Lots of free parking! We can not reserve specific tables due to high demand but do take requests.
I’ve been here before and thought it was amazing. The quality of food was that of a high-end restaurant. This time however, I was very disappointed. The Brussels and tofu were awesome but I just could not get past the seasonal vegetables! And the plating. They served green peas!!! And cauliflower and carrots with little to no flavour despite being basically green in colour from ALL the herbs on them. No flavour at all! I couldn’t believe that a wonderful restaurant like the WAG would actually serve frozen green peas out of a bag on their menu. So gross! I could’ve made the entire dinner myself for way less. I was so sorry that we didn’t remember to bring our entertainment book coupon because it was that bad. My husband had the salmon special which was supposed to come with four prawns. The kitchen completely missed them and when he asked where they were, the server brought out only three prawns. He didn’t complain further. He also had the seasonal veg with peas. Mine was a stuffed chicken breast and the flavours were only so so. I am very hesitant to leave my money here again so we won’t be coming back anytime soon and if we do, we’ll be sure to bring our $16 off coupon!
Family in from out of town. Great food, service and they even saved a window table as per our request ! ❤️. We had a great night, thank you WAG for the awesome evening. Oh, and that Peach dessert the waiter recommended Divine!
Our server was awesome and not intrusive. She was always around but it never felt like she was in the way. Awesome food awesome service.
Always nice to come by and get some very good food . The music was great and the waitress was right on thru the night . Please thank Brent for me and tell him it was great to see him again. Back when possible for sure. Cheers
We heard the Tuesday special was good but we have to say it was fantastic
The service was very good
Food above expectations and we all left completely sated and satisfied
We will definitely return
We were served very efficiently and the server was friendly and recommended a very nice wine. It was our anniversary and we asked for a nice table and they were able to accommodate us. My only con would be that it was quite cool and drafty. Many diners kept their jackets on throughout their meal. We should have brought it to their attention but didn’t feeling that it is an older building and can’t be helped. Otherwise a very pleasant evening.
Good food and service - good menu - nice atmosphere
You cannot make a wrong choice from the menu
Excellent food, service and ambience
Used to be one of our favourite restaurants. 4 of us went for dinner and not one of us enjoyed it and we had 4 different dishes.
Are crab cakes supposed to be hot? Mine were barely warm. Shouldn't the foccacia bread be served before the entre? Many people were getting it during their meal. Food was just ok - no real flavour. Not good - as it should be for the price. Vegetables were hard. Service was just ok. Servers need more training on how to serve food, hold the dishes, fill water glasses, make eye contact and smile, etc. Our waitress was pleasant but we didn't see much of her as she worked mostly in a different section - many other servers for each thing.
The food was outstanding. Ordered the seafood penne and it was very tasty and generous with the seafood not to mention the decent pricing. The view of the water adds ambiance to the meal. The only negative is a lack of free parking but this is more of a White Rock city council issue.
First time here and I would definently go again, loved the food and service, love the heritage place and the vibe I got from it. Keep it up
The food was delicious, our server was friendly and attentive. It was just a bit too loud for our liking, probably because it was a Saturday, we will try it again on a weekday. My wife and I overall really enjoyed our time at the WAG.
We are regulars at the WAG and our last visit was disappointing. We decided to give it another go and so glad we did. We both decided to try something that we had not ordered off the menu before so we went with Lamb Shanks. Boy were we both happy we did! The meat fell off the bone and was so tender. The gravy was great as were the mashed potatoes and peas. Probably one of the best dinners we have had at the WAG. Great service from the staff who took over from Emily. Definitely gave us reason to continue dinning at the WAG.
Enjoyed our martinis and our salads. Bread and dipping oil was complimentary, but you need to ask for it. Excellent food quality. A nice view to the west from this 2nd story restaurant. Expect the noise level to be high as the dining area is full and the restaurant is very popular. Service was great, once we got into the loop after a 13 minute wait to get started.
We spent Valentine’s Day at the W.A.G. this year and it did not disappoint. Food was delicious, ambience was romantic and the service was great. Something happened in the kitchen and our meals took a little longer, our waiter offered us more free bread and made sure we were taken care of. We had the wonton wrapper tiger prawns as an appetizer, I had the stuffed chicken (always good), and my partner had the Steelhead which was very good! Overall we had a fantastic night there.
Excellent food and excellent service with excellent music!
Was a great experience. The sticky ribs were amazing and my dinner was perfect.
Was excellent as usual! Went for Valentines dinner, food was delicious, great service. Highly recommended.
