The food and drinks were excellent! Definitely will be back!
Quite expensive expectially drinks. My food was good but nothing to write home about, partners enjoyed his food. He ordered coffee and for 6:00 they brought him 1 cup and then took cup away to refill and we finally had to ask for it back.
They never came back to offer me another drink or refill. I asked for coffee when they brought back other one. Not offered refill.
So level of service poor for cost to dine there.
Was amazing , we will definitely go back again
Overall great experience. Fantastic cocktails and great atmosphere. Server was attentive, polite, and friendly. The one negative is we found some of the menu items to be quite small for the price.
Fantastic food and service. Portions were a little small, but you have to expect these things at a nicer nicer restaurant. 100 percent reccomend
Great ambiance, lots of fun
Beautiful place that I went to with coworkers. I’d recommend it to everyone. Love to bring my boyfriend here next.
Cozy place, great for a date. Server was very nice and helpful with the menus and specials.
Delicious food, original drinks and a great candle-lit vibe; would definitely recommend!
They did not have a large amount of gluten free options. Was hoping to have gluten free pasta with mushrooms or the chicken. Both have gluten. Had the pork chops which were tasty but way too fatty. The rest of my family enjoyed their meals.
My daughter & I enjoyed a great evening out and fantastic food.
Love this place, but the cocktails are very pricey for portion.
Woodwork will remain one of my favorite places to drink in the City
Great ambiance and “old fashioned” menu. The service was great and I appreciated that our food was cooked over the open fire. Great experience.
Delicious! We keep wondering why we don't come to Woodwork more often. Delectable wood-fired food and creative mixed drinks. A downtown gem!
Great place to go after the Winspear. Sometimes the smell from the kerosene was a little strong and would have been great if they stayed open an hour later on the weekend but otherwise it's a cozy spot to go for a night cap!
My husband and I haven’t been to wood work for several years and sadly it has really lost the extras that made it a remarkable dining experience. The service was alright, but nothing special. We had steak tartar and no fresh plates or cutlery were offered after that dish. When the charcuterie board was dropped off, there was no explanation of what meat and cheeses were on the board. . . Which where three types of salamis. Lastly they now charge $3 (totally not about the $) for burnt (they can try and say charred all they want, but it was flat out BURNT) crustini.
The food was overall enjoyable and the atmosphere was pleasant enough, but overall we were disappointed as it was previously on of our favourite places. Won’t be going back.
While the cocktails at Woodwork are very good to excellent, the food does not come close to a standard Woodwork should be striving for. The French fries were great. Why was the gnocchi inedible? tough and tasteless. It ruined the chicken dish.I think the food quality has declined. This needs to be taken care of.
The food and drink were great! One of the best beef tartar I have had and the lamb belly was delicious. Their Portside cocktail was heavenly! The server, although generally great had a bit of attitude and that took the rating down a notch.
Food and drinks were fantastic, order the dealers choice and let skilled bartenders get creative!
Menu is limited but the food was excellent quality. The ambiance was not particularly attractive, but my experience was influenced by being next to the door when it was really cold outside.
I've tried Woodwork twice now and my overall conclusion is: Great cocktails, good appetizers, and definitely don't bother with the main courses. Come for the trendy atmosphere and the drinks. Both main courses I've tried have been average, oversalted, and overall disappointing. ("Chickette": rolled chicken breast with bacon, accompanied by inexplicably fried and sauce-less chewy gnocchi and overly salty corn "succotash"; and Steak Frites consisting of oversalted steak surrounded by the saltiest hickory fries I've ever tasted and somehow a salty-tasting salad). For the price of the 1/4 "chickette" I could have bought an entire organic chicken and roasted it myself and ended up with something way tastier and 4 days of leftovers too.
The hot buttered rum, on the other hand, was divine in the cold weather and the charcuterie plate was very good.
Food was great. However, restaurant does not know how to serve a hefeweizen beer. Hacker-Pschorr Weisse served in a pint glass without any head whatsoever. It is a transgression against beer culture!
Great food but very uncomfortable seating arrangements such that it was impossible not to overhear the neighbouring tables conversations. Which were neither interesting nor pleasant. The service was only so-so. The food was absolutely great but I would be unlikely to return due to the ambience.
Great cocktail place! Eggnog cocktail was amazing. Also really trendy room and great vibe. Bread and butter are delicious as well
Great cocktails, cool atmosphere. It was very busy in there so service was slightly slower than ideal.
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Had an incredible dinner with cocktails, server was very helpful with suggestions and describing the menu
The $45 dollar steak was difficult to cut and worse to chew. I was told by the server that medium rare would have been more tender than the rare I ordered. First they were going to cook it some more and then a bit later VMware andsId they were going to
Very good food and service. Just a bit noisy for two older untrendy women to catch up on our lives.
Great food, vibe etc. need more staff to help out.
The food was very good. Unfortunately the service was shockingly poor. We could not get any help with anything - from water to ordering to getting another drink. Etc. The servers were not friendly, not helpful, not fast, not aiming to please, etc. It was like we weren’t there or they didn’t actually see us. We have been to a lot of high end, trending new restaurants and this was the worst service we have experienced in a long time. It was a Tuesday night and reasonably busy but nothing out of the ordinary for a good restaurant. Sadly, the service really put us off and will definitely impact whether we visit again.
Great meal! Excellent cocktails! Best meal there to date!
The cocktails and vibe are great. They’ve changed up their menu and have got rid of some old favourites (kale salad/meatballs). The steak tartar seemed frozen and way too dense. The rest of the food was ok but I feel like it was much better before.
Superb food, excellent service, pleasant and cosy atmosphere - great experience without being pretentious. Happy to recommend
Great Vibe. Great selection of drinks and Amazing food.
Great experience! Food was wonderful - I had a steak, great service, fair prices. It was busy, however I found the acoustics better than some restaurants where you can barely hear the person sitting in front of you and feel like you are shouting. I would recommend this restaurant.
Overall, very satisfied. Few concerns though. Made reservation with date after Winspear. Didn't appear to be any place to hang our jackets or anything. Music was slightly louder than I prefer, but not to bad.
Service was poor. It took 45 min to get our drinks. The restaurant was very dark. The server had to use the table candle to show and explain our meal. Service was so slow we were unable to have dessert or coffee and all we ordered were salads and a charcuterie board. Overall not good value will not be back!
Food was great w/ exceptional Old Fashioned list of cocktails and one of the best restaurants in the city with vibrant atmosphere.
I've been to Woodwork a few times now and the food is very good and consistent.
I love the Old Fashion options as they are my favorites. My friend didn't love her Martini however as it was made with sweet vermouth.
The only thing I could mention to make it perfect would be the timeliness of the cocktails. With all the bartenders, I thought they took quite some time.
