Not many people know it but they serve breakfast here and it is wonderful.
Fantastic, reliable service for all times of the day.
Great service from the beginning. Everything was tasty. Had the tuna tartare to start. It was fresh and not fishy at all. Nicely balanced by the avocado. Had the lamb as main, which was perfectly cooked and moist, and not gamey at all. Also had creamed spinach and french fries on the side. The creamed spinach wasn't really "cream", but more pan fried, but still tasted good. French fries could be a little crispier.
Very pleasant . Food is always good. Two of us had the Mixed seafood dish and the salmon was cooked perfectly, moist inside. Server Matthew was great. Restaurant was not full so noise level was “good”.
Ourselves and another couple visi Vancouver (from Victoria) on the first weekend of the year. This year marked the 25th annual visit. we stay at tbe best Hotel offering the best rate. This year it was The Exchange on Howe Street. On the Saturday night we dine at a fine dining facility and one which we have not dined at on our Vancouver weekend. This year we selected Yew at the Four Seasons and we were not disappointed! We were delighted with every aspect of another memorable evening.
Great service and yummy food! They even had a no carb meal of zucchini noodles and salmon!
New Year party.
Their new year eve set dinner was $96.00 before tax. The food was great! The portion was reasonable. Yew always has good food and services.
New Year's Eve dinner was spectacular. Started with 3 amuse bouche--all delicious. We shared the first course to have both choices, both had the sturgeon as the main course, since it's a seafood specialty restaurant; and each chose one of the 2 desserts to again share and taste both! All fabulously prepared with excellent service. Not inexpensive, but less than half the price of NYE meal in San Francisco with more food and better taste! Highly recommend. Unfortunately, this Four Seasons Hotel, in a dispute with the shopping center owner, did not renew its lease and is leaving soon.
Yew was fabulous as always ... service was great ... our server was funny and courteous. The food was amazing.
Absolutely incredible dining here! Primo service, fabulous wine list and delicious cocktails. Can't say enough
We just probably had one of the best dinner experiences we’ve ever had in the city of Vancouver at YEW seafood + bar! Our waiter was incredible and super accommodating and informative about the menu - he even recommended great virgin cocktails for me as a very pregnant lady! Our food was amazing followed by a desert that they literally flambed for us at our table which was a neat experience. Highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to go back!
Birthday dinner for family
Food and ambiance was good. Service was good but a bit slow to to get the bill and pay. Waited about 15 minutes for our server to come back so we could get change. But overall she was lovely.
Great place to dine with family over the holidays!
last christmas, we had a legendary experience! went again for mothers day and was sadly disappointed. since four seasons vancouver is closing early 2020, we decided to go again this christmas. unfortunately, it was a very average dining experience. excellent ambience, but service was not as attentive (plates were not cleared right away); side plate options were not made known to all parties at our table; different-quality orange juices served to different tables; the seafood selection was very limiting... if i had not ordered the side plates, i would think the value of the buffet was $30. plus we were served the bill before we grabbed any dessert items. not going back next year!
The Christmas breakfast buffet was beautiful. The sushi was sadly a little less than imaginative but the seafood overall was excellent. There was much that we didn’t try but looked delicious. The salad “bar” had a nice selection of items though they were a little hard to access in the bowls they were presented in and especially some of the higher containers. The desserts were fabulous both in presentation and flavor.
Our waiter was excellent. He was friendly, very attentive and provided outstanding service. Food was very good.
Reserved a table for Christmas Eve dinner. Wasn't aware that it was a set menu for $105 per person. The food was just ok—limited selection and nothing to write home about—but our service was pretty terrible. We had to catch and ask at least five different people for bread, pepper, a wine list, our server was nowhere to be found most of the night. We ordered two fairly pricey bottles of wine, one was off, the second was not at all good. It was a pretty disappointing dinner. I've had other excellent meals here, so it was surprising how bad it was.
