Overall it was a great dinner, the only short part is I have to ask for more water. My water glass was empty and didn’t see my server for a while, the buzzer was busy setting up other tables to breakfast. And also at the end we waited for a while for our server, asked for the server from the table next to us to get our server. Since we couldn’t find him on the floor.
Our steak was great, lobster rice is not soft enough, the rice was still 1/3 raw. Dessert was excellent.
Very nice restaurant; in the hotel but accessible to visitors to neighboring mall; nice presentation of food; good for breakfast, lunch & dinner
Excellent service, wonderful server, great ambiance
I have picked this restaurant to redeem my Open Table dining cheque and was hoping for a flawless experience. I made a right choice - my waiter Jason was great: professional yet with a sense of humor, food was on point: tuna tartare for a starter was light and delicious, mixed seafood for the main included lingcod, salmon, prawns, and scallop - fantastic. They gladly substitured the roasted cauliflower for broccoli and asparagus for me. I will be definitely back next time I am in Vancouver.
Very slow service. 1 1/2 hours to get main course served.
Delicious food, fantastic service, and a very pleasant dining experience overall.
Dennis is the best!
Our waiter was amazing. The ambience was great. We truly enjoyed our dinner and drinks for the evening. The only thing that was unfortunate was the wait for food. Over an hour and a half. It was a crazy busy night with work parties so I understand why the wait was so long.
Great seafood! Like the atmosphere and interior design.
* Noise level relatively high.
Overpriced lunch menu. 30+ fettuccini with only a few pieces of small clams. In fact, the size of the clams is so small I don’t recall eating any. $17 for a crab chowder that taste mostly like potatoes.
Great restaurant, great service, the food is okay. Not really sure why their isn’t any sides with the steak. I ordered a rib eye steak and got 1 broccolini as a side. Wasn’t worth the presentation or even the price point. I get this is a seafood restaurant but didn’t really like my meal. Anyways, my girlfriend liked her meal. I probably won’t come back.
Yew is always great food ambience and super delicious ... service is perfect
Always a lovely place to dine. Staff are very friendly and the food is fantastic.
We always enjoy our meals and typically go for special occaisions like Thanksgiving and Christmas and Birthdays! Lunch is also good!!
Great service even thought we were there late in the evening the staff were still engaged and friendly!!
We went for an American Thanksgiving dinner while in Canada. So, not sure about the regular menu. Everything was excellent, but with the entree trying to squeeze in many of the Thanksgiving regulars, it had too much going on. Most of it was quite delicious. We ordered both of the two turkey plates. One of them was $14 more than the other and had a touch of truffle. Other than that little taste, they seemed to be about the same, but not exactly as presented on the menu. The turkey breast wasn't dry. It was turkey. The scallop and pork belly appetizer was beautiful. It made me plan to try their regular seafood oriented menu. Dessert was a pecan tart. Good, but a little dry. The service was wonderful. The drinks were beautifully prepared and presented. The room was large and very busy. Our table was odd because one side looked towards a placid wall and the other looked towards the fascinating chaotic kitchen scene. It is hard to knock them for this. I would try them again in a heartbeat.
Food was VERY disappointing. We ate at Yew on Thanksgiving and was only offered a fixed menu. Upon requesting their vegan menu, we were told that only two items on the menu were available. We ordered both and they were truly terrible. Uncooked vegetables and spaghetti with tomato sauce for $30 each. We look forward to eating at Yew annually and will very likely never come back.
Enjoyed it so much for our honeymoon that we returned for our anniversary. Great food, great service. Great to incorporate into a stay at the four seasons.
Eaten here 3 times in a month and somewhat dissatisfied each time.
The food is incredible here. My dessert was a work of art and delicious. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We love The Yew!
We had a fantastic meal in a great upbeat environment. Our waiter was very attentive and had some great recommendations for us. I’d make it a go to for an impressive experience.
Service was great & the scallops and sablefish were amazing!
This was our first dining experience at YEW. Our experience was amazing. Rob was our waiter and he was knowledgeable and friendly. He made us feel right at home. We enjoyed the nine item Fishermans Box between the two of us. The seafood was fresh and flavourful. We would definitely dine here again.
