Tiger Shrimp Tempura
Yoshi's is one of our favorite spots in the entire Bay Area!! We have been here a number of times. We saw the amazing Bobby Caldwell on our first night and the drink service was exceptional. We like to bring our guests to this restaurant when we want to impress them with the food and lovely ambiance. Service was timely and gracious, not just from our personal server but everyone who touched our table. Please stick around forever!!!
Yoshi's is a wonderful spot where I have years of delightful memories of dinners and shows. The show, as always, was very nice. The food was just so-so this time. However, I think the prolonged effect of the pandemic may be a contributor to that. We had the duck confit spring rolls appetizer, but it lacked seasoning and flavor. I didn't care for the sashimi like I normally do. It's always my go-to order. I found the salmon was a bit too fishy tasting; it made me question its freshness. The ahi was not very good. The hamachi, on the other hand, was absolutely delicious. I left the other two on the plate after tasting them. My sister always orders the half chicken, but that dish has now become chicken thigh meat only. She was not very pleased about that as she doesn't enjoy thigh meat. Our spinach salad was very good. We enjoyed the wine and cocktails. We will continue to support Yoshi's, and we hope the quality of the dishes can return to the level of excellence it normally offers.
Good food and great music!
My friend and I ordered separate dishes of the vegetable tempura. The presentation did not reflect the quality I have come to know at Yoshis. Both of our dishes contained only 1 type of veggie. Tempura is typically served with a colorful mix of a variety of veggies.
I was surprised that YOSHIs STAFF did not ASK for or CHECK for PROOF OF VACCINATION at any point of entry into the restaurant, bar or the show. !!!
There was no change in the seating arrangements from PRE-PANDEMIC seating in the restaurant, bar and performance areas. THERE WAS NO SOCIAL DISTANCING AT ALL. MOST GUESTS DID NOT WEAR MASKS. EVEN WHEN NOT EATING OR DRINKING. There were no SANITIZING TREES or AIR PURIFIERS IN THE PERFORMANCE AREA. NONE IN THE RESTUARANT.
ONLY 1 "TREE" at the end of the bar in the Lobby.
MASKING AND SOCIAL DISTANCING OF SEATING IN ALL AREAS of YOSHIs needs to be enforced. Yoshis has received a tremendous amount of. FINANCIAL SUPPORT over the years to stay in business from both the city of. SF and Oakland . Yoshis should and can do better to protect the health and safety if their staff, guests and performers.
My wife treated me to dinner and Gerald Albright show for my 70 birthday on January 26. Great show and dinner was good except for her soup that had overcooked noodles and vegetables. However, other 5 dishes were excellent.
Easy to book, quick to be seated, waiter was excellent, good suggestions, food was just ok.
Date night with my wife and then enjoyed the concert afterwards. Great service and excellent food and drinks!!
The service was slower than usual but the food was good. The restaurant was extremely busy. It took a long time for me to get my meal and the server went and got it and brought it to me. Always a good experience overall. I love their Brussel sprouts with cauliflower sauce.
Food was AMAZING!! Kim Waters never disappoints. Drinks were OVER PRICED to be so light. Don’t mind $20 drinks if adequate amount of alcohol
Excellent food, service, experience...as always! Never fails...Yoshi's is our favorite food/music combo venue!
Had tickets for the KW concert
The place was very nice, clean, and with an efficient staff.
The food was very good!
Great food and ambiance. Excellent service.
Enjoyed dinner and awesome concert with Azure McCall last night. The Queen of Jazz. Took me back in time when we were all so young living the life in Waikīkī, HI.
Sushi and sides were great too!
The service & ambiance is great! I love Yoshi’s and always have a wonderful time.
Warning: if you choose the tatami seating, you will be asked to take off your shoes. Despite the floors being cold, and uncarpeted. So, cold feet for your dinner.
Yoshis in Oakland is always a good time, good atmosphere and even though I am a vegan they still have enough choices for a person who only eats plants lol
The hostess and service was quick and friendly. I allotted 2 hours to dine before our show and it was more than enough time to order food. We had appetizers, salad, 2 sushi rolls and a Prime Rib Entree and everything came staggered but within an hour!
We had a wonderful date night. The food was fabulous and the ambience was perfect. We were able to enjoy our meal and have a nice conversation without feeling like we would disturb the people around us.
Went ahead of time for a concert. Love how you can dine and then have your parking validated and then also get assigned seating for the Yoshis shows.
We always have dinner before the show at Yoshi's. We never miss an opportunity to take advantage of the excellent food and good service.
Hello, my fiancée & I enjoyed our first date night of 2022 at Yoshi’s last. Our server was good…the ambience was beautiful & the food was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS. This was my first time dining at Yoshi’s & I will definitely be going back again.
awesome venue -super food and great parking -hip crowd -lovve it
Food and service very good- would have liked to have more choice in seating for concert.
My husband and I went to Yoshi’s for our anniversary and returned for my birthday it was absolutely divine. Our waiter Issac was amazing, and the food was superb as always. I was gifted a complimentary dessert and it was the best crème brûlée I’ve ever tasted. Highly suggest!
Dinner prior to performance
Great experience all around. Our waiter Ron was very attentive and the food was delicious.
Not bad. They did a great job with service. Prices are a bit on the high side and the menu could use a revamp. Hasn’t changed in years.
Great to dine and walk to the show.
It's been a while since I've been able to attend a show at Yoshi's, and I was super pleased with everything. One of the great advantages of dining at the venue is that you have first access to a reserved spot at the show playing that night. The food was delicious - sushi was fresh, and the server was pleasant and very accommodating. The venue has high tech air filters throughout and there was plenty of room to spread out for social distancing within the restaurant. The only negative thing I can say is that they are not checking vaccine records, but they do require masks.
Food and concerts are always good. $20.00 per drink, not so great.
We had not been to Yoshi's Restaurant since pre-Covid. It used to be one of our favorite restaurants. We were disappointed how mediocre it was. It was okay, but for over $300.00 for the four of us, with no alcohol, we had greater expectations. Not sure what changed; perhaps the quality or unavailability of the ingredients, or different chefs. We had three desserts as well as sushi, and will never order dessert there again. The chocolate brownie was overdone and dry, the creme brûlée was bland(how is that even possible to do this with creme brûlée?), and the banana muffin tasted processed. To top it all off, the server refreshing our water had his Facemask below his nose the entire time-even when I mentioned it to the woman at the front desk and she said she would bring it to managements attention. Maybe she forgot? Didn't seem safe to have a server walking the entire restaurant with his mask hanging down. Bummer. I still would probably go back after Covid because we love the venue for music the ambience is lovely.
Yoshi's food was delicious and their customer service was great as always. Show was perfect!
Our server was great! The food was delicious! Loved the Brussels sprouts.
We especially appreciated the hostess’ willingness to re-seat us, away from a birthday party in the room. It made for a lovely experience, and the food was marvelous. Then, of course, we loved the music afterward.
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!
Music, food, venue, sound, audience.
Top-notch sushi in one of the Bay Area's most iconic venues. Come for the music, stay for the food!
The food was great! The staff was friendly and very attentive. The food was great! I know, I meant to say it twice ;-)!
Yoshis continues to be wonderfully amazing! The zucchini spaghetti with the grilled salmon was the best I've EVER eaten. I'm truly looking forward to my next visit.
