable European flavor and exotic French flair. The lower level Sea Hag Pub offers a completely different look and feel. The “Hag” brings together brick, worn woods, hand-wrought iron, stone, and copper. The 30-foot copper bar with built-in ice troughs chill your favorite brew or wine.

The ambiance was amazing. However, the food wasn’t as good as I expected especially for the price. In this particular restaurant, you are definitely paying for the location & ambiance. Food rates a 4 on taste. The Ceasar Salad was disgusting to be honest.

We come almost every Sunday and the food was good. Shannon was awesome as always, but the black guy needs MORE customer service! I don’t like him at all. We had reservations at 1:30 and we got there around 1:15 and he told us we had to wait until 1:30.. told us to wait at bar and there were OPEN TABLES AVAILABLE!!! And the table we was seated was OPEN!!! I DO NOT LIKE HIM AT ALL!! He has attitude problems.. I will start telling my friends not to come here and our friend was with us and she said he was rude to her!! Please FIX this ASAP!!

It was a beautiful day to eat outside and enjoy the weather. The food was excellent as usual and our server did a fabulous job. It’s just a great place to visit and be comfortable. Great selection of wines too. Everything on the menu is really good and it’s sometimes hare to pick. It is my favorite place to eat.

Disappointed in this place lately. Food and drinks are just average now. Cocktails aren’t really balanced and don’t seem to have high quality ingredients. Food was blah. Things (like the fried goat cheese) were forgotten in the salad. The ambiance on the covered patio isn’t great. Lights are too white, fans blow right in your face. I don’t know - it just isn’t really special anymore. We decided we are going to take a break from it for awhile.

We sat in the bar area and the service was very good. Noise level was high at first because we sat across from the ice maker and they were filling up buckets of ice for the dinner rush. It was better after that. The food was definitely southern cooking but it was just ok. Have been there for lunch several times and the food was very good. Not sure way dinner was just not up to par.
