Fabulous dinner at Woodlot. We were a family of 4 with one vegetarian. Veg menu was appreciated and excellent! As was the meat menu😁. Service from Melody was outstanding!!!
Great food and timely service. VERY loud though. ///////////////////////////
We had a great meal at Woodlot, everything we ordered was delicious, and they have a great wine list. The staff was very attentive but not overbearing, and the ambience is lovely.
Great ambiance, great service, great food. Will definitely go back
Woodlot is the absolute perfect date-night spot. The food was incredible (don’t miss the Bavette steak!), the cocktails were well-balanced, the service was attentive but not overbearing, and the atmosphere was perfectly cozy and intimate. We loved the open-kitchen, simplicity and attention to detail. Can’t wait to come back!
Have been here many times and always enjoy it. As a vegetarian, I appreciate having a vegetarian menu, but also great to have the omnivore menu for non-vegetarian friends.
Food was delicious. Our server was very helpful. The setting is rustic and appealing. Nice size .... not too big or small. Vegetarian menu was available and quite good apparently. I had pork and very much liked it. Cocktail drinks’ names were references to Game of Thrones which made it fun.
A favorite! Menu changes seasonally, love the varied vegetable-friendly options. Everything is prepared beautifully, and dishes are thoughtfully planned with lovely flavours. Wine and beer lists are both exceptional. Service is very attentive yet low-key and friendly. Beautiful cozy room. Not super loud so you can enjoy conversation with your dinner mates.
We came here for our 1st wedding anniversary and called ahead a few times, the restaurant repeatedly said they couldn't do anything special. Dietary restrictions were listed on the reservation but it didn't matter when we got there, there was barely anything eggless that I was able to eat. The place is sold as quiet and romantic but it was extremely loud and irritating. The food was OK, but WAY too overpriced. I've eaten much better food in the city for a fraction of the price. Would not recommend this restaurant.
Top spot! Staff were super and the food was outstanding.
Great spot for date night!! Food was delicious and service was fantastic! We will be back!
The zucchini blossoms were fantastic yet overpriced and very small portion ( $4 for 1 blossom) and the pork chop when served was not warm and very overpriced ($32) with no additional side- all side orders are a la carte. It is not a high end restaurant yet the overall prices are quite expensive. It is a very small restaurants with seating close by to others.
Great ambiance. No pretentious attitude.. We sat at the railing on the balcony, so we got an aerial view of the kitchen staff at work. Fun to watch them load that giant oven with all that delicious food. We had the mushroom-beet appetizer, the steak and the pappardelle. For me, the pappardelle was the highlight. But the steak was nicely done as well, though I was hoping for a slightly bigger portion.
I would not hesitate to go back or recommend this place to a friend.
The steak was very chewy and the mushroom starter was room temperature and under seasoned. That being said. Get the stuffed zucchini blossom. Amazing!
heirloom tomato salad was awesome even though it had only cherry rather than full sized tomatoes but at $17, the price made it a very poor value. we had the stuffed pepper and the rockfish entrees. they came with interestly prepared veggies but the serving size just didn't justify being a main dish. we were seated in the upper level and had a good view of the overhead fan above the main room; it was full of dust and grime which did not make for a great dining experience. either the place never gets inspected or the inspectors don't worry about what is hanging from the ceiling that might drop into the food.
This was my first time at Woodlot after reading nothing but good reviews. It certainly lived up to the hype. Great service and unbelievably good food. 10/10 would recommend.
Great place...but it was very hot. No air conditioning appears to exist
The restaurant was super accommodating for our large group of 10 (last minute booking). Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food (you can’t pick a bad item on the menu, all comes down to preference) and the latte was one of the best in town!
Was an alright meal, but nothing really outstanding for the cost. Good ambiance and service. Lots of vegetarian options.
Believe it or not, it was our first time dining at Woodlot in 2018!
Loved the simple yet sophisticated menu, and the no frills dining experience.
Definitely coming back for more!
This is the fourth time we have dined at Woodlot when visiting from Vancouver. Their vegetarian menu is sublime and different each time. The wood-oven is well used to create incredible breads and vegetable dishes. One of our favourite spots in Toronto.
The food was exceptional, the timing of selections perfect
Try the Heartsbane
I have to start by saying I love his place. We used to live in Toronto and returned to Woodlot over a vacation (been away for 2 years). The visit was among our top 5 things we had to do when in town. So we had high expectations. The food was as good as ever - absolutely delicious. The service was great and easy going. The dessert was fabulous. We were there with our children who waited patiently to get the petit fours. All in all a great meal. Makes my mouth water just remembering it.
It was good- just not amazing. Given that it was a special occasion I was hoping for more, especially for the price point. Steak was average and pasta was very salty. But did love the fire roasted broccoli and hen-o-the-woods mushrooms. Bounced between two servers with opposite energies. One was very dry and kind of seemed cranky. The other was over the top enthusiastic. Was a bit of a wild ride - haha.
Outstanding food! Highly recommended!
We'll be back there for sure.
It's a quaint little place. However for the portion of food you get, the prices are way too high.
One of the best vegetarian meals I’ve had in Toronto! Love that there is a separate menu for meat options.
Lovely atmosphere, given the option to sit on the patio or in the dining room. Patio was very nice and not too noisy even with street traffic.
Service initially seemed a bit rushed, but was fine once we’d ordered.
Good drinks menu.
We dined upstairs and it was uncomfortably warm- enjoyed the food
We were blown away. My friend and I have been trying to make it to Woodlot for quite some time. It has been recommended repeatedly. It did not dissappoint. The wait staff and management were available and helpful. The wine pairing suggestions were excellent. The food was delicious. Perfect night to catch up over great food and fabulous service. Thank you to everyone. We will be back.
Woodlot is a gem. Excellent wood fired concept and very creative vegetarian dishes, a real rarity. The wine list is outstanding.
Wonderful meal and cozy space!
We’ve been many times and it’s delicious. My husband is vegetarian and I am not so it’s great there is a full menu available for him to chose from.
Vegetarian food is great as always - nice cozy place!
The food was impeccable, the service was lovely, and everything was done quickly and professionally. I was mildly disappointed that we weren't comped at least a celebratory drink because of the occasion we were there for, but that's likely more that I'm a victim of my own expectation a reflection of the restaurant.
A terrific meal as always!
Carnivores and Herbivores side by side in perfect harmony.
Booked this place after reading great reviews. It was just OK. As a couple out, it wasn't the right choice for us but would maybe suit a crowd of friends. The prices did not reflect the food and facilities as the food was nice, not outstanding and the AC, noise and space were all poor.
We went out of our way to go here which I wouldn't recommend but if you're nearby and in a group it's not bad.
Edward was amazing. He navigated us through the wine list and made a few recommendations that were pleasantly surprising. The rest of the staff seemed a bit uninterested in serving us. We’d heard many great things about Woodlot before going, but maybe our expectations were a little high.
Phenomenal experience, friendly service, homey atmosphere, creative use of ingredients & outstanding flavours.
Excellent food. Wonderful pastas, zucchini blossoms and the pork main was fabulous. Service was equally up to the quality of the food. A value experience.
