Waterfront is a small 50 seat Restaurant and Wine Bar. We have just begun our eleventh year of business and have established a strong following for the creations of Chef and Sommelier Mark Filatow. Chef Filatow exudes a passion for his art that is brought to new heights through marriages with the exclusive selections found on our wine list.
Our menu specializes in a mixture of Tapas-style items and Main Courses, with the focus on offering our guests as wide a variety of flavors as possible.

Food was mediocre at best (fish cooked the point of being dry, vegetable raw). Ambience was also lacking (looked Fraser’s apartment from the 90s sitcom). Service and wine list were above average. Not worth the price point despite the reputation for being one of Kelowna’s top eateries.
Great ambience, good choice of wines and very good meal. Server was very patient as our guest was very late and then only wanted to drink, not eat. We appreciated that we were still all made to feel very welcome. Any time we find ourselves in Kelowna, this is the place to eat.
We’ve just found our new go-to place for special occasions. Decor was a interesting blend of concrete, metal and natural woods. Service was a perfect blend of warmth and knowledge. Food was perfect in presentation and depth of flavors. This is a boisterous place ( lots of people enjoying conversation) so for a little more intimate evening we reserve for after 7:30.
The only disappointment was the name of restaurant is misleading, it several blocks from waterfront with no view of the lake.
The food is farm to table in style and is prepared in an open kitchen by chefs who work quietly and efficiently. Everything is attractively plated and robustly flavourful. We are going back on Sunday. Try the blueberry hand pies. Yummy
We went as a family for my mom’s 60th birthday. The food was incredible, the service was fantastic and overall, just a wonderful experience! I have never been to this restaurant and been disappointed! The flavors in the foods are so thoughtfully planned and prepared, and the presentation is lovely. Waterfront Wines, you are number one in my heart!
Food - Amazing
Wine - Amazing
Overall - Amazing
A very enjoyable evening dining with guests. The food was excellent as usual. The wine list had many enjoyable wines that were also good value. We thoroughly enjoyed our server, Lindsey.
Ate outside on a beautiful evening. Great service and great food. Too bad it's right on a busy street. That being said, it's a great place to dine.
Had the feature steak. Was outstanding. Scallops appetizer and the blueberry pie desert
Great service, amazing food. Made with care.
Went here at the recommendation of a tour guide, and wow are we happy we did!! Excellent food, excellent service! My duck and my wife's steak were some of the best prepared we've had from anywhere. The quality of everything on the plate was spot-on, not just the meat. Very good value-for-money. Will definitely be going back.
It was an excellent evening. Our party of three had the duck, the beef and the pasta and all three dishes were simply amazing! The service was excellent and we had a wonderful evening.
Our first negative experience at this restaurant due to a rude hostess. We came at the reservation time, gave our name. She couldn’t seem to find it in spite of Open Table reconfirming it to us in an email hours before. She said “I’ll try and find you a table”. I thought “try and find a table” after I had made the reservation several days ago? Really? So she brings us to a table between two loud parties. We say can we sit over here, pointing to a quieter table? She looks annoyed, says “well ok”. We sit down. She comes back a few minutes later and says “you’ll need to move as that table is reserved for some VIP guests. Really? So now what are we to feel like - the Very Unimportant guests? We briefly discuss maybe going somewhere else. The hostess shrugs like, ok, whatever. The rudeness and coldness of our “welcome” to the restaurant hangs over the dinner. We’ve moved on and not likely to visit here again.
I was overwhelmingly impressed with this restaurant. Everything was so perfect. The staff were friendly, the service was impeccable, the food was beyond my expectations. I can not wait to go back for another special occasion.
Food and service were fabulous. It’s loud due to open kitchen and small space. Make a reservation!
This is the second time I've been at Waterfront Wines and it is a must if you are visiting Kelowna. My friend and I shared the Oyster on the Half Shell Appetizer with two dozen West Coast and East Coast Oysters with three different sauces. Amazingly tasty and fresh with the Culmina Gruner Veltliner from Oliver.
We also shared two mains, the ROASTED YARROW MEADOWS DUCK BREAST, probably the best I've ever had, and the AN ROASTED STEELHEAD TROUT & GRILLED OCTOPUS. Again, the proteins were great but so was the variety of veges and carbohydrates.
