Village Tavern Alpharetta
This was the first time, in the 15 years of dining at Village Tavern, that I have ever encountered a not so great meal. My daughter and I each ordered the 16oz ribeye steak dinner. We asked for salads as one of the sides and Asparagus as the other. Our waiter (Antoine) was quite busy but very attentive considering it was a very busy night. Our salads were forgotten therefore not brought out until after our steaks. Our steaks were cooked much thoroughly then requested. (Mind well done instead of medium rare, my daughter's should have been medium but was more like leather. yikes!). Well since a server brought them to us, our waiter noticed moments later. He automatically offered to take them and have them cooked correctly. The manager came to our table and insisted on taking our dinners off the tab and gave us each a $25 giftcard as well. We never complained and they took very good care of us. Definitely will continue enjoying dining at Village Tavern.
Had a great time with friends. Seated immediately, great service, great food! The filet was spot on!
This is our favorite restaurant! They never let you down.
My friends Birthday
We always have great service but his time it was awful. We waited almost an hour to get our order taken he service was busy taking care of a big group and ignored up. Good thing I had a glass of wine and a good dinner companion to talk with.
Yusef was amazing and made our first visit here enjoyable! We WILL be back.
I’m an infection preventionists and the wood blinds next to our table we’re filthy. It was hard for us to enjoy our food because of this. The food and server were great though!
Service was EXTREMELY slow
Very nice spot! Been a few times and enjoyed each experience - for dinner and for brunch.
Every bit of food we've tried here has been delicious! We've tried half the menu by now. Even the to go food heats of wonderfully. Thank you for everything!
Terrible green beans. Oversoaked in oil and clearly was in a pan next to raw fish.
Fish fry meal had way to much breading with scanty amount of fish.
Server would speak mostly to the men at the table. Even going so far as to ask them if the ladies liked their meal. ???? Thought I went back to 1952!
I had my first meal here just a month ago and absolutely loved it. This is why we came back for a meal this past week and boy what a difference .....and not for the better. Will not come back
Good food, great service and nice wine. We’ll be back.
This is one of the best restaurants in the greater Atlanta area. It is good sized but quiet, great atmosphere and the menu is loaded with great choices.
All was going well until paper was found cooked into the crab cakes. Of course that was disturbing enough - to be pulling what looked like newspaper from food that's been cooked and served, but it was the insincerity of the waitstaff that made it WORSE. The first thing out of her mouth was "so what do you want me to do?" I was stupified and asked for the manager who then proceeded to tell me what I was seeing wasn't at all what I was seeing. I showed him how the paper had been battered onto the crab meat and cooked and he was like, "no, it couldn't have been", so I showed him my plate. He removed the charge for the meal and gave me a ticket for a return visit. Great, that's how it should have been but frankly it was a little lackluster after his and his staff's first response. Accidents happen - apologize, compensate if possible and be contrite. DON'T tell the customer their wrong and what they are looking at isn't what they're looking at for Pete's sake.
Worked great for our new location celebration
Great place to meet friends for lunch. Good food and great atmosphere.
First time there. Food was excellent. Great choices. Waiter was outstanding
Great food as always. Never eat the same item twice and I have yet to be disappointed. Evening was low key but I don’t normally come on a Sunday night. Place was packed but not like a Friday or Saturday.
On downside was service, which was incredibly slow. Unusual because that has never been an issue before.
We had brunch on Sunday at Village Tavern. We dine there fairly often. The Pimento Cheese Dip is usually good but they could stand to cut their carrots a bit more into smaller pieces! My Brie and Bacon Omelet was not bad. My husband had the Quesodilla and he said it waa not good—this from a man who is not picky about food.😬 Don’t let the hostess seat you in the rear dining room on a Sunday at lunchtime unless you don’t mind being surrounded by large parties possibly with babies and small kids. It gets raucous!
Had a 7:45 reservation, but didn’t get seated until almost 8:15. After being seated no one came to the table for almost 10 minutes. First time we’ve experienced this at VT. Hope it was a one-off and not the new normal.
Tried the crab cake. Not a fan; a bit dry (perhaps on a busy night it got over cooked)
It was my wife's birthday I made my reservation for 7:45 in the evening my guests arrived on time the girl at the reception seemed annoyed I was passed until 8:20 pm and being inside the service was. one only that the waitress only appeared once and finally to ask for a small cake I had to remind him that I needed it when the application had already asked me and I had warned the restaurant of my cake I think not very well service for What did I pay
Absolutely packed Sat night. We had a reservation for four and were seated right on time. Our server was very friendly but I think overwhelmed by the crowd-he had several misses re our order. That said we.re all long time patrons and would return in spite of the misses. The food was uniformly good so no issue there!
The food is consistently fantastic.
Excellent food, great atmosphere! I’d definitely eat here again!
Our server (Mike) gave us excellent service!!! The food is always delicious! The Butter Cake is the best dessert from anywhere!
The Village is always constant - great food, wonderful service, a comfortable ambience, and great value. What more could one want?
Very consistent. Upscale casual dining. Good salads and mains. Reasonably priced.
Good all purpose venue. Large groups or small. Lunch or dinner or drinks. Varied menu. Something to satisfy everyone.
Village Tavern is a consistently great performer in all aspects. It is one of two favorite restaurants.
I highly recommend it!
Food was excellent! Service was excellent! Lovely ambience. Sooo enjoyed the evening!
Scott was fantastic!
Hilda was an awesome waitress! She put us at ease and made everything perfect.
Our service was perfect, the food was amazing! Couldn’t ask for anything more...except for a bit lower pricing!
This place is excellent! Very good food and service. Menu is topnotch and reasonable. Would highly recommend.
Wife ordered steak au poive medium. Was rare and chewy so she didn’t eat it. Taylor took it off the bill. Other three meals wS good. Taylor was irritated that we complained.
Hilda was an excellent server!
Great service and food. Our server was amazing! My son had the Cuban and said it was one of the best he has ever had.
Great food options and great service from Hilda!
Unless you’re a party of six you cannot sit near the nicer areas near fireplace or in the key viewing areas. Although the service was very good, the Seabass is only 6 ounces And probably wait less after it was cooked, very small for $30 in my opinion.
Upon arriving I noticed that there were 3 people behind the hostess desk. All with their eyes down looking at their computer screen engaged in a conversation. There were a couple of other guests milling about the reception area and I couldn’t tell if they had been helped or if a work in process.
At no point was I greeted. I had to initiate the conversation by announcing that I was checking in for my reservation. Was acknowledged with a response just short of annoyance.
Table service was fine. Food was fine.
Did not leave the meal feeling that I had made a good choice for the evening.
May or may not return
Live in Cincinnati come down once a month and I have to make this a stop !!!
French onion soup is the best I’ve ever had !! I pair it with the beet salad 💕 My husband had the bacon pimento hamburger. Said it was one of the best burgers he has ever had.
