Great food, great service, and great place to spend our anniversary.
The helpings were tiny and over priced, I guess they are doing the whole hoity toity fine dining thing- but if that is the case, then it should be really delicious, and unfortunately it was average at best.
If I could give this place 6 stars out of 5, I would. Wildebeest provided the best food and combination of flavors that I experienced throughout my entire time in Vancouver. The service was impeccable, as they literally anticipated our needs. The ambiance was romantic and intimate. Will be visiting again anytime we are here!
After having the wonderful brunch a few times we decided to come for a special dinner. There are so many places I enjoy the food more and the price is lower - we will not be back. At these prices and the VERY tiny size of the sharing plates I was expecting to be blown away but no. And really the plates are too small. Service always great here. Ambiance very pretty but bright at dinner not candlelit.
This is a go to spot every time we come to Vancouver...First time to try happy hour menu. Thumbs up
Brunch Benedict was not very hot - poached eggs seemed pre-cooked.
Great service and food!
Some of the foods I thought is spicy but actually not so spicy at all. Foods are shared unfortunated but overall best of the best, I would like to recommended to my friends.
We went to Wildebeest before a concert. We had great cocktails, fantastic dinner and we were treated well by the excellent staff. What else could you ask for! It's great.
we arrived 10 min early but was seated at the time of our booking. servers were friendly and tentative.
My Partner and I went for a pre-theatre brunch and thoroughly enjoyed the Croque Madame and the Crab Benedict on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Portion size was decent, food was light, service was very friendly. Ambience good - not silent but a nice buzz in the restaurant. The only thing I'd mention that it was a bit cold...there was a slight draft wind.
I'd come back again.
We had a great time, thank you. We had 2 bison, scallop, rigatoni and shared a bread pudding in the end. All of it was super. You have a festive ambience and great service
Fabulous creative food and excellent service make this a place we’ll come back to again and again. Between 4 of us we tried 9 different dishes and every one was spot on with big flavours and perfect seasoning. Our waitress was so helpful, friendly and funny and it appeared the other staff were as wonderful as her too.
We did the Omakase tasting and it was fantastic. So many delicious flavors! It covered almost the whole menu. Our server was fantastic - attentive, quick on her feet, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. Would highly recommend.
Excellent experience overall. The breakfast donuts were great, the flat iron steak was tender and delicious, and the staff were great. Really enjoyed our experience and would definitely go back!
Exceptionally rude host.
Just a tip: if they're sending you to basement /downstairs , Pick another restaurant .
You're paying for the vibe ambience experience...
We were brought to sit at a long table with bar stools like in a pub away from the crowd.
Dishes selection : needs more better choices
Portion : Large dish is portioned like appies.
Esp the bison 3 thin slices & 1/2cup of mash potato is $38
The hokkaido scallop for 2 pcs scallop really for $29 ( not a wow dish tastewise )
The wagyu rigatoni. Decent size. Taste good but dont expect decent amount of mince wagyu $29
Finally the red gurnard . Fish ( too salty for my taste) $36
Appies beef carpaccio is very goood.
Food presentation : very pleasant in the eye
Server was good and attentive. Shes the only one youd see apart from my 3 gf in the basement : (
We were there on a Saturday night to celebrate bday.
We are here for brunch last year after doing the Seawheeze half marathon and it was so fun and the food was amazing! This year it seemed a little less energetic. The food and service was still good, but the best part of my meal was the Mimosa made with fresh squeezed oj. I had the eggs benedict special which the sever sold like it was going to be the best ever, but it was just ok. The bacon that was supposed to have been cured for 4 days was lacking in flavor. I should have gone with my gut and get the crab Benny. Oh well... Maybe next year. I will still go back. 👍🏼
Excellent food, highly recommend the Omakase serving style for an experience catered by the chef and your personal tastes. Only small issue was it was a bit noisy with the conversation level but it was a Friday night at 8:00 so I can’t complain. Definitely would recommend anyone to eat here.
The food is different from your normal fare so we tried the "Trust me", where they bring you tapas of sorts from across their menu. The food was absolutely amazing.
I had a great time at Wildebeest: from the food to the drinks, everything was perfect including the service. Well worth the price!
We wanted to love our experiences at Wildebeest. The evening started out quite well with Kingsley at the bar. Unfortunately, once seated for dinner the pacing of the food really let the kitchen down. The food was all delicious, but there was a huge lag between dishes and it felt extremely labored. We didn’t stay for dessert as we just couldn’t sit any longer.
Great place a date night or anniversary.
The over all experience was acceptable. The small plates were delicious as were the sides. The service was very good server's we're very knowledgeable. The entrées were over seasoned. The scallops were so salty that without the accompaniments they would have been inedible. Would go back for drinks and share plates.
The food was average but the service was horrible. We asked our server to bring us more ketchup as we only got one small one to share among the 3 of us and she said that normal people only need to share one... like wtf...that is so rude for someone to say.... our server was the one with the arm injury
Dope vibes, swag waiter. Must go.
Ate with gusto. It was so hard to choose what to order. It all looked so good. A delightful meal.
Lovely as usual 😊
Excellent and consistent food, attentive service.
We did omakase and it was very good, and reasonably priced. Service was kind of uneven, but food was delicious.
I highly recommend the omakase option. We had a wonderful variety of food come across our table with some amazing flavor.
Great food, great service, great cocktails. Fun atmosphere! The Omakase was like an amusement ride, totally fun and unexpected, and didn’t disappoint. An adventurous ride! Looking forward to experiencing it again.
Everything good except portions, small and expensive. No bang for your buck. Limited menu, we ate a bunch of appies and a main dish "salmon " with brocollini, portion of the salmon was smaller than average places. Will not be back. Can get better food elsewheres for prices they charge. Parking available around the area , meter parking but not all that safe around that area. Lock up properly and do not leave valuables in your car.
Made my birthday extra special with great service and delicious food!
Disappointing as had come recommended by friends. Much more for the younger generation. Felt much too old to be there.
Fairly small portions and a bit pricey overall (ended up spending min $75 pp for a party of 5). With the exception of the lasagna, the food was delicious. It is definitely a place for foodies. We had a great time and would return for another special occasion.
Prix Fixe really enjoyed meal. Great experience!
This restaurant would be very enjoyable for the right people.
I, unfortunately, was not as diligent as I should have been when choosing a place for my 10 year wedding anniversary...but I would certainly return with my mates for a great meal and good drinks.
A fairly noisy establishment but the staff could not have been better.
Awesome place, make sure to do the marrow luge and ask about there natural wines, they dont have many but they had a nice pet nat and long skin fermented rose that were delicious!
Meat place. Simply amazing.
This OpenTable app doesn’t do paste function so, that’s it.
