   We needed to be at an event. Advised our waitress of the urgency. She understood and made sure our breakfast was plated in a timely fashion. She was very polite and professional. Made good eye contact. Food was very fresh and satisfying. Would definitely recommend.

   If you would like to pay $40 for a buffet breakfast this one is ok. All food was hot and fresh, I wouldn’t recommend order from the menu. Our first morning we all ordered from the menu, the food all came at different times and was completely mixed up. The next morning two of us went for the buffet, two others had simple orders and one ordered from the menu and that order took close to 45 minutes to arrive at the table without an explanation or apology.

   We had a wonderful breakfast at Wilfrid's for a special occasion for our small family of 3. The atmosphere is top-knotch! we chose the a-la-cart option for breakfast (as opposed to the buffet) and it was a quite a surprise to wait well over an hour for our food and then receive it a bit warm. I'm not sure if it was the kitchen that was overwhelmed or the servers- but it was clear that more people were seated than they had the capacity to serve in a timely manner. They were also not preparing some of the items on the menu (and we were only told this when we ordered, not when seated). There are also some items on the kid's menu that aren't on the main menu (the Canadian classic of the maple crepes being the most notable!). I will likely return because the setting and food were great. I hope they consider having smaller seatings though- I'd rather just be told to have a later reservation than book an early time only to be ignored and waiting for 90 minutes.

   Shockingly disappointed. Food was fine. Selection was less than it has been in the past; the standard items such as the maple crepes and the benedict were well-made and the accompaniments such as the cheeses, breads, and patisserie were of high quality. But the other dishes left a lot to be desired. "Paella" was bland and had the texture of an overcooked risotto. Salmon in salsa verde had no flavour. Overall the food was just okay and we could have found similar quality and more variety elsewhere. Even more disappointing was the overall experience. One of our chairs still had food on it from the previous diner; a menu was smeared with what appeared to be ketchup. Tongs and serving spoons were in short supply. All of the people we interacted with were gracious, lovely, and doing their best but it's clear there are some issues. Worst was the parking situation—be warned and plan accordingly. The booking service states that "Fairmont Château Laurier offers a limited number of self-parking spaces for guests." When we arrived and asked to be directed to this self-parking, we were told that the only option available to us was $30, cash only valet parking. Given that we arrived 10 minutes before our reservation, and my guest was a 70 year-old with limited mobility, at that point parking elsewhere and walking over was not an option. So I had to run into the restaurant and withdraw cash to pay the valet from a machine that charged yet another $5, while my disabled, elderly guest had to sit in the middle of the arrivals lane feeling conspicuous. It was an embarrassing, uncomfortable fiasco that further tainted an otherwise disappointing experience. Not remotely on par with what I expect from Fairmont.

   Brunch is not impressive as it used to be before , don’t send $88 for 2 , go to Cora, it will be way much better than here . In the past the brunch was amazing ! Presentation , many varieties, now is pretty sad , just go to Cora

    The most expensive of all the “Destination brunch” from all fairmont hotels, it was the most expensive with the worst service and smallest selection of food. At the Quebec City hotel, they call you by name, serve you fresh coffee and juice table side, and clear your table frequently.

    So I expect a lot from.a Fairmont because it delivers. This was not one of those times. It is usually special and unique and I can't say this was not one of those times. I was underwhelmed and a fiarmont should never be that. The high tea is fabulous by the way.

    We went to Wilfred restaurant at the iconic Château Laurier for Father’s Day brunch and were so disappointed with the underwhelming buffet. The food was cold, the presentation was awful and the choices were very limited. The fruit table offered melon, pineapple and yogourt only! No fresh berries, even though local strawberries were in season. The hot dishes were bacon, sausage, overcooked scrambled eggs, very chewy French toast and soggy crepes. The only other offering was a bread table. With tax and a 15% gratuity, the final cost was $200.00. No alcohol, just 3 cups of lukewarm coffee came with our meal. How could such a beautiful hotel serve such substandard fare, especially on Father’s Day?

