Yo Amo Tacos
Enjoy Mexican Euro Fusion comfort food
food was terribly disappointing. veggie quesadilla had hardly anything in them, order chicken tacos, was dry hardly any other topping on them. all i can say ambience was nice, live music helped a bit but then it got too loud for the conversation.
I had read reviews about the service and food being poor but I was naive and still gave it a shot. I had ordered nachos, asking for guacamole on the side and I assume our waitress forgot and it was plastered all over the nachos. To add, I received my drinks AFTER both my appetizers, as I had to remind my waitress that she had forgotten our drinks and she asked what we ordered again. My whole table ordered tacos and there was the bare minimum of toppings and choice of meat/fish in our tacos (70% tortilla shell). I asked specifically for NO cilantro on any of the food served at our table, yet there was cilantros in my tacos. My friend was then charged $25 for her fish tacos when the menu clearly states $17 and the waitress replied, "oh we upped the prices on the menu". Uh, so we're not going to mention that anywhere?
To be honest, it could be SO MUCH BETTER! There is so much potential, but I personally will not be returning.
Literally the worst meal I've ever eaten. Plus I got sick from the pork. Horrible, horrible food.
We really enjoyed our experience. It was fun, the food is delicious. Overall, great place, we'll definitely recommend it. Great service too v
Amazing service. Date night and our server was fun and super friendly. Food was top notch and super fresh. Its a fun atmosphere and we will go again. Wanted to stay for the Saturday night music!
Fantastic food and our waiter was great the only reason I’m going at four instead of five stars is that they had a few big parties and the service was a little slow but the waiter was outstanding regardless kudos to this restaurant
this is my honest review and I would return for a second try. The food was good. We were placed in a cramped table when our reservation was clearly for 10 people. It was very cold in the restaurant, We had to wear our jackets. The appetizers came out one at a time and it took more than 30min, that is far too long to gave to wait. After that, our food was delayed as well. when your reservation is for 7 PM you should not be eating your dinner at 8:30 PM. The waiter was apologetic and kind. We were not offered anything in compensation for the long wait or slow service. we were charged extra for a couple of additional tortillas and a small side of guacamole to go with the fajitas.
Chino was amazing and did the upmost to make sure that we were all ok and food was good. He should get a raise. He made my daughters birthday even more memorable
So happy to have found this restaurant! Definitely worth trying. Great food & service.
Great food and service! Drinks weren’t the best. Tasted watered down
I’d recommend hiring an extra chef to speed it along. The food is great and the staff is friendly but it still took an hour to get Tacos.
Went there for a after work girls night/belated birthday. Sangria was amazing, food very fresh and delicious and Rosa was on the ball for service.
This place is one of the best i've been to outside of Mexico. The food was excellent and the attentive service make this place a favourite for me. It's kind of tucked away in a corner, so its hard to find on the street.
While the food was great-it took way to long for our table to be served. I ended up having to pack my dinner to go b/c I had to eventually leave. Others got their meals at different times and two received theirs in to-go containers because staff thought they were also leaving.
Food was good overall, portion of guacamole, for the price, was small; quality of guac was fair, but a Mexican restaurant should have amazing guac, in my opinion. The decor needs updating as the chairs weren't very comfortable and shabby. Service was okay, but i think the servers forgot to come to our table and then when I mentioned it, they came over. Overall good place for families. My tacos was good - i have the pineapple/pork - my partner had a steak quesadilla which was also good.
Absolutely love this place. The atmosphere is eclectic. The servers are pretty good and the food is excellent. Truly authentic! I will come back again for sure.
Very disappointing, place smells like mildew, toilet was dirty, food took at least 45 minutes and was charged double on our bill until we questioned it.
Would not recommend and won't return. Don't know how they stay in business!
Don’t bother save your money and time. Go somewhere else.
Terrible service, below average food, high prices, very small portions. Check your bill before you pay!. There are many better options around.
Delicious authentic Mexican food!! Server was extremely friendly and helpful
This restaurant is located in Woodbridge but you feel like you're in Mexico once you step through the door. Food is delicious and authentic and the live music gets you moving. A must go to for anyone who loves Mexican food or who is looking to try something new.
Good service, food was average for the price, Might not visit again
Super delicious food! very kind staff and was a great environment to catch up with a friend! overall amazing experience :)
Fun place, makes you feel like you are in Mexico. Great experience every time. Live band is loud so be prepared.
