Great experience & flavours of food are amazing. Will be coming back for sure
WIldebeest has been a must stop for the past four years we have been coming to Vancouver. The food, service has always been great and has never disappointed. We were accompanied by four friends that had never been and they thanked me for recommending the restaurant. AND, I did not buy their meal:)
With the new menu (possibly new chef?) I wasn't terribly impressed. Poached eggs were perfect, good quality ingredients but yet something seemed lacking. My corned beef hash was overly salty 😟
We loved our server Micheal. He was really friendly and knowledgeable as well as made us feel welcome and cared for. We did the set menu which was a bit of a splurge but was totally worth it. They listen to your dietary restrictions and your favorite flavors and then craft a bunch of different plates that you will love and be excited to try. The rest of the staff was really lovely as well. The drinks were amazing (we had a few glasses of wine, a cocktail, and a glass of bubbly). Thank you so much for an amazing experience. We will definitely come back next time we are in Vancouver for the weekend!
As always this restaurant did not disappoint, the dishes are extraordinary! Service was excellent-super friendly and attentive! It was so delicious-a flavour journey on each plate! Highly recommend this place-our favorite restaurant in Vanvouver!
We had an amazing evening celebrating my husbands Birthday. Will definitely come back again.
Food and service were excellent. Really like how the server took extra time to entertain my daughter.
The food was very good; however, portions were too small. We purchased four dishes (two appetizers and two main courses) and were still so hungry after we went for a second dinner elsewhere.
Very good taste
Have been to Wildebeest twice and each visit has been great.
Great night out
A unique experience if you want to try abnormal cuisine.
It’s best to start with the service, because our server Liam was beyond exceptional, an absolute gem of wit, knowledge, pizzazz, eager, and a surprise of a conversationalist. Perhaps the reason to visit.
The lamb loin was a tad more fatty than anticipated, beet salad was perfect, and the sumptuous must try fried chicken, need 2 servings
Sure, parking was a challenge in that part of town, but worth the visit.
Oh, the music, was bomb - perfect volume level and playlist
Unique. Very friendly and committed to local ingredients. Food was excellent.
Whenever you start an evening with the hostess saying we need this table by x time, it can put the pressure on you to get going and order, drink, and be merry. Well, our first visit to Canada, Vancouver, we did some research and were pleasantly surprised by Wildebeest. Our server was polite, (nice mustache !) and explained the menu. My husband really had wanted the chef to prepare a mushroom dish, but, being the amazing chef he is, steered him to a mushroom ravioli dish that was just soooo tasty, oozing with this amazing cheese! We started with the smoked olives and burrata tomato salad. Great wine pairing! Thank you for an amazing evening, we enjoyed it all!
Awesome meal and service. Bottomlesss mimosas are a win!
Way over priced for mediocre food. $14 for 4 tomato slices? $14 for a tiny plate of under cooked string beans with sauce that tasted like cheap store bought teriyaki sauce. Do yourself a favour and head to Chambar instead.
I wish I could give this restaurant the 5 stars it surely deserves most nights, but unfortunately even though we had a reservation for 8:00pm, we didn’t get seated until almost 9:00pm.
I understand that sometimes these things are out of staff’s control, but I feel that waiting anything over 20 minutes for a table when you have a reservation completely defeats the point of making one.
The food and drinks were so good it won’t sway us from coming back though!
Husbands birthday- really great innovative food, interesting cocktails and funky atmosphere.
We loved the chefs choice menu and sampling the wines selected to go with each course. A wonderful culinary experience and exemplary service. Thoroughly recommend
Very unique and tasty menu, loved the decor. Loved the smoked olives even more!! Main courses are small-ish portions, which is fine, just something to note. Friendly staff, would definitely recommend and I will be going back!
attentive staff and amazing atmosphere—plus a truly delicious brunch! can’t wait to bring more friends for bottomless mimosas!
Wildebeest is simply the carnivore's dream, the best restaurant in Vancouver!
Horrible food , never go back there ever again , order a meat plater to share , very small portion , poor quality of food and the bread felt like 10 days old , we paid and left
Sat at the bar and had great service and conversations with bartenders. The food was fantastic.
We did the omikase. They asked for a price range and any requests. It surpassed our expectations. Good wine selection. The smoked olives are a incredible!
Incredible service, quality of ingredients, and unique menu offering. One of the best tasting menus I have ever had. The chefs took great care of my dietary restrictions as well.
Excellent food with a emphasis on local sourcing and unconventional proteins (i.e. game meats)
Fantastic every time I’ve been. Cannot wait to go back!
Our first visit to Vancouver from Los Angeles. Could not have encountered a better dinner experience. Excellent bartender. Anyone who knows how to make a Horseradish Sour - and it tastes great - that's a quality bartender. Our server (may have been the manager) apologized for the noise and the crowd. Very thoughtful yet unnecessary - we're used to it in LA. The food was delicious. We asked for a restaurant recommendation for Victoria. The chef recommended Olo. Which was a fantastic recommendation. 6 stars out of 5. Keep up the great work.
We had a great hostess who was very attentive and made our meal enjoyable. The food was a bit hit and miss. We ordered a salmon Benedict, pork jowl Benedict, bone marrow, and FBLT. We found the biscuit for the Benedict's to be really dry and overly dense. The bone marrow was delicious but come with bread which we found too hard.
Great soundtrack to brunch
Delicious locally sourced fish and meats. Everything prepared in house
Great ambiance, great service, and great food. We ordered the deviled eggs, heirloom tomatoes, Vacche Rosse Ravioli, Miso-Glazed Heritage Beans, and the Peace Country Lamb Loin. We finished off with the Santa Rosa Plum and the Red Haven Peaches (must have!!). This was our favorite meal when we visited Vancouver!
This was the first place I've been in a long time where everything on the tasting (omakase) menu was both interesting and excellent. Great execution on each dish, and even simple things - padron peppers, grilled corn on the cob - were done with real attention to culinary detail (I marveled at these simpler dishes almost as much as the more elaborate ones). The bone marrow dish, which culminates with a small glass of sherry for each guest in order to do a bone marrow luge (look it up), is not to be missed. The wait staff is helpful, friendly, knows the food, and describes each dish as it is presented. The omakase is well worth it: you can name a price point, and the restaurant constructs your menu around that - and your food preferences. My wife and kids (13 & 20) loved it as well: it's the best food experience we've had when traveling to Vancouver (along with Richmond Night Market...).
100% perfect. The two nice young ladies who looked after us were knowledgeable, friendly, funny, professional and very very good at what they did. The chiefs made some beautiful food and the Omakase style dinner for the four of us was perfect.
We had friends in town and Wildebeest was a great choice for a fun evening of food and wine. We enjoyed the share everything style. Highly recommend!
Excellent restaurant! Highly recommend. Food was really good. The bone marrow is a must try.
Excellent, creative food and drink in a hip environment. From entrance to exit, the service experience was top notch. I will definitely return to dine and drink.
Service was pretty terrible, food & drinks were great
One of the best meals we had in Vancouver! The omakase is a great value and awesome experience. We named our price and got so much more than we expected. The staff was especially accommodating as we were a group of 6, but 2 wanted to order a la carte. Our server chose excellent wines for us as well. I really appreciated how inventive the food was. Each course was surprising and delicious.