    We shared with the waitress that it was our anniversary. She was very kind to bring a little sweet surprise to the table to celebrate us. But to our surprise, we were charged for that dessert. $10. We didn’t ask for it. we were paying for a buffet! So paying $10 for a surprise we didn’t ask for it’s very strange. We did pay it. I honestly felt embarrassed to discuss that. But food for thought. Thank you!

    Second time dining here for breakfast. The service was very good. The fruit plate was fresh with vibrant color! The buffet was also nice but options are limited. Overall a beautiful place to start your day off!

    I've been to Wilfrid's when it had a more elaborate buffet (roast beef etc), and there were tablecloths and salt and pepper shakers on the tables plus servers. This felt like I was off a tourist bus at a roadhouse on the side of the road. The food was pedestrian as was the experience. The price of the buffet is highway robbery. There was very little value for money and I nor my friends and family will be returning. Frankly, the Chateau should be ashamed. Franceska Gnarowski

    5 star prices but 2 star experience. Sunday breakfast/brunch for 2, we booked in advance and asked for a table at the window, on arrival this had not been noted. The breakfast buffet had no chef and most on offer was depleted or there was none left. Really poor selection. Some of my coffee came in a cup and about 1/3 of it was in the saucer; the saucer was removed and I was left with just the cup and a reduced amount of coffee. I have been to this hotel several times and this was definitely the worst experience; the $40 charge (each) for the buffet (plus $6 for an OJ) was poor value, there are better options nearby. Suggest give this one a miss.

    We went on a Friday morning. It wasn’t busy. Good selection of food in breakfast buffet. Fruit was fresh and nicely presented. The crepe was delicious. The rosemary potatoes were excellent too. I only wish there was valet parking for restaurant visitors. The Fairmont website states the valet parking is available only for overnight stays.

    We went for brunch and it was very disappointing for the price that they charge. For nearly $40/person, you get less than what you would get at a standard breakfast chain. And the quality of the food itself was lacking. While our server was nice, we were very disappointed with the food.

    The amount of food at the buffet when we went was absolutely pathetic. We’ve heard such great things and how it was a must do, we couldn’t disagree more. We sat at our table without anyone coming over for far too long so we decided to just go and get food. There was so little selection we actually inquired if we were missing another part of the buffet. We were told that was everything. I’ve had included hotel breakfasts with more food and selection. For the price point this was absolutely ridiculous. We will never be going back

    A complete disappointment. Compared to what we experienced many times a couple years back this time was a very poor outing. I wanted to bring my wife to somewhere I was sure that we could count on to celebrate her recent promotion. Anyways it is what it is. An unbelievable downgrade in food and service experience.

    This was my birthday brunch, my girlfriends and I made plans to celebrate together. First: The service was wonderful and amazing no complaints at all. 100/100 Second: The food--I was really disheartened by the lack of selection and flavor, It was disappointing. The cost wasn't worth the quality/ items or experience. Compared to what I had last year, this time it paled in comparison, there were some dishes that are worth the trip, but nothing special enough to entice me to come back soon.

    You cannot visit Ottawa and not enjoy brunch (or afternoon tea) at Chateau Laurier. It’s a tradition that NEVER disappoints!

    Mother’s Day brunch. Extremely underwhelming and disappointing . Buffet choice was far less than expected. Some Items ordered from the menu were never received. Food that was served was lukewarm. Bathroom was a mess. Food quality was only so so. For the price we paid this experience was very very disappointing. The service staff tried their best and were friendly but were run off their feet. I expected and usually get far more quality and service from fairmont. If this is the norm from Wilfred’s then I would suggest to save your money and go elsewhere.