Once again, Yew was all it was promising. I had a business brunch as usual was able to enjoy a very good menu selection (in fact our waiter told us we were right on the change over to the lunch menu and could select from breakfast or brunch). As well my guest and I were well served by the professional staff that came when we wanted them and kept their distance when we did not. Only one small complaint and that was that the coffee in the urn brought to our table was tepid.
Came here for our anniversary and it was the perfect kind of place to do so. With our dessert they were kind enough to write happy anniversary on the plate. The food is amazing the service is so kind and it’s beautiful inside. It’s not cheap but it’s very good
Inconsistent service. Food was average, presentation was fair and prices are high. Disappointed.
Excellent service and food
Very spacious restaurant. We could enjoy talking and take our time without feeling the pressure from staff to rush yet they come to serve us promptly. They have both healthy food and fried-food like fish and chips to satisfy your hunger. This is a restaurant everyone can enjoy. Very convenient location, too.
Service is great.
Food is great (when finally received)
Speed of food preparation and table delivery was Poor.
One hour from order to delivery to the table at Lunch. 4 guests only and Yew was only half full. Management very apologetic which was appreciated. Service Efficiency should be addressed with Chef and his team. It should not be up to the dedicated and experienced waiters to make excuses for the delays in food delivery and the inefficiency of the Kitchen.
Very good service and nice menu items to choose from. We tried all items of fish man box but I think the salmon scallops and tuna stand out the most
All around great time. Great gathering area with great service, food and very thorough menu.
We had a great time and sorry to hear they are moving.
A lovely meal of fresh fish and two really nice desserts. Very good service but not over the top,
Every bite was sensational. The food was creative, tasty, and adequate in amount. The server was upfront about our choices and recommended the restaurants specialties. We’ve know this hotel for forty years and appreciated that they kept the polar bear hanging. It has been the restaurants trademark for us since the 80s. The Reno’s are nice but less cozy than the old. Happy to go back. Prices were reasonable in spite of being in the centre of a Vancouver. Delightful cuisine!,,
We had a great waiter who helped us select an excellent rose wine (gave us a taste of several different wines) we shared a large salad and a main meal, both of which were split at the kitchen. Overall good food and good service. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for a special occasion, since it is rather pricey.
I was there with my family for my birthday celebration . The overall service and food was good. However, I told the server at the start that I want my food VERY temp hot , not warm.
I ordered the lamb med rare and it was less than warm.
He took it back and the cook basically cooked it again. It came back as hot BUT the lamb was well done !
I was shocked that the YEW , which has a reputation of good food and service , would RE COOK the same two pieces of lamb and serve it back to the customer.
After again having to track down the server , he took my plate away again. this time I waited @ 20 min for my two pieces of lamb ribs and it was cooked nicely.
However, by that time, the other 5 people at my table were already finished their dinner etc. So I took my food home. I was no longer hungry . Disappointing indeed
I took a friend out for Thanksgiving Dinner, and was very impressed with the selection of dishes offered.. We had a remarquable server (Alan), who was very attentive and also very informative. In all, we had a wonderful meal. Kudos
This year our dinner was extremely over salted. Turkey was nice but the potatoes and veggies were like licking a salt pot.
The service was ok......even though we told our server 4 times that we had a pecan allergy he still brought the pecan dessert. And our bill was incorrect. Good thing we were paying attention.
A nice spot for happy hour but not sure we will go back for dinner.
Matthew was exceptional. Being a busy Thanksgiving night, he provided extremely great service and as a Four Seasons employee myself, it was amazing to be on the receiving end of such a great dining experience!
Right from when we arrived till when we left it was an outstanding experience. The hostess was friendly and courteous and we were seated promptly after we arrived. The ambience was very romantic and intimate for our dinner date. Our server, David, was excellent! He made great suggestions from the wine to the dessert. The service was excellent and very prompt. The tuna tartare was exquisite, fresh and melted in your mouth. My sablefish entre was delicious and the dessert was to die for!! Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone for a wonderful dining experience and great food! Les K
A massive birthday party with crying kids killed the romance for date night. Guess we should have gone for the 9pm opening vs 7:30pm. Food was great!
$45 for 2 scallops, 2 prawns, a small piece of sable fish and a small dry piece of salmon? Definitely not sockeye.
$34 for 2 pieces of very dry salmon pieces with a scoop of sushi rice.
