We were seated and served promptly. Our server was excellent and explained the options clearly. There were 3 of us, we chose the tasting menu and a bottle of wine. While the food was interesting and quite good, overall we left feeling it was quite expensive for what it was at over $400. Great decor and a great space with a pricey menu.

Great food selections. Locally sourced suppliers. Servers are very attentive. Great lunch meal special that changes daily. Soups are fantastic.

Great place. A “go to” when I am in Calgary. My only complaint this time is that we hung around til past 1:30pm after a bit later start to lunch and the “clean up noise” in the open kitchen was overly/distractingly loud. Lots of crashing and loud talk. Noticed by others as well. Other than that all good!

Went on a Monday and was surprised to discover that the regular menu was not available and we could only pick the 3 or 5 course chefs menu. Not knowing this before hand I was a little hesitant, but we decided to go for it - best decision!
The food was fantastic! Definitely of the best meals I had in a long time. I really enjoyed the tasting menu and it was a great opportunity to try food I might not have ordered. The portions were a perfect size and a great value for the price.
Want to come back and try the regular menu but will absolutely do the tasting menu again!

Workshop continues to impress with the best food in Calgary but also ranks high with the absolute most uncomfortable seating in the history of restaurants.

If the food wasn't so good, I would never subject myself to those seats ever again in my life. Please for the love of God fix your seating.

Absolutely fantastic 5 course meal! The quality and flavour of our dinner was impeccable, not to mention the amount of food you get for $55 was beyond our expectations! We will be back to try the dinner menu!

Service was great, but most dishes were lackluster. The cod was incredibly unbalanced- no acid or sharpness to it all, all soft and creamy and the curry had a weird aftertaste. Things are paired together that don’t go properly together (a sweet fry bread with a VERY heavily smoked lamb rack). While the food was all cooked and prepared well, the dishes had serious taste and balance issues. Even the espresso torte for desert was troubled. The salted caramel gelato was so salty and over sweet I didn’t eat it (first time in my life I’ve left ice cream on the plate). Appetizers were the best menu options, the scallops in particular. The cauliflower the server recommended was good, but missing some heat or acidity. It just tasted mayo drenched. Overall service was great but I definitely wouldn’t come back

A friend who was in Calgary for an extended stay visited fifty five restaurants in the area. His top choice was Workshop. I finally followed his recommendation and was not disappointed. Delicious food, generous portions, relaxed friendly service, nice ambiance. A little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. Got a tad noisy which is always a consideration for us but would not deter another visit. I’ve already been recommending Workshop to friends.

Wow!! The food here was absolutely fabulous, as was the service from our server, Bobby -- who was very helpful with our menu decisions. We will absolutely be back again whenever we are in the city. Every course of the tasting menu was delightful, and the wine & beverage pairings were unique/unexpected but well chosen. The smoked beef tartar was excellent. The duck perogie was too. Both the cauliflower and the brussel sprouts side dishes were memorably superb. Oh I could go on and on, but will just finalize by saying that I will return whenever I am in Calgary.

This was our first experience at this restaurant. Pleasant atmosphere, welcoming and eager staff. The a la crate menu offered the option of an individual or shared portion. The menu provided a broad range of dishes. Combination of flavors were interesting and balanced, although did not quite match the description. I am a stickler for food being served at the correct temperature and some dishes were not as hot as they should be, whether this is a result of sitting too long to be presented or by chef design . Overall I would certainly return for a second visit.

Great service from Bobby! Wish he was dressed more the part of his wonderful and friendly service. Food was great as always. The improv dessert was a notch less than expected, as the cake could be more moist. Or if the cake was supposed to be more dry, then would need more of the fruity puree. If there could be a couple more vegan options, would have allowed my friend to enjoyed her food as much as I enjoyed my non-vegan meal. Overall great experience as always.

I had the seafood curry which was wonderful, filled with salmon, snapper and shrimp while my companion enjoyed the soup and salad (simple but WONDERFULLY DONE). The mushroom soup was excellent!

There needs to be more education in gluten free options with the servers. I ended up getting sick from the potatoes which I think were cooked in the same deep fryer as wheat. Cross contamination needs to be understood and addressed. Otherwise great place

Great dining experience all around and one of better restaurants I have been to in Calgary. I did find the wine list over priced relative to other comparable restaurants, but despite that, still well worth going.
I will definitely be back.

I was a bit disappointed in the fish feature. The fish itself was fine but the chickpea curry was watery and a bit tasteless and I did not like the naan bread underneath the sauce. Usually the food is outstanding so this was a bit unusual.

We ordered the 5 course Chefs Menu and it was amazing, although we chose our own wine off the bat before ordering our food (and was a good choice) we would go with the wine pairing next time.
Our server was knowledgeable and experienced.
It was a great night.

Great food with delicious flavours. Had the Improv chefs choice meal, told the server we had a show to get to and he was able to compromise with a 4 course meal with wine pairing (rather than the 5 which would have been crunched for time) interesting flavours inspired by South America, France, Thailand, sounds like a mix but went really well together on our taster meal. Would definitely recommend for a date or special occasion!