    I booked the Wilfred’s brunch for Mother’s Day. I requested a table on the main level since my mother is in a wheelchair and was accommodated 10 minutes earlier than our reservation time which was nice since we had arrived almost 1/2 early. We were immediately greeted by a smiling Natalie who informed us the moms got a free Mimosa which we agreed to and my husband ordered a tea. Unfortunately the promising good service went downhill from there. Although my mom and I received our drinks quickly she forgot my husband’s tea We also told her we wanted to order table side dishes since they had just started a buffet again for some items and the reason I booked the buffet in Wilfred’s (at a much higher cost) instead of the less expensive buffet in the ballroom was for table side service since my 102year old mom can’t manage a serve yourself buffet. When Natalie left we assumed it was to get the forgotten tea and then take our order. We were wrong - she started serving other tables that were seated after us and after more than 20 minutes of waiting tried to get someone’s attention ( a lot of servers were talking amongst themselves and walking back and forth) before someone said they’d get Natalie. After 10 more minutes I managed to get another server’s attention who brought the forgotten tea and another mimosa for my mom and I for the long wait. My husband finally went to get some items from the buffet table to curb his hunger. It was over almost an hour after the first time when Natalie finally returned to take our order (we saw her her taking orders and serving tables that arrived much after we did so felt we were being ignored). We were told the side dishes would take 15-20 minutes to arrive so my husband went back up to the buffet to get some food to tide us all over - understandably, I did not want to leave my legally blind, hard of hearing elderly mother at the table by herself. The food we had was delicious but the service ruined what should have been special

    We waited over 35 minutes for our table despite having a reservation. We then waited for over 20 minutes for someone to take our drinks order. In fact, I had to stop a staff member to bring that to their attention. All in all, rather disappointing g especially considering the price of the Mother’s Day brunch.

    It was absolutely scandulously not value for money. For 4 people it cost more than 500 CDN. There was a huge lineup at the buffet and it was ill-organized. The table service, however, was very good.

    The 2022 May 8th Mother's Day brunch at Wilfrid's was our first time back for Sunday brunch in 2 years! We found that the service was excellent -- friendly and accommodating over a very hectic brunch period -- especially impressive was our server, who was amazing under all that pressure. We miss the all-buffet style in Wilfrid's from before but we could get used to ordering the delicious side-table dishes -- we ordered seconds of our favorites! Lining up and going through the breakfast buffet -- definitely not as much choice as before, but still very good quality and all very delicious. At the buffet line, it was very busy, and had to go back after they replenished certain items like those signature maple crepes we had not had in over 2 years! Likewise, the selection of desserts is less, but that flourless chocolate cake is even better than we remembered, and I had no more room to try other desserts! So need to go back! We missed seeing "Jimmy" at the omelet preparation station, of which there is no more, again less choice now, but what they do still have is excellent. In the past, we have fondly remembered Wilfrid's Sunday brunch as it has been a go-to destination for us to mark many of our special celebrations and occasions. All-in-all, now that we have whet our appetite again, we look forward to going back during a more normal Sunday brunch in the near future to maybe experience a more relaxed ambience.

    Top quality breakfast brunch at Wilfrid's. We loved that there are buffet style choices as well as à la carte and served table side items. All included in the price of the brunch. Everything we ate was delicious. Service was also excellent and attentive.

    Maybe because of Covid19, maybe because of inflation, but the offerings are not as great as they were. This is a glorified breakfast, not a brunch. And I am not crazy with needing to order food - that is supposed to be in the buffet - and to get it in small plates.

    Hadn't been to Wilfred's weekend buffet since pre-covid. While the experience was still very good, the buffet process has changed. Limited items on the buffet itself and a list of things to choose from that are prepared fresh in the kitchen (eggs benny, French toast, mixed sausage plate, beans, crepes). Hopefully they will revert to the old buffet with all the items in the near future. Food was good but need more items to justify the $50 price.

    We always attend their new year's day brunch and so we expected equally good value for the money - unfortunately this time, there wasn't much selection and we felt it was overpriced for the food and service (18%) that was charged upon reservations.
