Another exceptional experience at Waterfront Wines! This place is a gem!
Our favorite local restaurant. Always awesome food and outstanding service.
This is my third time at Waterfront and the food never does dissapoint. It's always creative, and delicious. I however was disappointed with the overall experience on my last visit. We reserved a table a week in advance and were placed by the bathroom exit when there were nicer tables available. Our server seemed short, and non-conversational- then handed us off at the end of the evening without telling us she was leaving. For the price I just feel like it should have been a superb experience from start to finish and that wasn't the case this time, unfortunately.
Had a reservation for a busy Friday night at 5:30 p.m. Were seated at a corner table, from where the people-watching was great. The server was excellent, patient and friendly, and I'm sorry I did not get her name. She had to recite an endless list of ingredients in the dishes, quite a feat. When it came to dessert, we thought she had actually described three different offerings, not the one fussy, precious circus that had all of them in it. Anyway, the "chicken duo" was very good, although with at least three sauces and maybe too many vegetables in a sort of ratatouille a bit too much in the way of fussed-over ingredients. The mussels were outstanding and a good value, a dish that should be shared (and they certainly give you enough bread to do so). The corn soup was excellent. The ricotta gnudi didn't suffer from the sort of overdoing that plagued the other dishes a little, it was simply very good. The latter dish is hard to pull off and thus rarely seen. The ricotta blobs themselves were mostly rubbery, flavorless ghosts, but with the sauces and the vegetables they had a certain charm. Try this out, I'm not sure it's a total success but very creative, as are the other dishes we had. Some items are quite expensive, others reasonable. The music selection is mostly annoying pop garbage, but when the place gets full, you don't hear it much anymore.
We hadn't been to Kelowna in four years, but knew our first stop for a meal had to be at Waterfront Wines. We'd wondered if the quality would be as high as we'd remembered, and indeed it was. Exceptional food (do not miss the pot of fois gras for the appetizer), great service, and very nice wines by the glass. It's a little on the loud side, but tables that do not face the kitchen are more quiet. Of course, if you're further from the action, you don't get to watch those chef wizards at work.
The best advice one can give about Waterfront Wines? Just go, and wait to be amazed.
We came for dinner to celebrate a birthday. This restaurant has a nice ambiance and the food was great! I found the noise a little loud however it was to be expected on a busy Saturday evening. The food made up for it!
This was our second time to Waterfront Wines. It has expanded since our last visit and was very busy. Reservations are a must even if you want to sit at the bar. The wine offerings, specialty cocktails and food are selected and prepared with the utmost thoughtfulness.
This will be our "go to" place next time we're in Kelowna
Outstanding service and terrific food and we are very picky about both of these.
Exactly what we wanted. A romantic, quiet parents night out.
Beautifully executed dishes. Superb quality ingredients.
Will definitely be returning with friends.
Excellent main course of salmon. The appetizer of fried chicken was too salty. Friendly service and ample choice of wines.
Excellent service and food was delicious!!! Accommodated food sensitivities and made it a perfect birthday- thank you!
I took my fiancee to Waterfront Wines for her birthday and it was stupendous. The fives stars are well deserved. Our waitress Carmen was inviting and full of all the necessary information, but didn't bother us too much so we could actually have a conversation without getting interrupted by the "how did that bite taste" inquiries. We chose the Thai Crispy Pork Belly and Lamb Tartar for starters and the Lamb Duo and Beef Duo for mains. They were all delicious and cooked appropriately. I never felt like I was eating something that a chef just through on a plate. All of the meals were as beautiful as they were tasty. The ambiance is that of an intimate dining locale. By the time we left, the conversation level was loud, but not uncomfortable, and it never hindered our discussion. The price, as expected after such a terrific evening, was high, but very worth it. Though I definitely can't eat at Waterfront Wines every day, I will endeavor to make it our special spot to share a memorable evening.
Small area, very noisy and loud, hard to have a conversation. Great service and good flavours in the meals, but nothing to write home about.
The food was excellent as was the wine selection. The portions were generous. As a visitor I look for places the locals love and this was certainly one of them. A great experience.
The atmosphere is good and our server was amazing! The food and drinks were outstanding. Everything was cooked perfectly. Highly recommend.
My sister and I ate at Waterfront Wines last night. We were looking for a light meal so we shared three Appetizers. The Sidestripe Shrimp Risotto, the Potted Foie Gras and the Wise Earth Green Salad. All three were outstanding. The best meal we have had in Kelowna this year. The Gin Martinis were made just like we requested them (very dry!) and they also have a comprehensive wine list. This is the fifth year in a row that we have visited Kelowna and each year we have eaten at Waterfront but they outdid themselves this year. The service was also great. James was knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. We will be back!
Great food, but if you’re hungry it’s definitely a little pricey to eat enough until you’re full. Great selection of wines if you buy a bottle, and a decent selection by the glass. The inside seems a little cramped but we asked to sit on the patio and it was much nicer. Be aware if you’re on a budget this is not the place to go. You have to be willing to drop some money if you want to do a bottle of wine with an appetizer, 2 entrees and dessert. Overall really great tasting food, wonderful and attentive service, and nice ambiance on the patio.
