Everything's good, Except for the table behind was extremely loud. seems like they were so drunk.
We have monthly celebration with friends at diff restaurants
We always enjoy going there. It’s very sad they will be closing their doors in January.
Since the restaurant will be closing permanently in a matter of weeks, this doesn't really matter, but: (1) our server was very good; (2) the food was very tasty, and the presentation was amazing; (3) the hostesses were poor (they at first tried to seat us without offering to take our coats, and when we specifically asked that they do so, they tried to put one on top of the other, which - since they were wet on the outside from the rain - would have meant that the INside of one of them would have gotten soaked, if we hadn't insisted that they use two separate hangers). (4) the wine by the glass list was ridiculously short, and they were out of several of those wines (because of the pending closure, they aren't ordering new stock).
Beautiful space but even with a reservation, we were given a table right next to the kitchen under some bright lights. For a romantic date night, it wasn't the best table. However, our server was very nice and efficient.
Been here several times! Always delicious. The fact you can get travel zoo's and get a deal is even better! They're closing in January so get before it's gone!
Sorry this preeminent culinary landmark is about to make its final bow.
Perfect! Waiter was wonderful and food was excellent as always.
Great food and service
Food was very good but service was slow. The expeditor in the kitchen was clearly struggling. Our waiter was trying to handle a large party in another room plus his tables and couldn't do both so he did not check in with us. I suspect my lamb was sitting around or quite awhile but was still good. We had to send a cocktail back as something was clearly wrong but the second one was fine.
We went for Thanksgiving Dinner. Food was really good, no complains. hard to give it an outstanding as Thanksgiving is very traditional, relatively simple food; Turkey, mash potatoes, stuffing and some veggies. But no complains, except that portions were quite small. We could have taken a bit more of everything, especially something green on the plate. but it was really well done.
We have been to Yew for the past four American Thanksgiving Dinner because one of our guest is vegan! Therefore I automatically assume Yew will honour this tradition a vegan American Thanksgiving dinner set like the regular one, but was disappointed with just their regular vegan menu.
Putting the vegan component aside. Turkey was served all white meat, temperature at luke warm, the gravy was great, so was the mashed potatoes, the scallop and pork belly was great, along with dessert. But it’s Thanksgiving we are coming for, and the star (turkey was dry and served at luke warm temeperature)! Disappointed to say the least! We will not return for the 6th year in 2020 and that’s for sure.
Everything was perfect except for the two couples that were seated later after us. They were loud and toasted how proud they were to be Mormons from Utah. There were so many F bombs coming out of their mouths most stadiums in the USA would have found them in violation of code of conduct rules!!! Wish the waiter would have mentioned it
With the amount you are paying you’d expect faster turn around.
The server was lovely but forgot to give spoons for pasta, and soup. He had great customer service so it made up for it.
The hostess could have been friendlier, she had a stern attitude which lacked a welcoming approach to answers for where the bathroom is or if the party arrived. The servers cheerful attitude and ability to speak diminished her capability by comparison.
The food was most disappointing for me.
First we had two soups. They came out around 15 minutes apart which was fine as we ordered it separate. But it took around 16 minutes each to receive. For a soup which is half made it was disappointing. It was beautifully warm though.
We had ordered lobster, and pasta entree and appetizers from there and I found this to be the disappointing part. The lobster, and pasta was cold. It was not too busy, so I found this disappointing as the seafood and dishes that are well over $40-80, was Luke warm at best. I understand the location is closing soon, but lower heat lamps or higher voltage heat lamps should be necessary. Perfectly cooked scallops.
It was also my brothers birthday, a reservation I made online and again asked for special writing for dessert by phone prior to the day. It disappointed me That in all 3 desserts ordered it had no writing when this was specified 2 times.
Previously as well, we were given a birthday plate as well, so I felt less special. This of course is a personal Note which did not reflect the review.
Very poor service unfortunately. We were offered water only when asked and waited too long to be served.
very good services and food. Highly recommend to others
Jason was an amazing Waiter.
And the seafood was superb
Very creative, fun menu. Terrific service in a very welcoming atmosphere. Really enjoyed it!