Desserts were also first class visually and on your palate:CRÈME BRÛLÉE
Organic Morello Cherry, Shortbread Cookie and ITALIAN FLOURLESS HAZELNUT CAKE
Hazelnut Gelato, Chocolate Pastry Cream, Blackberry Compote.
Our server was very professional, attentive, knowledgable, with a sense of humour. Her assistant was also very capable.
Overall, a feast to remember! Bravo, Waterfront Wines. I shall return!
What a great little place! It was the perfect spot to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was amazing and the service was excellent
My go to restaurant when I’m Kelowna. Compliments to the chef. My leftovers (because portion size is awesome) were even better than my dinner the night before.
If you ever get the chance to have their celeriac soup - the bomb!!!
Wine selection is great, staff phenomenal. Try a cocktail to start!!
Excellent as always
Food was exceptional and the staff made you feel welcome and not rushed. It was a special dining experience
Always a pleasure to dine here. Excellent food and exceptional service!
Delicious food, and really nice service.
We will be coming back every chance we get.
My husband had the flank steak that he said was excellent. I had 2 appetizers, a salad and scallop risotto which were very good. We enjoyed a good glass of wine or a beer. The waitress must have heard my husband talk about my birthday was near and brought us a delicious chocolate and strawberry ice cream dessert. What a surprise.
Waterfront has always been our go to for great food/ wine selection and atmosphere to have a cozy conversation at the table. This time I was miffed for the following reasons:
- after a substanstial dinner with appetizers, entrees and 2 bottles of wine between 4 guests.. we were happy to settle and continue our conversation. We did not order coffee or dessert at this time. We were asked then to finish up as there was another seating waiting! We had booked our time to celebrate our friend’s birthday. We felt if we had continued with coffee and dessert this would not have happened to us! We noticed other table before us were able to settle and enjoy their conversation.
- we had 3 waitress attend to our table throughout the evening. You would think this would of given us attentive service. In fact it was confusing and disjointed! When we were served our entrees we were not asked if we wanted to pair wine. As our entrees sat In front of us we had to scramble for a wine option. We asked a server, she gave 2 selections and then walked off.. another server handed us the wine menu and walked off!!! At this point we felt flustered as our food was getting cold. We finally
enjoyed a tantalus reisling half way through eating our entree!
Perhaps this feedback can provide a learning moment for your team.
Exceptional! Deeply knowledgeable server in complement to the creative and entertaining menu selections. Daily market additions, in this case fresh fiddleheads and lingcod, culminated in an inventive and authentic experience.
Wonderful food... amazing people! Truly a perfect evening out!
Enthusiastic and attentive staff, delicious and inventive food, what's not to love?
Best meal I've ever had and paid less for our party of four than I'd expect to on a date. Blows the competition out of the water, in my experience.
Delicious food with an impressive selection of local wines - and very knowledgeable staff who can make food and wine pairing recommendations. Top restaurant in Kelowna. Visited two nights in a row - the first we sat at the bar for wine and tapas. The second we reserved ahead and had a proper meal. Both experiences were excellent.
Great staff and amazing food.
Food was amazing. Great service. Great booze selection.
Was a great meal! Nice tapas selection. Flavors very well executed! We will be back.
Excellent, just excellent. The dinner was probably the best fine dining experience we have enjoyed in the last 3 years (seriously). Good sized portions but not too big. We had the mussels (shared them). Cooked perfectly. And both of us enjoyed the lamb. Tender succulent gorgeous sauces and a lovely relish on the side. The roasted vegetables were very good. And dessert was so tasty....I never order dessert.
Shane was an excellent waiter. Gave us good suggestions, attentive but not “in your face”.
We will be back!
We had an excellent evening. The food was delicious. My son is a chef. He runs a restaurant. So knows the business. He was impressed as we were. I hope someone invites us to dine with you again.
As always, we were treated royally, our dinners were scrumptious, an excellent evening all around. Thank you again for a wonderful meal. If you haven't tried their Angus flat iron steak, you must, it's the best!! Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the wine, friendly and prompt.
Fantastic food! Only disappointment was that the server forgot our oysters so we got them with our main courses. Otherwise, it was amazing as always.
Everything about this restaurant was amazing! We came to Kelowna for my birthday and decided to go here for my birthday dinner. The service and food were outstanding!! Will definitely be back on our next visit to Kelowna.
Easily our favourite restaurant in the Okanagan. The space is cozy, the service (especially Genevieve + Shar) is amazing, they have an eclectic local wine list and the food is always to die for.
