Sunday brunch for 2
It was very pleasant. Service was good, efficient but not overbearing. Waitperson was knowledgeable. Atmosphere was relaxed
Overall the food and the service was very good. My. Sable fish was cooked perfectly and so was our halibut. However, the sable fish was our favorite. Our server was very patient and knowledgeable. He was. Courteous and very polite. Actually, he was fantastic!
The value was not there. It is a little bit overpriced.
Great service...
Running late for our reservation, it was great to have valet service (albeit expensive at $22).
We had requested and received seating in a "quiet" section, which ended up being near the back of the restaurant.
Our server, Joel, was quite engaging (which we like). He asked us if we were seeing a show--which we were not--so that he could "rush" our orders accordingly. Joel was quick to answer any questions we had and even suggested/offered to make a substitution of the accompanying sides for one of the main dishes.
YEW's Hazelnut Rocher 2.0 dessert is worth the price and will get looks from neighbouring patrons, as a special server pours liquid fire onto your chocolate dessert--get your camera ready!!
Went for a quick Friday lunch and the food and service was terrible. We complained to the waiter and nothing was done. Very disappointing experience
I found my first experience with Yew, very tepid.
The service was impeccable, although I truly enjoyed the Crab Chowder...but the Seafood Pot is overrated and overpriced.
Our server David1985 was amazing, food was fresh and tasty.. highly recommended..
We had a terrible experience! We had a "free dinner for two" prize and we didn't realize until we traveled all the way downtown and sat down at our table that there was extremely small fine print saying the prize was not valid on Saturdays. The server and manager were very nonchalant and unsympathetic when they explained the fine print to us. What a waste of time. I will not return to this restaurant. I'm very unhappy.
Exellent service and attention from all, the metal is delicious
Excellent waitress - attentive and helpfulDelicious food. Able to easily talk.
Wonderful meal.
What a great spot for an Easter Brunch! The seafood was fresh and superb. All the other choices were excellent and delicious. The selection was appropriate for numerous tastes. So many hotels offer Easter brunches but they are usually crowded because of extra tables; this restaurant was perfect without the crowding.
we were there for the Easter Sunday buffet brunch, selections were amazing too bad they only do this once a year, there were some items that was made fresh from the kitchen which was included in the buffet. Service was awesome as usual.
Easter brunch served by the amazing Ian!
Enjoyed previous mother’s day dinner so we came back! Wonderful Easter brunch! Plenty of fresh raw oysters! They also kept on filling king crab legs, ribeyes, lamb chops and ham! Cutest desserts ever! Great service and delicious food! Love this meal!
We went for Easter brunch--not a bad buffet but it was overpriced.
Had dinner with my family last Saturday. Outstanding! from food to service, all good!
Had a Roasted Mixed Seafood, my husband had the risotto, all cooked and presented in high quality.
Kids menu is also very good with good options, my 6 year old son loved the mashed potato and grilled chicken.
Will definitely come back.
The ambience is good. The atmosphere is fantastic. Great service. But for the price, the food is only acceptable. The Risotto was partly uncooked. The crab salad had shells in them. The texture of the scallops were fantastic but tasteless. For $45 a plate, I expected much more. For that price, I have a lot of choices in Vancouver.
Excellent service.
Staff were very attentive and service was outstanding!
Great food and service as usual!
Excellent seafood, fresh fresh fresh, top service very friendly and knowledgeable
Great experience. Our server, David, was very knowledgable. We thoroughly enjoyed our cocktails as recommended by David. Food was very good too. A great value for the TravelZoo coupon.
Expected much more for the price point. French toast felt like it was make from wonder bread. I've done better myself at home.
Absolutely fabulous food, service, ambiance, gluten-free options, just a delight!!!
the lamb was beautiful, I couldnt eat the risotto and the mushrooms were good ...they were a bit greasy and I could taste onion or something in the risotto. the dessert was lovely and the wait staff was exceptional
Fantastic seafood.
Yew has been our go-to resto for business meetings lately when we like to treat our guests. The food in general feels like comfort food. My favorites are the seafood platters and the lobster bisque.
Very relaxed atmosphere. Portions little small but beautifully displayed
Our server, Andrew, was exceptional. The food was incredibly prepared and delicious. The choice for our TravelZoo voucher was varied and wide. We will return!
Being in a hotel, the Yew is upper tier food and ambiance, but can be formal or casual. Service is usually very good, with enough staff to ensure that your water/wine glass is always full. I found the prices higher than I remember and am disappointed that the Sunday wine promotion has been discontinued.
I do have two not-so-flatteringly comments. 1) attention to the ladies' room. Albeit I reported to the restaurant hostess that the ladies' room really needed attention before our drinks were served when I went back when we finished dining, it still wasn't done. In fact, it was in worse shape than the first time.
And 2ndly, nuts are a very common allergy. Why, out of the five desserts (not including ice cream/sorbet) do four of them have nuts? I am severely allergic, it was my birthday and I was extremely disappointed by my limited options.
I really appreciate the vegan menu. Yew has become our go-to restaurant for a special occasion, as there really isn't anywhere else that offers fine-dining with a decent vegan selection in Vancouver. The food is just ok, not nearly as inventive and delicious as Acorn, but the service is outstanding.
It was really nice to be here . Staff was friendly
Even though our booking in the bar was messed up, they still looked after us. Great spot for a pre dinner drink
A most pleasant experience with a fabulous server,(Jenny) , great food, and ability to have great conversations. All wait staff were excellent
Dinner was great. Joel was our server and he was probably one of the best my wife and I have ever had. He was funny, attentive to details and really made the meal. The food was excellent and with great service the entire experience was perfect.
Amazing service. Good food experience. I would recommend it for any special dates
Went for an anniversary and the food was amazing.
We went for my girlfriend's birthday and the food and our waiter were fantastic. However, I asked if they could do something for my girlfriend since it was her birthday, but nothing came out of it.
Decent seafood but not the best. Oysters were ok and shrimps had a tasty sauce (mayo/avocado mix). Marinated octopus was revolting and fishy. Lobster had good promise but the sauce for it was cold and tasteless. Desert was excellent and service attentive.
