Birthday celebration. Friendly service. Great food
Menu was limited and pricey. Wine list was also expensive at $80 for cheapest red wine most were $120-$170 . No coffee available for after supper we were informed they do cocktails instead. Noise level was high at times we were yelling at each other for conversation. Not the best night out for the money spent would not recommend for an evening out
Waiter gave great recommendations and new the food and drink menu very well. Food was 10/10
Woodwork never disappoints! Our server, who is on his way to becoming a sommelier, was knowledgeable, intuitive and friendly. The food was excellent - the buttermilk and herb fried chicken was amazing! I had the El Diablo, which turned into two. We were able to have great conversation, as the the noise level was not disruptive. It is always a treat to visit Woodwork!
Service was very slow.
Another great night at Woodwork!
My favourite place for high quality interesting food. They keep there menu interesting and seasonal. Changing it often. The cocktails are always top notch. Atmosphere is intimyamd cozy class.
Highly recommend for a downtown spot.
Loved our return visit ... enjoy the limited menu concept ... tapas style apps and small plates.
Wouldn’t mind an better variety of reds ... price point is fine but grape variety is limited. Also ... update the website as you update the menus!
Other than those observations ... keep working this hard and we will return!!!
The restaurant wasn’t busy but there was no hostess at the front to seat people properly .
The front door the restaurant is very cold with the door and opening and closing
Would love an espresso at the end of a great meal.
Not very attentive service. Ran out of several dishes. This happens but would have been better if they told us at the outset what was of the menu rather than playing 20 questions.
Cocktails were good. Food was good but extremely small portions. Very expensive for what we got.
1 appetizer (2 sausage patties sizes of Denny's with 2 slices of bread) = $16
1 salad (1 endive and 1 beet cut up with sauce) =$19
1 order of gnocchi (20 gnocchi in sauce) =$29
Grand total =$94
The food was excellent. I do find it a little pricy.
Super loud, very difficult to hear the party you were with from synthetic noise. Server was pleasant. The drinks were interesting, albeit pricey. The real disappointment was the portions for the price they are charging. 4 pieces of pasta for $33 with cut up asparagus seemed pretty ridiculous. It was tasty, but felt more of an appetizer, leaving us venturing to another venue later that evening to feel satisfied. Not a very strong impression, made a celebratory event finish on a low note.
Excellent all around good choice for any occasion.
Nice restaurant, excellent drink selection, good service, and tasty food. My only issue... While the portion sizes for the "small plate" and the dessert were good, the "large plate" felt a little small, especially considering the price. Also, not sure if this is an Open Table issue or not, but when you make your reservation and the Open Table app asks you if it's for a special occasion, it's a little disappointing when there is no followthrough by the restaurant.
We found the food to be quite expensive and not worth the price. The gnocchi that I ordered was quite a small portion and came with absolutely no sides or any accompaniments. My boyfriend’s steak was extremely underdone - he ordered it medium rare and at least a third of the steak was barely even rare. It was red and not even pink in the middle...it was bordering on blue rare in spots.
For a high caliber restaurant, we would expect an expensive cut of meat to be prepared as ordered. The restaurant has a beautiful ambience and was quite charming, however, we definitely were not impressed with either or our meals.
The sticky toffee pudding that we had for dessert was delicious and was certainly a more appropriate portion size.
Food was good but seemed over priced for the portion size. Drinks are great quality and worth the price
Great cocktail menu, though the service was a bit awkward with the bartenders bringing drinks out and not knowing who they were for - ended up like an auction while distributing them. Food was only ok though, not a lot of value for the dollar.
The drinks were delicious but the food wasn't special (for the high price) and we were disappointed with the server (who wasn't attentive)
Perfectly crafted cocktails (the house sour is amazing), beautifully balanced plates of fresh and inspired ingredients (I have yet to be disappointed by a single dish). The ambiance is intimate but social. Trendy (not fancy but not casual). Service is always impeccable. As a foodie, my favorite restaurant in Edmonton.
My friend and I were in for her birthday dinner/ celebration. Our server Nic was unreal! We will definitely be back!
Portions are small. Service is okay but slow. It’s very loud. The food is decent but just okay. Very over priced for what you get, I don’t mind paying if the food is worth it.
The service was great but the food didn’t live up to the hype. We ordered 4 appies of the small plate menu and 3 of them were served with the exact same sour dough bread. The tartar, the bone marrow and the tuna are all soft textures and were served with the same bread which is also a soft texture. They need to switch it up, so every texture on the plate isn’t the same. Won’t be going back unless the menu changes
For the price you pay to eat there, the food was very mediocre. I would not eat there again or recommend this restaurant.
Great as usual. Excellent bar but also the kitchen puts out a small number of extremely well thought out and delicious meals. It’s the best in Edmonton.
I picked Woodwork since they are one if the few in town that have Pappy Van Winkle, and especially the 23yrs old bottle. Very rare and pricey but oh so worth it.
Excellent but very small menu. Service was impeccable and timely. Wine suggestion was excellent and the food was great, although my wife’s chicken was slightly undercooked. We never said anything so this was not an issue.
Husband and I had an excellent dinner and night out for our anniversary. Sara was an impeccable attentive server and we would highly recommend this restaurant
The food and service were good. However, the restaurant was very noisy and it was too crowded. The Maître’d was very rude and they were somewhat un accommodating,
We had a great time, my only disappointment was where we were seated. We were a group of 7, and walked into the place as the first customers with the exception of a few at the bar. We were seated right by the drafty door. I asked if we could be seated a little further in at least 3 other accommodating looking booths that were still empty, and the bartender, who actually greeted us flatly said no, and then pretty much blew us off. I honestly came very close to blowing off the reservation due to his lack of even trying.
Everything else following that was great. Jessie, was a very attentive and patient waiter, as it was difficult to choose from the menu.
We went for my partners birthday and had a wonderful evening. Cocktails, food, and service were excellent. Thank you so much for the extra birthday treat at the end of the meal too! (Even though we were both STUFFED!)
Absolutely delicious food and great cocktails. The halibut was cooked perfectly.
Great selection of drinks. Service is exceptional. The food menu compliments the available cocktails.
Amazing food and drinks. Try the chicken it was amazing
About to change the menu -- all is good but I have been at Woodwork several times since last year and still have all the same items on the menu.
Also, I like the place in general but it is way too loud and the tables are quite close together.
Great food.. neat drinks.
Tomahawk streak was fun to order.
Beef tartare amazing
Bone marrow unreal
Thanks for the kind words Cory. See you next time! -WW
Had a family Birthday and ordered a bunch of items from the small and large plate selection. Loved the Gnocchi, roasted Chicken, frites, and the chocolate mousse! So delicious.