Everything from the reception through the end of our meal was perfect. Jason, our server, was amazing - professional yet completely engaged with us. His recommendations were cohesive and really allowed us to have a perfect meal. I would highly recommend the experience.
Love this restaurant. The decor is West coast luxury and the room always has a great feel and vibe. Food is very healthy and always delish.
Good food and excellent service. Definitely pricey but it is the Four Seasons....
Service was great, food was good. Very nice ambiance, will definitely be back.
Food is super good & the server is very professional.
But just a little disappointed when the reservation is booked with occasion Bday, the receptionist says nothing & the restaurant did nothing..
just unlike other Fine Dinjng Restaurant
It is an absolute shame and a total disappointment that this Restaurant & Hotel will be closing down in January of 2020 - WRONG!!
Great service from Joel. Food was amazing.
We have been several times to YEW and been happy but this time, the food was less than good. My “medium rare” tenderloin was at best medium well done.
Excellent food, great value and outstanding service
Absolutely terrible service. Food was mediocre for the price. Steak was overcooked and while it was remade, the sides sat under a heat lamp.
Fantastic as always. The food is delicious and looks fantastic.
Great restaurant with amazing food and service. Too bad, it's supposedly closing?
A delightful dinner. Warm and friendly service-very flexible in accommodating our dietary needs and wishes. Food was absolutely delicious.
Great service from everyone (host, server, busboy)! The highlight were the beautifully crafted desserts and the lovely touch of complimentary doughnuts at the very beginning. I’m quite sad this place will be gone by January 2020!
Clam Chowder soup was disappointing.
Booked for a business lunch and we had a quiet table in the back. Ordered the Ling cod which is in daily menu and was absolutely delicious! Service was excellent.
I love this place. Food is always good and service, exceptional. Very pricey, however so be prepared to spend a few bucks. The filet mignon was good, not excellent and it should've been for $45. Overall a very good experience. Excellent cocktails and late night service and menu.
We shared the seared scallops and the seafood pot. Both were delicious and fresh. I have many sensitivities when food has fillers or pre-made sauces and I felt great after our meal. My husband is also type 1 diabetic and he had a very low sugar reaction to the food. The food at the Yew was clean and amazing. Service was also too notch. We definitely recommend and are very sad they will be shutting down.
Excellent wines including by the glass
Great service and ambience
My wife and I have been attending Thanksgiving at Yew for 8 years straight now. It has become our Thanksgiving tradition and we would like to keep it that way. It is against my nature to write reviews. However, Open Table asked and we had a service issue off the bat that I feel should be addressed. Our Thanksgiving reservations are always made months in advance to make sure we get a table. At the request of Open Table, I confirmed that reservation the day before. When we arrived, the hostess couldn't find our reservation. She questioned us with some attitude, so I politely showed her on my phone to help clarify the confirmed reservation. She continued to question whether we really made one, then took her time figuring out a way to seat us. We were then escorted to a large, shared table to be sat directly between 2 large groups. We walked past several tables of 2 on our way, so I asked if we could be sat at one of those, and the woman seating us really didn't want to. I think she noticed the immediate disappointment in our faces because then she ran away leaving us standing there. We walked back to the front and her and the hostess were working something out then sat us at a more reasonable table for 2. No apologies were made for losing our reservation, or for trying to squeeze us between 2 large families at the same table, even though we had made reservations almost 3 months in advance to secure a table.
The menu has remained similar with small changes year after year. The heart of the meal is the same though. Yew's Thanksgiving preparation doesn't stray too far from tradition that it feels like a science experiment, but it's modern enough that it's a refreshing experience. Simply, great! The attention to detail for such an event is impressive. Dessert, usually the weak point, was the best it's ever been. Service is always friendly and attentive. The price has crept up slowly over the years. But this year was the first year it was a substantially smaller serving.
Food was excellent. The scallop ceviches and other chilled seafood selections were amazing. Service was fast and friendly, always there when you wanted but never intrusive. Cocktails were well made. Overall a fantastic dining experience. Will definitely be going back while we still can. It is a shame that they will be closing their doors in 2020.
I love that I can bring my children and am not treated any differently. Our food was delicious and the service was exceptional!
