We’ve been coming here for years and the quality of the food has never dropped. We even commented that we’ve never had a bad dish here. The duck on special was incredible and of course the steak frites with blue cheese butter was so delicious and cooked perfectly. Our waitress Kate was very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list. Will continue coming back as this is our favorite restaurant in Durham!

We went here after a play at DPAC and it was everything I was hoping for in a French meal, my daughter and son finally got to try escargot, which they loved, and the service and food were both impeccable, we will definitetly be back!

We live in Charleston, sc. it is a virtual Mecca to food presently! Our dinner at Vin Rouge was outstanding. The service was super 5 star, the food and presentation was 5+++++. We have eaten all over the world, and I can say this was a wonderful dining experience and we hope to return. One note- we talked while there that employees seemed , dare we say, HAPPY? Whatever vibe y’all are cookin’ up over there, keep it up!

This dining experience was everything I hoped for: atmosphere, menu, food, service. We were given all the time we wanted during our meal with desert; admittedly it was an early dinner hour and the restaurant was not busy yet. I was delighted with the whole evening. Thanks, Vin Rouge! Will definitely return for another special occasion.

One of my favorite restaurants for many many years. Very expensive but worth it for the whole experience. Food is delicious drinks are amazing ambiance literally feels like you've stepped out of Durham and into bistro in France somewhere accepted of course people are speaking English instead of French. My wife and I have gone here for anniversary probably for the last 14 years. And whenever we feel like it during the year. Steak frites, my favorite. Also some of the best chocolate mousse you'll ever have.

Good food, attentive service, and quaint ambiance. First food delivered was an incorrect order, but it was swiftly rectified with no fanfare. My wife and I left 100% satisfied. We are not regulars, but have eaten at Vin Rouge numerous times over many years. It is consistently good. Always good, but just misses being near-great.

Vin Rouge was a great date restaurant. Cozy and intimate, not too loud. The wait staff was highly attentive and knowledgeable. The food was outstanding, well seasoned, our meals came out quickly, would highly recommend to anyone looking for upscale dining.

Excellent french bistro- any time. I have had a wonderful experience parents weekend at Duke and off weekends. The almondine trout and bread pudding is excellent! The service shout out to Garrett was terrific! Andrew took over the restaurant and was a welcoming host ! Will be back!

Close to our 10th visit and one of the best. The steak was cooked to perfection with a wonderful flavored butter. The Mac n Cheese boasts a very flavorful cheese. We always order the beet salad which is topped with a yummy goat cheese. Loved the tapenade they served with crusty bread. A delightful way to celebrate our 45th anniversary.

We absolutely love Vin Rouge and see it as our one and only brunch locations in town. It has been beautifully dependable since it first opened. We go whether it is just the two of us or we take our family. We even have our extended family give us gift cards as gifts. The service, drinks, and ambiance hit the mark as usual but the food took a dip. We ordered two dishes that we always get. One was a little skimpy in its side dishes and the other had been changed to what I am sure makes it more of a classic French dish… but it was notably different than what we have been eating for years and just not as enjoyable. We will most likely come again for brunch but need to rethink what we will order. In general, our favorite restaurant disappointed us today.

When you walk into Vin Rouge, it’s like walking into a little bistro in France. The atmosphere was cozy and it was the perfect choice for our Anniversary celebration. The food was delicious and service was excellent. We started with escargot and shared the pork and hangar steak entrees and finished the night with coffee and chocolate mousse. Vin Rouge is now a staple for celebrations. The whole package!

Vin Rouge was a wonderful experience. The fish special was incredible. My friends got the salmon dish that was equally wonderful. Extensive wine list at reasonable prices. Excellent host and wait staff. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. I will definitely be back.

Great place, felt like I was in France. Everything so fresh. I had the pate for an appetizer, which was made in house and excellent and the Branzino for my entree. The fish was so fresh and perfectly cooked. Portion sizes were perfect too. Like the Europeans. Look forward to going back.
