we had a wonderful meal at the YEW. The service was excellent. will definitely come again
Excellent experience dining at Yew last night. Andy our server did an excellent job. The menu is very balanced and the sea food is outstanding.
First time there and won’t be the last. The food and service were great.
Nice. Good food and nice environment
Server Joel was outstanding!! Professional polite and fun. We enjoyed our seafood feast and his lively conversation and great service
We will definitely missing this place once it get closed down...
Food with no taste at all.
Chef must get fired right away
Simply, a steal
We had a good meal. I started with a really good gin martini. The tuna tartar was fresh and good. The seafood gazpacho was unusual in that it was rather deconstructed with whole slices of tomatoes. The mahi mahi was overcooked on the Roasted Mixed Seafood but the Sablefish was cooked to perfection. My wife liked her flaming chocolate dessert.
Drinks were very poorly executed. Such a disappointment as Yew used to be one of my favourite places to drink in downtown.
Above average, slightly. Not spectacular.
Amazing quality seafood. Love knowing that I'm supporting sustainable fisheries.
We have dined at Yew several times and, as usual, this experience was excellent. The food, service and atmosphere is great. Prices are what you would expect at a good restaurant.
Our server completely ignored us to the point where we had to ask for cutlery from the bartender.
We never saw him again after ordering our food and in the end, we got up to pay at the hostess desk. It was then when our server came rushing out to say he was tied up with other tables. The restaurant was pretty empty at that time since it was 1330-1430 and well past peak brunch period.
As usual the vegan menu was amazing - so many choices. I had the mushroom and walnut pate for a starter which was delicious. I had the tofu for my entree and it was fabulous and I always save room for the cheesecake!!! My husband the meat and potatoes guy, had a shrimp cocktail to start and a filet mignon and fries for dinner and chocolate cake for desert. He always says everything is good with little to no enthusiasm but this time he said his steak just melted in his mouth. High praise. The service was excellent and the drinks were perfect! I have always found this restaurant to be most able to accommodate us both. All in all can't wait to go back!
Four Seasons staff know how to treat guests well.
All delicious seafood!
The value was not there to make it special. It was a birthday and it was a missed opportunity to regain our enjoyment of the restaurant. This was the second try and it was below expectations in both occasions.
Our third visit to Yew, and the only time we’ve been disappointed in the food. We ordered the sablefish (a favourite) and the lobster. Unfortunately the lobster was a real let down. It was over cooked, rubbery and lacked seasoning. A rare miss, but it won’t stop us from returning.
Very beautiful decorated restaurant with friendly staff. There are also lots of selections on kids menu. Highly recommended for families with kids.
Great creative seafood dushes
Something for everyone in my family-seafood for my husband, kids menu, and a full vegan menu for me all with wonderful service.
Service was good (which was a huge improvement over last time) however the brunch was only okay. Our table had the chorizo hash and the french toast. Both were pretty standard brunch fare and weren’t extraordinary in any way. I will likely not be back as there are too many better brunch choices in Vancouver with better choice, more unique flavours and better value for the experience.
we were sitting next to a group party, it was very noisy. Apart from the noise, it was a good dinner. Food was good but portion were small. Our server was excellent.
Overall, the food was delicious as always, although the service was a bit slow when we first arrived. In any event, great place for a business lunch!
We had as perfect a dinner as we have ever had. Food, service and ambiance were all outstanding. Special kudos to our wonderful server Joel.
We are steady customers but this time I ordered the lamb and it was very tough and very difficult to chew. Will go back but not order this dish.
We’ve been to Yew several times to celebrate special occasions. The food is always great (everything seafood!) and the service is attentive and friendly. We spoke to our server about the future of this restaurant when the Four Seasons is set to close in 2020, it’s a shame that Yew will be going with it.
Aside from missing Jay Z who was on the injury list ...
Our service and food was great, my second favourite table was perfect! Thanks again to the staff. Cheers
Thank you for fulfilling our request to be seated in the middle area of the room. Service was outstanding and evening memorable.
Service was great but the food I had Smoked Salmon + Avo Toast was a bit salty on the eggs and oily on the greens. Overall, it was so so this time.
Had a great time. Food was excellent.
Wonderful meal with great service.
Awesome as always.
It was all around excellent! Thank you!
I have lunch or breakfast here every time I come to Vancouver. It is THE meeting spot for business or just to meet with friends. Great food and service is obviously one of their priorities. Highly recommended.
Did the Mother's Day buffet as i heard great things, and they sell it really well on OpenTable. Excellent choices, fantastic presentation of dishes, overall great tasting food with a few misses (thankfully it was a brunch...so no points lost on that one).
I can't say enough good things about the dessert table, it was amazing!! Beautifully crafted and tasted amazing, I would come back just to eat their cakes again! The employees at the front and the server were extremely nice, and went out of their way to be hospitable and accommodating.
The staff that served the food at the stations were less than stellar. Some were fairly nice enough, and others seemed like they didn't really want to serve you when you walked up to them. I don't expect super forced smiles and attitudes, but at the same time it'd be nice to feel like I wasn't a nuisance before I even said anything. I wasn't sure if they were judging my social status, nationality or simply didn't like their job. It made me not wanna go back for seconds.
Mother’s Day brunch was amazing! Service was excellent!
Thank you for the awesome dining experience!! Our family enjoyed our time at Yew. SPECIAL THANK YOU to our server (I believed his name is Matt) for looking after my 10 months old! We will be back =)
