Vons Steakhouse & Oyster Bar is locally owned and has been proudly serving Edmonton the highest quality of beef and seafood available since 1988.

Featuring a premium dining room, three private dining rooms and a premium casual lounge with exposed brick, New York style 30 foot bar and oyster bar this restaurant has something for everyone.

Happy Hour from Monday to Friday starts at 430 p.m.- 630 p.m. We serve our full menu in both the restaurant and oyster bar areas. Our Oyster bar generally features over 15 varieties of oysters are are shucked to order right in front of you by our bar chefs. We offer 30 wines by a glass with specific attention to Pacific Rim and Canadian Wines.

Dining reservations are recommended but not required. We love spontaneous visits. The lounge, patio and oyster bar area is first come first served. ( some exceptions )

It was a birthday dinner. We have not been to Von's for some time. We went early for the Buck a Shuck Oysters. We also shared the Seafood Platter, which was delicious. Lots and lots of food on the platter. Lobster, Crab, Mussels, Shrimp, Scallops. Came with Risotto and lots of vegetables. We took the Risotto and Veggies home. They also presented the Birthday Girl with a dessert.

We needed a night out of good food and good service. This was the first time we dined back at Von’s since COVID came this year. The Manager, Mido was very accommodating to our needs and made sure all our concerns were met. Our Server, Sonu followed suit by keeping this high level of care. Not only was the fine dining experience there, but the attention to adhering to safe practices was noted. The food was great and the service was impeccable. Glad to see Von’s provides what we had hoped for and how the Buck A Shuck night provided the fresh oyster selection and food selection we wanted and craved.

Birthday Dinner, the food was exceptional, the service impeccable
Sonnu was pleasant, helpful and attentive. The meal was exceptional and so was the drinks. Sonnu sang Happy Birthday with a piece of cake and a candle. My family had an amazing time.

We went for a date night on Saturday and with the exception of my meal being ordered incorrectly everything was great. I ordered a $41 goat cheese tenderloin that was served without the cheese or the red wine reduction as stated on the menu.
The manager was very attentive to our concern and ensured that my meal was corrected and then comped it off our bill and bought us a round of sangria and cheesecake! He definitely went out of his way to ensure we left happy and full - which we did! Thanks to Vons for being a stand up restaurant!

The food was great. It looks and taste good except for the bread. I know some people don't really mind 4 small pieces of bread but if you want to give the customer a really great experience everything needs to be excellent. I suggest giving the clients some garlic knots, 3 or 4 pieces of freshly baked bread, or a 6 or 10 inch piece of bread that they can slice themselves. To me, at least, it gives me the impression that everything is sumptuous and abundant. It also gives me the impression that what I'm getting is more than what I'm paying for. I don't want to take away from the great food that we had though. The Tuna Tartar was well seasoned, the Wagyu Carpaccio melts in your mouth and is complemented well by the horseradish cream, and the main course is definitely worth your money.

I just wanna thank Vons for the great steak value and price as well and I wonder about the bad comment during this time which is covid and people they go and have time to write story and complaining about price and too much stuff which is funny like few comments that been posted I was looking at the old reviews and I saw it and I laugh about people comments about price or backa chuk or even steak is bad or service or if you can’t afford to din in good restaurants do not go out of your house and keep posting silly comment hoping to get free stuff gift card or free food just appreciate those restaurants they are still open for you to enjoy your life instead of the lockdown....anyways thanks for Anand and bronond the great bartender ...he made my night and the manager medo his young but he so nice as well and he was looking after me and my husband every time thanks for the food and quality of service at vons the service now is way way way better than 8 years ago ...if I could give 10 stars I would

The mixed drinks and appetizers were excellent yet the filet mignon main course was good, but not great.

Service was rushed even if the place was virtually empty and I even had to tell the waitress to slow it down...We are not at McDonald's...

