Awesome as always.
It was all around excellent! Thank you!
I have lunch or breakfast here every time I come to Vancouver. It is THE meeting spot for business or just to meet with friends. Great food and service is obviously one of their priorities. Highly recommended.
Did the Mother's Day buffet as i heard great things, and they sell it really well on OpenTable. Excellent choices, fantastic presentation of dishes, overall great tasting food with a few misses (thankfully it was a brunch...so no points lost on that one).
I can't say enough good things about the dessert table, it was amazing!! Beautifully crafted and tasted amazing, I would come back just to eat their cakes again! The employees at the front and the server were extremely nice, and went out of their way to be hospitable and accommodating.
The staff that served the food at the stations were less than stellar. Some were fairly nice enough, and others seemed like they didn't really want to serve you when you walked up to them. I don't expect super forced smiles and attitudes, but at the same time it'd be nice to feel like I wasn't a nuisance before I even said anything. I wasn't sure if they were judging my social status, nationality or simply didn't like their job. It made me not wanna go back for seconds.
Mother’s Day brunch was amazing! Service was excellent!
Thank you for the awesome dining experience!! Our family enjoyed our time at Yew. SPECIAL THANK YOU to our server (I believed his name is Matt) for looking after my 10 months old! We will be back =)
The food was so incredible we visited twice during our weeklong stay in Vancouver. The staff are all incredibly friendly and down-to-earth, which was nice because, frankly, they don't need to be, given how upscale the restaurant is. We didn't have reservations our second visit, and it was no problem at all.
The sablefish is a must--incredibly soft on the inside but crispy on the outside. Please, get the YEW Hazelnut Rocher 2.0. The roasted seafood mix was a nice sampler of their fish offerings.
Consistently excellent food and superb service from the entire team. Kudos again to the chefs.
Good service, friendly and responsive staffs, good food and lovely ambiance
A nice dinner of sable fish that our waiter fine tuned to our request. He was also very helpfull with our wine and cocktail choices.
We loved the recommended Sablefish particularly.
Great service and lovely place!
Execellent modern restaurant and bar with a superb seafood offering. Great atmosphere and energy. Wonderful service.
Best salmon burger of my life. So delicious. Service was great (as expected) and this remains one of my favourite places for a business lunch downtown.
Outstanding flavors and presentations
Portions are small for starters but delicately prepared
Taking the train ride in the Rockies
Fantastic server! He was delightful and made the evening extra enjoyable.
Attractive, stylish restaurant specializing in seafood, but with other options for the carnivores. Food excellent, service impeccable, but there is one problem. The place is quite noisy! Yes, that means it is impossible to eavesdrop on one's neighbour, but conversation was difficult.
The salad was not as good as it used to be. However, the salmon burger is amazing and the service is exceptional. The staff are considerate, friendly and went far beyond my expectations.
Sunday brunch for 2
My husband ordered chicken—big mistake. Yes, I know they’re known for their seafood but, c’mon, no excuse for dry chicken or, better still, take it off the menu. Seafood box, halibut, sablefish all good—not amazing. Still had a great evening with friends but don’t know if we’d return if we weren’t staying at the hotel.
We had the lobster and the squid ink pasta. The lobster was cold, dry and boring. The pasta was clumped together. When they asked how our meal was and we said that we were disappointed, they said ‘oh no that is terrible’ and walked away. They didn’t do a think to compensate. Totally not worth it.
It was very pleasant. Service was good, efficient but not overbearing. Waitperson was knowledgeable. Atmosphere was relaxed
Overall the food and the service was very good. My. Sable fish was cooked perfectly and so was our halibut. However, the sable fish was our favorite. Our server was very patient and knowledgeable. He was. Courteous and very polite. Actually, he was fantastic!
The value was not there. It is a little bit overpriced.
Running late for our reservation, it was great to have valet service (albeit expensive at $22).
We had requested and received seating in a "quiet" section, which ended up being near the back of the restaurant.
Our server, Joel, was quite engaging (which we like). He asked us if we were seeing a show--which we were not--so that he could "rush" our orders accordingly. Joel was quick to answer any questions we had and even suggested/offered to make a substitution of the accompanying sides for one of the main dishes.
YEW's Hazelnut Rocher 2.0 dessert is worth the price and will get looks from neighbouring patrons, as a special server pours liquid fire onto your chocolate dessert--get your camera ready!!
Went for a quick Friday lunch and the food and service was terrible. We complained to the waiter and nothing was done. Very disappointing experience
I found my first experience with Yew, very tepid.
The service was impeccable, although I truly enjoyed the Crab Chowder...but the Seafood Pot is overrated and overpriced.
Our server David1985 was amazing, food was fresh and tasty.. highly recommended..
We had a terrible experience! We had a "free dinner for two" prize and we didn't realize until we traveled all the way downtown and sat down at our table that there was extremely small fine print saying the prize was not valid on Saturdays. The server and manager were very nonchalant and unsympathetic when they explained the fine print to us. What a waste of time. I will not return to this restaurant. I'm very unhappy.
Exellent service and attention from all, the metal is delicious
Excellent waitress - attentive and helpfulDelicious food. Able to easily talk.
What a great spot for an Easter Brunch! The seafood was fresh and superb. All the other choices were excellent and delicious. The selection was appropriate for numerous tastes. So many hotels offer Easter brunches but they are usually crowded because of extra tables; this restaurant was perfect without the crowding.
we were there for the Easter Sunday buffet brunch, selections were amazing too bad they only do this once a year, there were some items that was made fresh from the kitchen which was included in the buffet. Service was awesome as usual.
Easter brunch served by the amazing Ian!
Enjoyed previous mother’s day dinner so we came back! Wonderful Easter brunch! Plenty of fresh raw oysters! They also kept on filling king crab legs, ribeyes, lamb chops and ham! Cutest desserts ever! Great service and delicious food! Love this meal!
We went for Easter brunch--not a bad buffet but it was overpriced.
Had dinner with my family last Saturday. Outstanding! from food to service, all good!
Had a Roasted Mixed Seafood, my husband had the risotto, all cooked and presented in high quality.
Kids menu is also very good with good options, my 6 year old son loved the mashed potato and grilled chicken.
Will definitely come back.
The ambience is good. The atmosphere is fantastic. Great service. But for the price, the food is only acceptable. The Risotto was partly uncooked. The crab salad had shells in them. The texture of the scallops were fantastic but tasteless. For $45 a plate, I expected much more. For that price, I have a lot of choices in Vancouver.