Went with spouse for valentines. Food as always is very good the ambience perfect and the lady piano pianist setting the right mood. The only sour point was when our dinner arrived and the server cracking the pepper over our food refused when we asked if he can take our picture, said that it’s really busy right now. Never till then have we had experienced something like that. The couple next to us weren’t impressed as well. The time he spent telling us how precious his time was would have equaled the time he could have taken our picture. It is after all, Valentines. We didn’t complain but you sent me this email so here it is. Thank you.
Beautiful sunset on the water. Great food and excellent service.
Valentine’s Day lunchtime
Always a great experience. Great food and ambiance. Excellent service.
We have been going here for a number of years now and you always know you are going to get a great meal, great service at a great price.
Amazing as always
We had the Calamari to start and it was cooked to perfection. For the mains stuffed chicken and the hot pot. Will be back!
Smooth reservation process, liked how we are able to make a note regarding a special request. Great anniversary dinner, a small mix up with the added prawns on our dinner but WAG was quick to correct (and over compensate) food was cooked beautifully and the taste... yummm 😋
This restaurant is not handicapped friendly. Lots of stairs and no handicap washroom.
It was my wife’s 65th Birthday and we both ordered the Cajun Snapper. We both found multiple bones in the fish. As we are regular customers, we have never had this problem before. I called our waiter over who was the assistant manager (Keith?) and explained about the bones and said I was done. He took my plate away. He did come back and offer a slice of desert which we accepted as it was my wife’s birthday. Overall the dinner was not up to the usual WAG standard.
My wife and I have dined at the WAG several times over the last few years and I have to say that this occasion was our most satisfying. Our meal was great and the service was awesome. Kudos to the staff.
We love coming to the WAG. The ambience is very inviting and cozy. Love the dark wood, low lights and candles. The tables are spaced so the noise level is low and with the subtle music in the background, it is perfect for a romantic dinner for two or for a group. Wait staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the food preparation. Our meals on Monday were part of a dinner special and offered choices of a three course dinner. Everything was very tasty: salads were well chilled, mains were hot, desserts fresh and delicious! Good value here. We like to call the WAG our local ‘go to’ spot. Great dining experience. See you soon!
My fiancé and I love Washington Avenue Grill! The food is always incredibly delicious and the service is excellent!! Every special occasion that arises...WAG is always the first place we suggest!!
Good service, delish food. A a bit loud when the place gets full; tables are cramped to fit in a room. All in all, it was a good experience to dine here. Will recommend to friends and family
We had 6 adults at our table and it was very squishy once all of our food started arriving (I had to just hold my plate at one point as there was no where for it to go on the table), so a little more space would’ve made it a perfect experience. However we were very satisfied with the food and service.
It was my birthday dinner with my boyfriend. We throughly enjoyed our time at the Restaurant. The food was delicious and the wine selection was great. The music was very nice not to loud. I enjoyed the Saxaphone player he was awesome. The service was excellent too. I'd recommend the WAG to anybody who wants a great dinner and evening out
We have dined at Washington grill quite few times and always loved the food experience, service and ambience.
We did have a choice of other restaurants however since was a special outing we felt it was a good place to celebrate our friend birthday.
When we made reservation we ask if possible a window table knowing very well the request couldn’t be confirmed, upon arrival the bartender took us to the table along the entrance not far from the stage, the dining was quite busy so we were okay with that, however would have been nice to acknowledge our request.
Menu were brought in quickly and soon after we were served water and we order wine, after that we never sow our waitress until my friend complain about taking so long for our order, when the waitress arrived at our table, there was no apologies kind of well here I’m!!
The food was great however the service and attentiveness wasn’t there, wanted to get more ciabatta bread however no one insight,
Even when We ask for the bill several time finally arrived and once again we waited quite long time and never anyone came back to the table, I had to get up and look for the waitress to pay the bill, I did express my disappointment on her service, even so she apologized our friends were not happy and our evening was spoiled.
Being a server it’s not an easy task, and every client is different,
We didn’t ask for any special request, we just wanted to experience a nice evening out, perhaps next time let your party know you are either busy or perhaps new on the job but please do not take things for granted and passive, we do not appreciate dining out and having unpleasant service.
Ordered beef short rib but seemed as though the meat was microwaved before being served. Crazy hot and steaming from inside but cooler on outside. Disappointed!
We had the Taste of White Rock at $35/person. Salad and dessert were basic but quite good. A bit disappointed wit the short ribs - not up to their normal standard. All in all, still an enjoyable meal and ambiance.
Great experience. At lunch 2 diners were vegan & after calling ahead were totally happy with their menu choices, my spouse loved her salad & my mussels were outstanding.
The ambience and decor was wonderful, blown away by the entry foyer with a hanging motorcycle and fantastic art work adorning the walls, the eclectic decor was I felt spectacular leading to the 2nd floor dining area & bar overlooking Semiahmoo Bay. A total 5 star experience.