Von’s is dated, carpet worn menus were laminated pieces of paper that weren’t even centered. I get it might be Pandemic related but go digital than. Food was just ok. No beer on tap. Wasn’t the classy Von’s I remembered and was looking forward to.

The steamed vegetables and potato was heavily salted, there was conflicting music between the lounge and dining room which was clearly heard from each room while trying to converse and the meat portion of both meals, lobster tail and 2 cuts of beef, were dry and overdone. Stick with The Keg and save your hard earned dollar.

Started with the young man working the Reception Desk, not being able to find our Open Table reservation and the a co-worker finally did. Took us to the wrong table and we just happened to pass by the rest of our group, so finally found our table.

Ordered cocktails and my Old Fashioned showed up in a dirty and cracked glass.

Steaks were cooked to correct temperatures, but we ordered lobster tails at an additional cost of $20, which worked out to $10 per bite ... small to say the least. How can you justify $20 for a lobster tail that most shrimp would be larger than??

Totally understand COVID has stressed your industry, but we dine out regularly and this was by far the worst we have experienced.

Last time we were at Von's it was quite good, but sadly it has gone down hill and unlikely we will be going back.

If you're considering dining at Von's ... maybe save your time and money and go to some of the other better choices in the area. Very sad ......

When I booked the reservation, I had requested a quiet table for our anniversary. The manager noted that due to many large parties that evening, we were unable to be seated in a more private spot. We were okay with it of course, and it was still private enough. Throughout the night the service and food was impeccable. At the end, the manager surprised us with a free complimentary desert. Not sure if it was for our anniversary or not getting a more private table, but regardless the gesture was very nice. Will go back again. The tempura cauliflower for an appetizer was absolutely amazing!!

We sat in the bar area, as we have every other time we’ve been to Vons. Unfortunately the music was loud, and whatever service they used had advertising in it (free version of Spotify, maybe?). The food was really good, and the service was fine, but the loud music with advertising was really off-putting (we were quite close to the speaker as well).

Nice quiet surroundings with a fireplace, soft lighting. Perfect for a romantic evening. The staff were very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The wife and I both ordered the Filet which were done to perfection. The only downside was the spice used on the vegetables not quite my cup of tea. The soup (Tomato basil) was pipping hot and very favourful. The salad was deemed very nice. Wine selection was good. The desert selection was very nice I had the Chocolate cake (very nice with wonderfully creamy icing) , the lava cake was also deemed very good as well. All in all a wonderful dining experience.

My husband and I chose Von's to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary - and we were not disappointed! We were there on a Monday, which happened to be 50% off bottles of wine. Our server was wonderful at listening to the notes we like in wine and made a great suggestion that paired well with our meal.
The food was delish - and the portion size was generous! They were kind enough to also buy us a dessert for our special occasion as well.

the room as dimly lite with the fireplace going. Quiet and romantic.

We will definitely be back for year 9. xo

Very disappointing evening. The salad was excellent in taste and presentation, however, the main course was mundane in both. We requested dessert and waited - and waited - and waited. (The restaurant was never more than one third full.) What a difference a year makes! Last year, we felt we were pampered, this year, we were ignored. We shall not be returning.

It was my first time, and it was really good. I'm so glad we got to sit away from the hockey game and in the private dining area where the boardroom is. It felt intimate and cozy.

At the beginning of our meal however, there was something sort of banging/construction/tables moving going on which was annoying, but it ended shortly afterward.

We were recommended the Valentine's Day Four Course Menu that was leftover from the day before and it did NOT disappoint. Most of what we were looking at ordering anyway was on the menu. Everything came out properly, and we didnt feel rushed between courses, nor were we wondering where the food was.

Service was so great. She was attentive without being annoying, and very friendly. She helped us pick oysters and gave her recommendations for what to put on them.

Would dine again for sure!

I used to tell everyone that the best steak and seafood in the city was Vons. It definitely is not the quality it used to be (still good food but not in the top category) and is way over priced for what you get. The oyster special was good value, but everything else is overpriced.
