For those keen to observe ‘behind the scenes’ action and experience West from a unique perspective, the two ‘chef's tables’ can be found directly adjacent to the presentation kitchen. One of the highlights of the dining room is a temperature-controlled wall of wine, and under it, the long cherry wood bar that gracefully anchors the conversation—where martinis and cocktails are composed of fresh herbs, juices and creative infusions.

A very good restaurants for late night dinner and drinks. They offer a large selection of wine lists.
Great 2019 Dine Out Menu
thank you for the great experience. we were back in the evening for cocktails too and the staff were very accomodating.
With an early reservation, a pre-theatre menu accompanied the regular menu for those who have time constraints. We didn’t, so our foursome dined at a leisurely pace. Staff were attentive and well versed on ingredients in each dish. The courses were perfectly paced and the wine list is excellent.
Impeccable service, good portions and a classy place to dine. Will definitely be back!
Friendly welcome at the door set the tone. We went for the taster menu with wine pairing. The food was excellent, the wine was good and the service was friendly. Nice touches like wishing ‘happy birthday’ was welcome and appreciated. No sign of pretentious atmosphere often found in other restaurants. We really enjoyed it.
New Years Eve. 4 Course set dinner and it was amazing from the beet salad, poached lobster and my steak. Everything was perfect. No complaints from hubby either. We had the chefs table which we love so it was a amazing evening. Great way to end the year
There is nothing bad to say. Service, food, drinks all were A1. We were there for brunch and would return.
Had the Christmas Eve 3-Course. Desserts were lacking, while other courses were presented very well and delicate in taste.
Went for the Christmas Eve dinner. 3 course menu very disappointed for the food. Beef Tatar and Octupus for appertizer was fair. But main course, the lamb was not chewy and tasty enough,.fish was also too salty. Desserts were all grocery store level. Will never come back.
Took a friend for her Birthday Lunch and noted via options on open table that one patron- me has an egg allergy and my friend would be celebrating her birthday . The chef was considerate enough to make me a dessert off menu that i was able to enjoy it was delicious as was the rest of the meal. Service was excellent. A big thank you to the entire staff for making my friends birthday memorable.
Great spot for a festive brunch.
This was by far one of the best service experiences I've had. The food was fantastic and their cocktail and wine list are great as well!
Excellent food and service.
Excellent food and service. We were a group of seven and ordered
from the fixed price menu--not rushed. All in all an enjoyable evening.
Very fancy and elegant . Perfect for dating.xbdjdhdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjdjjdnd
First time at this restaurant. The food was very good but the portion was not worth the price. The staff were wonderful and welcoming. I was hungry when I left. I had the French toast.
It is a bit pricey, but I guess because of its location on South Granville. It is right opposite the Stanley Theatre and close to downtown. The main dishes are on the small portion side and not much veggie. You definitely need an appy or a side dish (if you just have a main course) or eat a lot bread. My friend had the SET dinner with a few courses at $100++, but the portion of each course was very small again. If you are hungry, don't eat there. It's really a place for special occasions or to impress someone. My bone-in pork chop was really nicely cooked to the correct done-ness. I had an appy Risotto to accompany the pork, otherwise just the pork chop was not enough even for a small woman like me. Service was good enough, but the evening we were there, there was not enough staff. This was my second time dining there, I personally like to eat there !
A ladies lunch before the Christmas crazies. Had am all round fabulous time together in West.
Busy, great menu, and the feeling of being out at a nice place.
We started with scallops and oysters, followed by tenderloin and sable fish, all four dishes excellent.
Was a little off put by not receiving an acknowledgement of our wait past our reservation for our table.
Small things can make a big difference in the evening.
Great server and tasting menu was excellent. Lamb shank was sublime.
Went to celebrate my fathers milestone birthday. Good and service were top notch. My wife says we just found our new favourite restaurant!
Great food, great service. The new pastry chef couldn’t get the panna cotta to come together, which seems odd for a restaurant of this calibre, so I had to choose something else. But then they provided the desserts for free as a make up. Ergo good service.
Great food. Had not been there in a while- still stands the test of time. My out of town foodie guests loved it.
Everything was as good as it gets however it is expensive which makes it a good place for a special occasion. There is often a prix fixe menu which makes it a little more affordable without sacrificing any quality. And our server Monica was perhaps the best i have ever encountered
Fantastic brunch! Great oysters, very fresh with horseradish, lemon and red wine mignonette.
Excellent eggs benedict which can be served soft, medium or hard boiled. We also had the French toat and the brandade as well as the tartare.
All of the items were excellent.
Our server was discreet. The service was excellent. The restaurant has an open kitchen concept and offers a great wine list for the connaisseur.
Absolutely delicious and on pointe dishes. Ambiance and decor is dated and geared towards an older crowd but food was impeccable so I’ll be going back for sure.
Excellent service and food. Overall great first time experience!
Vegetarian tasting menu good but the ravioli is bit tough
Meh. Service was stellar! Everything else was mediocre. Menu was boring. My lobster app was over cooked. Onion soup was blah. Duck was chewy and undercooked. Was supposed to be medium, hardly even medium rare. Husband thought the gremolata on his lamb tasted like dirt. Sad cider selection.
Would never go back or recommend. Waited years to eat here only to be disappointed.
My wife’s birthday.
Lovely spot to bring your significant other or any special occasion. I guarantee you won't be disappointed :)
As always, West encapsulates everything we consider to be the best of West Coast dining. Their standards are never compromised - service, menus and wine list are 5 star perfection! Thank you again!
We took our elderly parents and enjoyed a classy dinner! Great service and excellent food!
We had a lovely wedding anniversary brunch.
West is reliably awesome for both food and cocktails.
We loved the fact that they wrote a card for our anniversary and personalized our dessert too! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable! Totally recommend it xx
Awesome experience as usual. Will be back in a few weeks for the Christmas dinner get-together :)
Attentive service, delicious meal.
Service was not good as I thought it would be. But I feel it was lack of organization when there was influx of people during the brunch period.