Everything was great but the wait for the food to arrive from the time we ordered was too long.
Excellent but slow service due to understaffing
My fiancé and I had reservations for Saturday night at 10pm, May 5th which was also Cinco de Mayo. We knew because of that they would be extremely busy hence why we made reservations. We also booked a later time so the crowd/rush would hopefully die down a bit. Wrong! We got there at 9:45pm, 15 mins early and weren’t even greeted until 20 mins later. We were then brought to the corner of the restaurants were we were seated and given menus. Half an hour of waiting and waiting with no one to come even say hello or bring us a glass of water we decided to go call the waitress who said she’d be right over... wrong again. People all night were complaining about slow service. There was a birthday party there who waited an hour and a half just for their drinks!!! When asked how many people were staffed, they told us 4 in the kitchen, 4 servers, and two bar tenders. Ummm hello, it’s Cinco de Mayo and you had over 200 reservations for that night, shouldn’t you have staffed it more appropriately? After waiting an hour with no service at all, we decide to get up and leave. Unfortunately, I never got to taste the food but due to the service, or lack of, I won’t ever be returning...
We have been to this restaurant multiple times. I did not understand the poor service rating these other reviews gave the restaurant until tonight. We booked reservations a whole week before asking for seats on the upper level. And we ended up on the basement with very little to no service. We came hungry and did not get ANY food until after numerous complaints within the 3hrs we were left to wait. Thank goodness one of our guests was Spanish and knew one of the bartenders! Otherwise no one would've acknowledge that we were forced to pay off our bill without actually receiving any of the drinks and food ordered. Then to top it off, we saw patrons who came in hours after we showed up getting serviced with food before us. We now know next time not to come here for dinner..I raved so much about this place and ended up getting disrespect from the curly haired hostess who felt younger walk-in patrons would bring her better $ for the night. We ended up spending over $900 for our group of 10 for food and drinks despite the unnecessary and inconsiderate wait. This disrespect has turned us off from going back for a while and we plan to tell and warn others to expect potential poor service when you've invited a group of people to impress to this establishment.Spare yourself the embarassment, go somewhere else who is equipped and staffed to service all guests and patrons to have reserved for the night.
Busy night. Food took a long time to come. Waitress made us feel very rushed and quickly cleared our dishes and brought bill. Food is good but expensive.
We find the food and drinks are always consistently DELICIOUS. We enjoy having the live band and DJ. Feels like we travelled to Playa Del Carmen one we walk through the doors. This place has great fun vibe and it's always a fun time when we visit.
Really like the location and the food was great. Have to say the service left a little to be desired. It was slow and they didn't bring out the shells for the fajitas until well after the food and needed to be reminded. I'd hope it was just an off night because I really like the place.
Great tasting Mexican food done right. All other places are sloppy take outs.
I knew Good Friday is a holiday for many restaurants so I did some advanced planning and found through the website that Yo Amo Tacos was accepting reservations. Wasn't I surprised when we and our of town guests arrived to find the restaurant was closed. I respect your choice to close for a holiday but to take reservations on that date is highly respectful of your clientele.
When we walked in it was like we were out of the country (cool). Unfortunately our table had to wait almost 20 minutes for 2 Sodas and 1 beer. Food service seemed slow overall. At the end of the day everyone said it was tasty...
Amazing! Staff were nice. Food was really good and authentic! Have to have the churros!
Our server Rose is fantastic. She knows when to be at your table and when to leave you alone. Very pleasant and nice to deal with. Not hard when the food is this good. Special shout out to Mike for taking care of us like we were long time friends.
Food was good and waitress was friendly but waited an hour for the food to arrive at our table.
Delicious food & excellent service.
I’ve been here many times, and the food has been beyond delicious! I was raving about the nachos to a friend I brought this weekend... and they were terrible! The nachos tasted like eating a container of salt. This was a horrible experience for myself and my friend who’s first experience was not impressionable. I usually recommend yo amo for the best Mexican but I’m worried about getting the salt nachos again...
too bad, as I tell so many people about this great find..
Food was good. Need some more renos. Nachos were so so. Room for improvement. Fajitas were awesome.
Food was very bland, stale. Delivered the chicken fajita almost cold. Lousy food though pretty expensive