We had our annual Christmas lunch at this restaurant last year. WOW, what a difference a year can make. Last year our meal and service was outstanding. This year, the meal was poor and the service atrocious. We waited over 1hr for our lunch and 25 minutes before we received our 1st round of drinks. The meal arrived very late and was lukewarm. The service was atrocious. Our waiter was not attentive and other tables around us with different waiters were being served before us even if they sat down after us. Our waiter seemed disinterested, distracted and it was as if he forgot about us way in the back.
I would stay away from this restaurant and save your money!
Great dining experience, my friends and I were celebrating
Food was outstanding. As usual.
Andy, our server is clearly one of the best in Vancouver, total professional.
very good food, pricey though. The crab salad was very good, the crab chowder amazing...wouldnt get the lobster again. Service was a bit slow, but it was dec 22 and a busy weekend so understandable
It's a beautiful room, the service is quite good but portion sizes tiny. I get the pricier items but a handful of French Fries for $8.00 - Come on!!!! Cheaping out on low cost items left us feeling totally ripped off.
We came here because Yew used to have an outstanding vegan menu. However, as I understand it, the menu and kitchen direction has changed and the options are so disappointing. A hummus wrap? Veggie skewers? That’s not what I expect of a restaurant of this caliber.
Someone please open a decent fine-dining vegan restaurant in this city.
Service was prompt and responsive. Ambiance was a delight if a little fishy.
Went with my wife and 4YO daughter and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we were welcomed and were fantastic with my daughter
Very busy! Our table was left for approx 15 minutes before we could get someone to come to our table (after asking for service). Restaurant was very loud and made it difficult to talk. Only redeeming factor was the food was very good and they started our service with a plate of wonderful homemade donuts! I’d go back for the food but not necessarily the ambience.
Food was too rich/high fat without a balance. My toasted bread was burnt. We liked the ambiance and the service was good and friendly. I wasn't offered any compensation for the burnt toasted bread though. The small sweets to start were very good - brioche and waffle - but the overall taste was very sweet - I would have preferred a more balanced flavour (something tart).
Amazing service and great recommendations
Overall it was a great dinner, the only short part is I have to ask for more water. My water glass was empty and didn’t see my server for a while, the buzzer was busy setting up other tables to breakfast. And also at the end we waited for a while for our server, asked for the server from the table next to us to get our server. Since we couldn’t find him on the floor.
Our steak was great, lobster rice is not soft enough, the rice was still 1/3 raw. Dessert was excellent.
Very nice restaurant; in the hotel but accessible to visitors to neighboring mall; nice presentation of food; good for breakfast, lunch & dinner
Excellent service, wonderful server, great ambiance
I have picked this restaurant to redeem my Open Table dining cheque and was hoping for a flawless experience. I made a right choice - my waiter Jason was great: professional yet with a sense of humor, food was on point: tuna tartare for a starter was light and delicious, mixed seafood for the main included lingcod, salmon, prawns, and scallop - fantastic. They gladly substitured the roasted cauliflower for broccoli and asparagus for me. I will be definitely back next time I am in Vancouver.
Very slow service. 1 1/2 hours to get main course served.
Delicious food, fantastic service, and a very pleasant dining experience overall.
Dennis is the best!
Our waiter was amazing. The ambience was great. We truly enjoyed our dinner and drinks for the evening. The only thing that was unfortunate was the wait for food. Over an hour and a half. It was a crazy busy night with work parties so I understand why the wait was so long.
Great seafood! Like the atmosphere and interior design.
* Noise level relatively high.
Traveling for shopping and business. It’s what you’d expect from the Four Seasons. Good food and haute-couture environments that right in the center of everything the city has to offer including a shopping mall just outside. The server was kinda clueless however - while the table in the next section would get the full details for every aspect of the dishes they were contemplating we got a little more than mono-syllabic responses only after pressing for more information. We were seated in the way back when there was plenty of better seating available- not sure why. The food was good but not exceptional. I expected more but might try it again if only because the shopping is so close.