The fois gras was amazing, the rest was very good. the dining room was small with small tables and chairs, so ambiance was ok, but not great. would definitely go again though!
I love Waterfront Wines! It really is in the top 3 restaurants to dine in Kelowna for a reason. The food is superb, the service is top notch and their wine list is fab! Mark Filatow is a genius in the kitchen and it shines through in all his great dishes. Definitely recommend for foodies!
Amazing service, and beautiful dishes. We ate at the bar and loved interacting with the staff. Will definitely come back!
Great food, service, and setting. I would definitely go again
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. Server very friendly and knowledgeable. Great selection of food which was so fun to try something different.
There’s really not much to say. Phenomenal as always... although missing a few of my favourites from the menu... the foie gras is still there and it’s amazing!!!
A Must Dining Experience
Block One Restaurant was the highlight of our dining experience in Kelowna. The food preparation and presentations were amazing. We started with the Wood-Fired Wild Scallops and they were the best Scallops I have had. Not only were they beautifully presented but they were fresh and perfectly prepared. We then had the Haida Gwaii Halibut with Israel couscous, swiss chard, golden beets and apricot and bacon gastrique. It was an amazing dish as all the components of the dish complimented each other. Again it was beautifully presented and prepared. We finished with the Meyer Lemon and Caramelized White Chocolate Tart and it was a winner. If you like lemon desserts then you have to try this one. Their wine list is extensive. They have a Happy Hour as well as a complimentary shuttle from the Delta Grand Hotel twice a day from Monday to Thursday. Another plus is the staff. The staff is friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Thanks to their Executive Chef Kai Koroll for creating and executing such amazing dishes. We had a wonderful dining experience and look forward to our next visit to Block One.
Great place, super cute with super delicious dishes!!!! Would for sure go back, unreal
Our first visit to Waterfront wines and it is the beginning of many. All
Four of us at the table loved every bite of our food. The wine was great. Our server was awesome. Knowledgable, friendly, efficient and full of energy. Her recommendations were perfect and we were finished in time to get to the opera! Thank you for a great night and experience. I will highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. And I do appreciate the 19plus rule. It makes date night so much better!
Service was excellent and food delish. Great little spot in Kelowna.
The menu was varied, the food quality good and service very efficient polite and informative. We didnt feel the dining area was well laid out, and the interior very basic. So no real atmosphere or privacy as very close to neighbouring diners.
I've been to a lot of other hyped up places in OK, but this one wins every time I return. They've really settled into a good rhythym, and the food is tough to beat. Each ingredient stands out and fits together with the others harmoniously. Top notch.
Waterfront wines is our all time favorite restaurant to dine in Kelowna. My husband and I have been going there for many years and we have never had a bad experience. The service is exceptional and the food is so so delicious. Pretty sure we have tried everything. If you go, you HAVE to get the potted foie gras. Heaven in a dish. Great place for a date night, quiet patio and restaurant.
The food was amazing and all ingredients were from local sources. Service was amazing and friendly. Will definitely visit again,
My first time there although I’ve lived in Kelowna for over 20 years. The food - I had the Prawn risotto- was probably one of the finest meals I’ve ever had. Simply delicious. Will certainly be back.
We were out for a girls night dinner for 3 and Waterfront was the perfect place!! The food was amazing, the atmosphere was perfect and our server was outstanding!! We enjoyed every minute of our experience. From mouth watering meals to the perfect glass of wine and of course desert to finish it off. We completely lost track of time, we enjoyed ourselves so much!! We will definitely go back next time we are in Kelowna!!
We are regulars. This visit was probably one of the most disappointing experiences. We always celebrate at Waterfront. I felt the service was lacking. The food was great as always. Server needed more training on specials and time management. $400 dinner for a family birthday for four people could have been better.
This is my favourite place to eat in kelowna - hands down.
Although the patio is not "waterfront" as I anticipated, the food really made up for it. While few menu choices, the food we had was delicious and flavourful. Would recommend this place for a date night in Kelowna.
Easily the best restaurant in the Interior of BC. Chef Mark Filatow is unmatched in his delicious food and perfect flavour combinations. There is nothing that comes close to his food.
we were seated inside near the open kitchen and meat fridge. it’s nicely tucked away from noise on the other side of the restaurant. our server was awesome... unfortunately i forgot his name. it’s a relatively small menu but their quality and flair makes up for it. everything on their charcuterie plate (added black truffle gouda cheese) was excellent. normally the olives and pickles are overly salty or sour but surprisingly theirs had the perfect balance. duck breast and halibut dishes were cooked to perfection. vanilla angel cake with peppercorn ice cream was odd but delicious!
Best Halibut I have ever had. Will definitely go back again.
Everything was great. No complaints whatsoever
